The official category map
Carnival's current Celebration deck plan makes the hierarchy unusually clear. Interior runs 4A–4I, with Premium Interior 4N/4O. Ocean View is 6A/6B. Balcony then fragments into Cove 7C, Junior 7X/7Y, standard 8A–8G, Extended 8J/8K, Forward-View Extended 8L and Aft-View Extended 8M/8N. Suites split again: Ocean Suite OS/OT versus Carnival Excel DS, KS, LS and SV.

Balconies: an upgrade can change the view more than the room
Celebration has three extended-balcony labels before themed cabins even enter the picture. 8J/8K is Extended Balcony, 8L faces forward and 8M/8N faces aft. A higher balcony fare may therefore buy more outdoor area, a different sightline, a different position on the ship—or all three.
Extended Balcony
The extra outdoor area is the reason to compare it. Check the exact cabin before assigning a dollar value.
Forward-View Extended
The forward orientation is part of the purchase, not a footnote.
Aft-View Extended
The aft-facing experience can justify a premium for the right traveler. It is still a preference, not a universal upgrade.
Cove Balcony
Low and sheltered. Compare it as a different balcony experience rather than a lower rung on the same ladder.
Family Harbor: price the lounge and family perks separately
Carnival Celebration carries Family Harbor Interior (FA), Ocean View (FE) and Ocean View Suite (FP) categories on its current deck plan. The rooms sit near the Family Harbor Lounge, where Carnival provides breakfast, daytime snacks, board games, family movies, video games and more. The benefit package also includes kids eating free in most onboard specialty restaurants and one free evening of Night Owls babysitting.

Family Harbor Ocean View
Adds daylight while keeping the Family Harbor benefit package.

Havana: the 12+ rule comes before the cabin code
Celebration's deck plan lists Havana Interior HA, Cabana HE, Havana Extended Cabana HG, Cabana Suite HS and Cabana Corner Suite HU. Carnival's ship page makes the eligibility rule explicit: all Havana stateroom guests must be 12 or older. For eligible parties, the defining benefit is the exclusive Havana pool area; moving into Cabana categories changes the outdoor space as well.

Cloud 9: the spa label does not tell you the room
The current Celebration legend spreads Cloud 9 across Interior 4S/4T, Ocean View 6S, Cove Balcony 7S, Balcony 8P, Forward-View Extended Balcony 8V and Suite SS. In other words, “Cloud 9” tells you the benefit family, not the physical room. Carnival's current spa material adds thermal-suite access, priority reservations and other spa privileges to that room choice.

The lower Cove position and Cloud 9 benefits are bundled together.

Ocean Suite OS/OT and Carnival Excel Suite DS may both appear under “Suite,” but the Excel code marks a different benefit tier. Carnival's ladder continues through Corner Suite KS, Aft Suite LS and Presidential Suite SV. Excel-level guests receive complimentary Loft 19 access and priority when reserving its private cabanas. The cabana rental itself remains a separate purchase.

A conventional suite purchase without the Excel-level access package.
Carnival Excel Suite
The first category in Celebration's Excel-specific suite tier.
Corner + Aft
At these levels, exterior geometry and orientation become a larger part of the purchase.
Presidential Suite
The highest suite category on Celebration's current legend.
Loft 19 access is included. The private cabana is not.
Carnival gives Excel Suite guests complimentary access to the Loft 19 deck and priority when reserving private cabanas. Priority access to inventory has value, but keep the separate cabana rental outside the suite's included-value calculation.
Occupancy: the cabin-number symbol decides whether the room works
The official deck plan assigns double sofa beds, single sofa beds, upper Pullmans, sofa-plus-Pullman combinations, fixed king configurations and connecting-room status at the individual-cabin level. The category code identifies the product family. The symbol beside the cabin number tells you whether that exact room works for your party.
