Which cruise insurance actually fits your trip?

Three short steps. You get the policies that qualify for the trip you describe, the ones that are ruled out and why, and the certificate wording behind every figure. It names no policy to buy and shows no prices — that is the point.

Describe your trip

Step 1 of 3: your trip
Step 1 of 3

Your trip

Four things decide which policies can cover you at all: what you have prepaid, where you live, where you are going, and whether a ship is involved.

Everything non-refundable, for everyone on the booking — fares, deposits, air, excursions booked ahead.

Where are you going?
Trip shape
Step 2 of 3: your dates
Step 2 of 3

Your dates

The two benefits travelers most often lose — Cancel For Any Reason and the pre-existing-condition waiver — are sold only for a set number of days after your first payment. That clock starts here.

The day you first paid anything toward this trip.

Leave blank if you are not sure yet — we will say so rather than guess.

Are flights part of this trip?

Decides whether flight-delay benefits count for you.

Step 3 of 3: what matters to you
Step 3 of 3

What matters to you

“Would like” scores a policy lower when it lacks something. “Must have” removes it entirely. Choose the strong option only if you would genuinely walk away without it.

Cancel For Any Reason

Cancel for a reason the policy does not otherwise list, for part of your money back.

Pre-existing condition waiver

Waives the pre-existing-condition exclusion when its requirements are met. Usually time-limited from your first payment.

Anyone on the booking in these age groups? (optional)

Some policies cap the insurable age. Left blank, age is simply not checked.

Planning any of these? (optional — many policies exclude them)

Only activities at least one policy in the registry names explicitly are listed here.

How this works

What this tool is, and what it is not

Requirements are gates, not points

If a policy cannot cover your trip, no score saves it. Trip cost ceilings, trip length caps, destination limits, age limits, state availability and purchase deadlines are checked first and can remove a policy outright — they are never averaged away inside a rating.

“We do not know” is never treated as zero

Where a policy has not been researched on some point, it is not scored down for it and it is not quietly assumed fine either. It is reported as unconfirmed, and it lowers our confidence rather than its score.

Fit and evidence stay separate

Fit is how well the coverage matches your trip. Evidence is how well we can document it. They are never multiplied together, because a well-documented mediocre policy and a barely-documented strong one are different problems.

Every figure traces to a document

Open the evidence on any result to see the certificate or policy language a number came from, what kind of source it was, and the date it was read. Nothing here is generated from memory.

There are no prices here

This compares coverage, not cost. Premiums vary by age, state, trip cost and date, and none of that is modelled. A policy ranking first here may or may not be the one worth buying once price is on the table.

The comparison set is finite

Only policies researched to certificate level are compared. Others are named with the reason they are not, rather than dropped silently.

Coverage is one question. Your trip is another.

This tool compares what policies say and how they fit the trip you described. Seabound Journeys can help you make sense of the comparison and plan the rest of the trip; confirm availability, pricing and terms with the insurer or a licensed insurance professional before you buy.

FAQ

Straight answers

Does Insurance Fit tell me which policy to buy?

No, deliberately. It shows you which policies qualify for the trip you described, which ones are ruled out and why, and the certificate language behind every figure. Choosing between two qualifying policies often comes down to claims experience over years, which no tool can supply. Insurance Fit compares coverage; it does not rank insurers by service quality or model price.

Why does it separate Fit from Confidence?

Fit is how well a policy's coverage matches your trip. Confidence is how well that coverage is documented from the insurer's own published materials. They are never multiplied together or shown as one number, because a well-documented mediocre policy and a barely-documented strong one are different problems — collapsing them into a single score would hide that difference.

What happens when a policy hasn't been researched on some point?

It is reported as unconfirmed, never quietly assumed to pass or scored as a zero. An unresearched point lowers how confident the comparison can be, not the policy's fit score. If your own state has not been researched to certificate level, the tool says so plainly rather than guessing.

Does Insurance Fit show prices?

No. It compares coverage, not cost. Premiums vary by age, state, trip cost and purchase date, none of which this tool models. A policy that ranks first here may or may not be the one worth buying once price is on the table — that comparison is between you and the insurer or your advisor.

Is this insurance advice?

No. Insurance Fit is a research and comparison aid built from each insurer's own published policy and certificate documentation, current as of the dates shown. It is not an offer of insurance and Seabound Journeys is not an insurance agency. The certificate actually issued to you governs your coverage — confirm anything you plan to rely on with the insurer or a licensed agent before you buy.

How many policies does it compare?

48 policies from named carriers, researched to certificate level where the research reached that far. The comparison set is finite and disclosed — a policy that has not been researched to that level is named along with the reason it is not included, rather than silently dropped.
