Unlike most ship classes this project has compared, there is no ranking to build toward here. Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Rotterdam run an identical current dining product, and this page states that plainly rather than manufacturing a "best ship" framing where none is supported. Ship age is stated as fact throughout — 2016, 2018, and 2021 — but it never functions as a scoring justification. A score difference in this project's methodology requires evidence of an actual current dining-product difference: a different roster, a different menu, a different included-versus-paid structure, or a different access program. None of that exists across these three ships today.

Why they match — and what used to be different
Pinnacle Class dining wasn't always this consistent. The gaps that separated these three ships at launch have fully closed.
Koningsdam entered service in 2016 without Rudi's Sel de Mer, her French seafood specialty restaurant — a genuine roster gap at launch, since closed. All three ships have carried the full five-restaurant specialty bench, Rudi's Sel de Mer included, for years, and this guide scores all three on that complete current roster.
The second gap was more recent and shorter-lived. In February 2025, Holland America announced the conversion of the former Nami Sushi space into the Morimoto by Sea Sushi Bar — a 12-seat à la carte counter adjacent to Tamarind — and the rollout landed on a different month per ship: Rotterdam first, in March 2025, Koningsdam in April 2025, and Nieuw Statendam in May 2025. For a few weeks in early 2025, the three ships genuinely didn't match. That window closed by the end of May 2025, and the Sushi Bar has been a standing, everyday product on all three ships since — not a limited-time pop-up, and not a current point of difference.
What's left is a single current roster, identical on all three ships: two rotational-format tiers of included dining, five specialty restaurants plus the Morimoto by Sea Pop-Up, and one genuinely substantive restricted-dining program in Club Orange. Nothing in the current product distinguishes Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, or Rotterdam from her sisters.
