Kusadasi in brief
Kusadasi is a Turkish resort town on the Aegean coast, and for most cruise travelers it exists as the gateway to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, about 18-25km inland.
Ships dock directly at Ege Port, which handles up to four large vessels at once, and the walk from the gangway to the Grand Bazaar is about as short as any port we cover — roughly 200 meters.
This page covers Kusadasi itself: the very walkable town, and the realistic ways to reach Ephesus by taxi, minibus, or tour. It's built to work the same whether you're arriving from Athens (Piraeus) or Rome (Civitavecchia).
The port is steps from town; Ephesus isn't
Kusadasi's port-to-town walk is about as short as this system gets.
About 200 meters from the gangway — one of the shortest walks in this whole system.
A waterfront walk, about 800 meters along the harbor.
18-25km away, along a highway — a taxi, dolmuş minibus, or tour, not a walk.
What's nearby, broadly
Kusadasi's day splits cleanly between the walkable town and the Ephesus excursion:
A short call favors the bazaar and waterfront, both genuinely walkable; a longer one is really about Ephesus, which needs transport regardless.
Commonly reached from
Kusadasi is a common Aegean/Greek Isles stop we cover, reached from more than one embarkation port. This list grows as Seabound builds out more embarkation-port guides — it isn't Kusadasi's whole story, just the ones documented so far.

The specific picks here already have their own dedicated guide, built and kept current on its own schedule. This page stays at the port-identity level on purpose; that one goes deep.

Ege Port accommodates up to four large vessels at once, and passengers walk directly off the gangway onto a flat, paved pier — among the most convenient arrivals of any port we cover.
Ephesus itself runs €80-100 round-trip by taxi (including waiting time), or about €2 by local dolmuş minibus to Selçuk plus entry fees. Site entry is about €40 (including the Ephesus Experience Museum), with the Terrace Houses an additional €15.

Kusadasi FAQ
Do ships dock or tender at Kusadasi?
Dock. Ships berth at Ege Port and passengers walk directly off the gangway onto a flat, paved pier — no tender.
Is Ephesus walkable from the port?
No — it's 18-25km away along a highway. A taxi (€80-100 round-trip), a dolmuş minibus (~€2 to Selçuk), or a guided tour are the realistic options.
Is the Grand Bazaar worth a quick walk?
It's about 200 meters, 2-3 minutes, from the gangway — genuinely one of the shortest port-to-town walks we cover, easy to fit in even on a short call.
Is Kusadasi only reached from Athens (Piraeus)?
No. It's also a regular stop on Rome (Civitavecchia)'s Greek Isles itineraries.
