The one with a private district
Five ships in, Royal Caribbean asked what an Oasis Class ship would look like if suite guests got their own neighbourhood. Wonder is the answer — and she's the only one who ever got it.
Wonder arrived in March 2022 as the fifth ship of the Oasis Class and the largest cruise ship in the world, a title she held until Icon took it in 2024. Her defining move was structural: where every sister has seven neighbourhoods, Wonder has eight. The addition is a keycard-access Suite Neighborhood with its own sun deck, plunge pool, bar, the suite-only Coastal Kitchen restaurant, a Suite Lounge, and the largest Ultimate Family Suite in the fleet, sleeping ten. No other ship in this class has anything comparable, and none has been retrofitted with one.
She's also the ship where the class's familiar features got quietly scaled up. Central Park carries over 20,000 plants — roughly double the original Oasis specification. The Mason Jar arrived here as the fleet's first Southern restaurant, with live country music and nineteen American whiskeys. Wonder Playscape gave families a two-deck open-air playground. The Vue bar sits cantilevered over the ocean. And then, in September 2025, she swapped Port Canaveral for PortMiami and became a short-getaway ship — which changes who should book her more than any feature on this page.
The Miami move created an unusual arbitrage, and almost nobody talks about it. A suite on Wonder buys you a private restaurant, a private sundeck and a plunge pool — and on a three-night sailing you're paying for three nights of it, not seven. For travellers who have always wondered whether Royal Suite Class is worth the money, a short Wonder getaway is by some distance the cheapest way to find out.

The suite neighborhood
The eighth neighbourhood, and the single reason most people choose this ship over her sisters.
A keycard-access sundeck with a plunge pool, its own bar and unhurried loungers — the answer to the main pool deck on a sea day. On a ship carrying up to nearly 7,000 people, a deck that most of them cannot enter is a genuinely different proposition.

This is where the suite premium actually justifies itself. If you book a suite and never use the private deck, you have essentially bought a nicer cupboard.
The suite-only restaurant, serving Mediterranean-leaning food to a room that never has to queue. Suite guests get all-day access, which quietly solves the busiest problem on a big ship: where to eat when everywhere is full.

The grandest version in the fleet, sleeping up to ten — two storeys, a slide between floors, cinema wall and whirlpool balcony. Extraordinary, and priced exactly as you'd expect.

PortMiami — short getaways
Wonder moved from Port Canaveral to Miami and now concentrates on three and four-night round-trip Caribbean and Bahamas sailings, with occasional longer voyages appearing on the calendar. Miami is among the easiest cruise ports in the world to reach, and short sailings make her unusually accessible for a first-timer or a quick escape.
The occasional full week
Longer sailings do surface from time to time — a seven-night Eastern Caribbean run appeared on her 2026 calendar, for instance — but they are the exception rather than the pattern. Never assume a week; check the specific sailing length before you fall for the ship.
Her homeport switch reframes the whole value question. A three-night sailing on a 236,000-tonne ship means you will not see most of it — and that is fine if you booked her for the suite district or a first taste of big-ship cruising, and frustrating if you booked her expecting to work through the venue list. Wonder rewards people who pick two or three things and do them properly. Completists should book a sister with a seven-night itinerary.

The only one with eight neighbourhoods
The suite neighbourhood ship — private sundeck, Coastal Kitchen, the fleet's largest family suite, and solo studios. Now on short getaways.
The other short-getaway sister, from Port Canaveral, with a dedicated suite area rather than a full neighbourhood — and a deliberately louder, party-forward character.
The week-long alternatives, both with Broadway licences Wonder lacks, and both usually cheaper per night for a standard cabin.
Wonder and Utopia now compete for nearly the same booking — a short Florida getaway on a huge ship — and the split is cleaner than most people realise. Wonder is the one to book if you're travelling in a suite or with children; Utopia is the one to book if you're travelling with friends and intend to be loud about it. Same length of trip, meaningfully different weekend.

The fleet's first Southern restaurant and bar — brunch, dinner and late-night, with live country music, farmhouse decor, johnnycakes, crab beignets and nineteen American whiskeys. It has since spread to Utopia and Allure.

A two-deck open-air, underwater-themed playground with slides, climbing walls, games and an interactive mural — a genuine step beyond what earlier sisters offered younger children.

No Broadway licence. Where four of her sisters run named musicals, Wonder performs Royal Caribbean's own original productions alongside the AquaTheater and ice shows. Strong entertainment — just not a Broadway title.

This is the one ship in the class where the suite question genuinely changes the answer.
The honest take
What we tell clients before they book this particular ship.
Three nights is not enough ship. Wonder carries more than forty restaurants, bars and lounges, eight neighbourhoods, a full slate of shows and the class's biggest Central Park. On a three or four-night sailing you will see a fraction of it, and you will pay a big-ship fare for the privilege. That is a fine trade if the suite district is your reason, or if this is your first taste of big-ship cruising — and a poor one if you're the sort of traveller who wants to work through the venue list. Match the length to your intent, not to the ship's reputation.
The suite neighbourhood is the point — and it's gated. Everything that makes Wonder distinct sits behind a keycard. Book a standard cabin and you get an excellent Oasis Class ship, but you do not get the thing that makes her different from Symphony or Harmony, and you may well pay a premium for a ship whose headline feature you cannot enter. If a suite isn't in the budget, a sister will usually give you more for the money.
And there's no Broadway show. Four of her sisters carry licensed musicals; Wonder runs original productions instead. They're well staged and most guests enjoy them, but it is a genuine difference rather than a technicality, and it's the one category where the newer, larger, more expensive ship offers less than the older ones. Worth knowing before you assume newer means more.
When to book Wonder of the Seas
Short Miami sailings and the only dedicated suite neighborhood in the class — two very different booking conversations.

The suite district is the whole argument. Wonder is the only Oasis-class ship with a full neighborhood built around suites — private lounge, restaurant, sundeck. If you're not booking a suite, you're paying for a ship whose signature feature you can't enter. That's fine, but know it before you choose her over a sister.
The verdict
The best suite experience in the class — on the shortest trips in it.
Wonder is two propositions at once. For suite guests she is unambiguously the best ship of the six: a private eighth neighbourhood with its own sundeck, plunge pool, restaurant and lounge, plus the fleet's largest family suite, all now available on three and four-night sailings from Miami. That pairing — top-tier accommodation sold in three-night portions — makes her the cheapest realistic way to find out whether Royal Suite Class is worth it to you.
For everyone else she's harder to justify. In a standard cabin you're paying newer-ship prices for a short trip on which you'll see a fraction of a very large ship, without a Broadway licence, when Symphony or Harmony will give you a full week and more stage time for less. Book Wonder for the suite, for the solo studios, or for a short first taste of big-ship cruising — and book a sister if you want a proper week at sea.
Bottom line: book the suite or book a sister — on this ship, more than any other, the cabin decides whether the fare makes sense.
