Pre-Cruise Hotels · Broome
Ten hotels for the night before a Kimberley voyage, scored on what they publish. Most lines collect you from your hotel, so the evening matters more here than the distance, and none of the ten says breakfast is in a standard rate.
Three taps and we’ll show your three picks.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. No hotel pays for a place here. Booking.com links earn us a commission, and they don’t change the order.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, its brand, the Broome Visitor Centre or the line publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
There’s no cruise parking to price here, so the plan assumes you fly in.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
There are no partner links in this plan. It’s built only from what the lines, the airport, the Broome Visitor Centre and each hotel publish.
Moonlight Bay Suites and the Mangrove tie on 34, next door to each other on Roebuck Bay; Moonlight takes first on our straight-line tiebreak, by metres. Habitat Resort is third, the nearest to the jetty, with two pools; the Cable Beach Club, with the most to do the night before, is fourth.
Narrow the ten by what your night needs. Save the ones you like. Tick up to three to compare side by side — the order is ours, the shortlist is yours.
Why ten? We checked fourteen and ranked ten; the four we left out are at the bottom of the page.
Add your sail date and the links open on the night before.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the cards below are the rides from the airport.
None of the ten runs its own ride to the ship, and most lines collect you. Two resorts run paid guest airport shuttles; Broome Transit covers the rest.
Broome Airport · about 1.4 km from Chinatown by our pins; Broome Transit AU$15–20 a person

Every distance ends at our Port of Broome jetty pin, and every one is a straight line between our own estimated pins, not a route. Most lines collect you, so treat these as a rough guide.
No walking times: the jetty is at the end of Port Drive in a working port, and the lines run the transfer.
Five things make a night before easy or hard. In Broome the evening does most of the work, because the lines run the ride. Points come from the hotel, its brand or, where we name it, a tourism board. Booking platforms never score.
Silence scores zero, not a guess. Booking sites don’t count, and a walking time to “the harbour” isn’t a walking time to a cruise quay.
By band, from our jetty pin: Port Drive, within 3 km, 30; town and Chinatown, within 6 km, 25; Cable Beach, 20. The bands are wide because nobody walks to the ship.
A transfer the hotel runs or arranges, with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. A walk the hotel itself prints at half a mile or less 15. Nobody in Broome scores here; no hotel publishes its own ride to the ship. Line pickups are the line’s arrangement, not the hotel’s.
A published rate to leave the car at the hotel while you cruise 20; offered, but unpriced or not guaranteed, 14. Day rates in a public garage don’t count. Nobody scores here either.
A breakfast the hotel says is included scores 10. Nobody scores. The Cable Beach Club includes breakfast only in its Villas, and Oaks only in an offer.
Pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3, a sauna or spa 3, a gym 3. Habitat Resort’s two pools and The Continental’s Conti Bar & Bistro score because the operators say so; the kitchens, bars, pools and gym that only booking platforms list don’t. A kitchen in only some rooms doesn’t count.
Ties are broken in order: any published parking for your cruise, any stated ride to the ship, free breakfast, then the shorter straight-line distance to the Port of Broome jetty. Moonlight Bay Suites takes first from the Mangrove, both on 34, because our pin for it sits a few metres nearer the jetty; treat that as a tie. Bali Hai edges Oaks Cable Beach, both on 29, and The Continental edges Broome Time Resort, both on 28, the same way.
What’s left out is deliberate. Room rates move by the day, so they aren’t scored, and review scores neither. Distances are straight lines between our own map pins, not routed walks or drives, and we say so wherever they appear.
No hotel in our ten offers parking for a voyage, and that’s fine. A Kimberley voyage starts with a flight, not a drive.
Why there’s no calculator. Almost everyone sailing from Broome arrives by air, and nobody publishes cruise parking at the Port of Broome. The free parking several hotels list is for your stay.
What to plan instead. Bags and the pickup. The airport has lockers for up to 7 days, and Bali Hai and Mantra Frangipani hold luggage after check-out.
We checked fourteen and ranked ten. The four we left out:
| Hotel | Why it isn’t ranked |
|---|---|
| Pinctada Hotel Broome | Its own site was blocked in our session, and we wouldn’t rank it on a listing alone. |
| Seashells Broome | Its resort page was blocked in our session. |
| Roebuck Bay Hotel | The Visitor Centre lists a free airport transfer for guests, but we couldn’t read the hotel’s own pages. |
| Kimberley Travellers Lodge (YHA) | A hostel; we ranked hotel rooms and apartments. |
Broome Airport is about 1.4 km from Chinatown by our pins. Broome Transit meets flights for AU$15–20 a person, and taxis wait at the rank.
Booked a line package? Check whether the hotel night and transfers are in it; Ponant’s 2026 Fly, Stay & Cruise package included one hotel night. The Getting There table shows what each hotel publishes, and the airport page has the flights and the landing check.
Tours, tickets and things to do are on Booking.com. Book the day before, not sail day.

On our scoring, Moonlight Bay Suites: kitchens, a 28 m pool and a gym, per its own site. The Mangrove next door ties it on points, with a restaurant instead of kitchens.
Of our ten, Habitat Resort on Port Drive, about 1.9 km from our jetty pin. The resort lists two main pools; most other details are Hotels.com’s.
Several do. True North and Kimberley Quest collect from your accommodation from about 16:00. Coral’s trip notes, as Exodus sells them, use a check-in at the Broome Civic Centre instead.
None of our ten says it’s in every rate. The Cable Beach Club includes it in Villas, and Oaks in a Breaks & Brekky offer.
The Cable Beach Club and Broome Time Resort run paid guest shuttles. Ask each for the current price. Otherwise take Broome Transit or a taxi.
Chinatown and Town Beach put you on Roebuck Bay for the Staircase to the Moon; Cable Beach has the resorts and the sunset. Your line usually collects you from either.
