Fifteen of her sixteen scored venues are identical to Edge's, category for category, and the sixteenth — Craft Social — is a fully scored venue that gives Apex a genuine, small edge: 0.1 higher in Casual & Quick Dining. If you're choosing between the two ships on food alone, you're choosing between two names for almost the same answer, with one small, honest difference.

Room service runs the fleet-wide arrangement: about $9.95 per order plus 18% gratuity (approximate, pricing checked August 2026 — confirm current figures before you sail), with continental breakfast free between 6 and 11am. It's complimentary all day for Retreat suite guests and Zenith-tier loyalty members.
Sunset Bar is aboard, but on Apex it's a bar only — there's no confirmed standing food menu here, unlike Craft Social. A real food menu at Sunset Bar exists on Beyond, Ascent and Xcel, the ships that followed the original hull. Come for the drink and the view, not dinner.

What isn't here is the more interesting story. Apex has no Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud — that restaurant, and the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star award tied specifically to its Xcel installation, exist only on Beyond, Ascent and Xcel, the three ships built after Apex on a stretched hull. That single absence, shared exactly with Edge, is the main reason Specialty Dining (8.4) and Quality Ceiling (8.4) are the two categories where Apex trails her newer sisters most.
Le Petit Chef is not a separate restaurant — it's an evening dinner-service overlay staged inside Le Grand Bistro: an animated tabletop projection dining event layered onto the same room that serves as a daytime bistro. Book Le Grand Bistro for the evening, and Le Petit Chef is what you get.

That's not a statement about Eden's quality — it's that Xcel layers destination-driven, rotating programming on top of the same Dinner on the Edge and Le Petit Chef overlays every ship in this series shares, Apex included. Craft Social doesn't change this either — it's a bar, not a programmed event.

Variety, Quality Ceiling & Value
The three categories that describe the shape of Apex's dining program rather than any single venue.
Variety (8.1) is the honest cost of arriving early. Sixteen scored venues, Craft Social among them now, make a real, well-rounded roster, but it's still the smallest specialty count in the Edge Series — Beyond, Ascent and Xcel all added rooms Apex never got. It isn't a defect in what's aboard; it's simply less of it than her successors carry.
Quality Ceiling (8.4) is set by Eden and Fine Cut Steakhouse. Both are genuinely strong specialty rooms, but neither carries the kind of outside credential Le Voyage's Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star award gives Xcel specifically. Without that one restaurant, Apex's top of the range sits half a point to a full point below her newer sisters.
Value (7.8) is where being early in the series pays off. It's tied with Edge for the highest Value score in the whole Edge Series — the class runs slightly downhill on this measure as the ships get newer and bigger, trading value for ceiling. Apex sits at the top of that trade, not the bottom.
