MSC Meraviglia Entertainment, Judged

The Broadway Theatre, a 985-seat house on Deck 6, rotates six productions across a typical cruise, running twice nightly. The lineup spans musical variety numbers, a Motown set, flamenco, and Virtual, a production built around phone-app interaction with the audience.

Earlier sailings have also featured COOL, a roller-skating number paired with singers and dancers.

A detailed traveler account of six shows attended across one cruise called most of them entertaining, with one exception described as rather boring. That's a mixed but largely positive record.

The Carousel Lounge, a 400-seat, roughly 10,000-square-foot room on Deck 7, is the format MSC built this entire ship class around. It opened in 2017 as the venue for MSC's Cirque du Soleil at Sea partnership.

That deal ended in 2020.

The room ran without an exclusive act until May 2022. That's when MSC relaunched it with two new ticketed productions built specifically for this ship.

One was House of Houdini, an illusion-and-magic show themed on Harry Houdini. The other was Rock Circus, acrobats and aerialists performing to rock staples from bands in the AC/DC and Guns N' Roses mold.

Both run about 40 minutes for €10 booked in advance or €15 onboard, the latter including a themed cocktail.

One reviewer rated Rock Circus “by far the better” of the two, finding Houdini's tricks visibly staged rather than convincing.

MSC brands this format Carousel Productions at Sea. It currently runs on only four ships: Meraviglia, her sister Bellissima, and Meraviglia-Plus sisters Grandiosa and Virtuosa.

MSC Euribia's own Carousel Lounge, per multiple sources, is a conventional room without the circular staging the format needs. Neither MSC World Class ship scored in this project carries it at all.

MSC's own venue description of the TV Studio & Bar, a high-tech broadcast room on Deck 7, calls it a radio broadcast suite and TV studio. By day it broadcasts live games, quizzes and talent contests.

By night it runs “as an atmospheric comedy club, karaoke bar and live music venue.” That's a first-party MSC claim naming exactly the format this project's Live Entertainment band is built around. It's also one that hasn't turned up, on any ship, anywhere else in this project's MSC coverage so far.

It comes with a caveat. Recent independent reviews of the same room describe live music, a dance floor and late-night karaoke, without mentioning comedy specifically.

This page treats the claim as sourced and dated, not independently reconfirmed on a current sailing. That's real evidence, held at a band that doesn't yet credit it as fully as a purpose-built room with independent write-ups behind it.

Sky Lounge is styled after a members' club with a resident jazz trio from Buenos Aires. The Meraviglia Bar & Lounge brings a dance floor, and the Brass Anchor Pub pours 12 draft beers and 47 bottled varieties in a British-style room.

Together they round out a four-room circuit running most evenings.

The Amusement Park pairs an F1 racing simulator (€10 for six minutes) and a VR flight simulator (€12) with a 4D cinema (€8). Each is a separate paid attraction, not part of the cruise fare.

On top of that sits a June 2025 fleet-wide rollout. BOXES and MSC BOOM launched as new original game shows. Guinness World Records challenge events and PS5 Formula 1 tournaments were added to the daily schedule.

MSC named Meraviglia specifically as one of the ships getting the new LEGO Family Parade. That's alongside Bellissima, Seashore, Seascape, Virtuosa and both World Class ships.

Trivia, wine tastings and dance classes round out a standard sea-day roster. Current and confirmed, not assumed forward from an older brochure.

This page found less independent, ship-specific depth on Meraviglia's daytime programme, though, than exists for MSC's newest builds. That's short of the density this project reserves for Royal Caribbean's own megaships.

Polar Aqua Park's three slides include two enclosed tube runs that twist through total darkness before the exit, and a “Champagne Glass” finale slide that opens into a circular glass chamber. The minimum height is 1.2 meters, with no upper age limit.

The Himalayan Ropes Course wraps a dual-difficulty circuit around the ship's own edge, roughly 60 meters above the water by MSC's own description.

The Amusement Park's two-lane bowling alley is confirmed hardware. Several newer MSC ships already scored in this project — Euribia and both World Class ships among them — don't carry it.

Four pools round out the deck. The Main Pool and Bamboo Pool (the latter with a retractable roof and whirlpools) sit on Deck 15.

The Solarium and Horizon Pool are on Deck 16. A separate saltwater Yacht Club pool is reserved for suite guests on Deck 19.

No mini golf course, ice rink or surf simulator turned up in any source checked for this ship. That's the same three-way gap that has shaped Recreation across every MSC ship scored in this project so far.

The Attic Club, on Deck 18, runs a straight techno format. That's worth naming plainly: “The Attic” is also Royal Caribbean's own dedicated comedy room, on a different fleet entirely.

The two share nothing but a name. A monthly White Party and themed promenade street parties give the late-night calendar dated, recurring structure.

The Meraviglia Bar & Lounge keeps a dance floor running on other nights.

The stronger evidence sits above any one ship. MSC Cruises won Cruise Critic's 2023 Best in Cruise Award for Best Nightlife.

That's the same fleet-wide recognition backing every MSC ship this project has scored so far. She's held at the same band as her Meraviglia-Plus sisters, for the same reason each of them was.

Real, adult-skewing energy spreads across several multi-use rooms, not concentrated in one standalone, purpose-built nightclub.

MSC named Meraviglia among the ships receiving its new LEGO Family Parade in the June 2025 fleet-wide rollout. It came alongside DOREMIX Family Disco, a parent-and-child dance format hosted by the mascot Doremi.

Also new: a LEGO Family Game Show judged by mascot LEGO Sailor Walkabout, and Guinness World Records family events.

Ocean Cay adds a highlight unique to this ship's own story: an evening Lighthouse Show synchronizes lighting effects on the island's own lighthouse. Meraviglia was the first ship MSC ever sent there, on her debut Caribbean sailing in October 2019.

What's missing is outside recognition. No Forbes Vetted or Travel Weekly Magellan-style family award turned up for this specific ship, the way one did for sister-class ship MSC Seascape.

That's a stated evidence gap, not a confirmed shortfall — held against the score, not assumed away.

Doremiland runs MSC's five standard age bands: Baby Club (6-36 months, Chicco-sponsored, with free supplies), LEGO Mini Club (3-6), Junior Club (7-11, built around LEGO play with an educational lean), Young Club (12-14, PS4 and foosball) and a Teen Room (15-17) built around a circular dance lounge with video games. Every child 11 and under is signed in and out at each session.

Square footage for Meraviglia's own club never turned up in any source checked for this page. That's an evidence gap held plainly, not assumed against her — the same standard this project applies everywhere research runs thin.

One change is fleet-wide and confirmed, not ship-specific. MSC has converted Baby Care, the under-3 drop-off option, from a structure that included complimentary time to one that's fully chargeable across all 23 ships in the fleet, Meraviglia included.

The window expanded to roughly eight hours a day, but MSC discloses only that charges apply, not a fixed rate.

The Broadway Theatre (985 seats, Deck 6) and the Carousel Lounge (400 seats, roughly 10,000 square feet, Deck 7) split the show product. TV Studio & Bar, Sky Lounge, the Meraviglia Bar & Lounge and the Brass Anchor Pub carry the live-music circuit across Decks 6-7 and 18. On the recreation side, the Amusement Park's simulators and bowling lanes sit near Polar Aqua Park.

No venue on this ship has been reported as undersized for her roughly 4,500-guest double-occupancy capacity.

Included: all Broadway Theatre productions, the LEGO Family Parade, DOREMIX Family Disco, the LEGO Family Game Show, Guinness World Records events, themed party nights, karaoke, Polar Aqua Park, the Himalayan Ropes Course, and Doremiland's Mini, Junior, Young and Teen Clubs through age 17.

Extra cost: House of Houdini and Rock Circus in the Carousel Lounge (€10 advance / €15 onboard, the latter including a themed cocktail), the F1 racing simulator, the VR flight simulator, the 4D cinema, and the two-lane bowling alley. Baby Care's under-3 drop-off option is also extra, now fully chargeable fleet-wide, with MSC disclosing only that charges apply, not a fixed rate.

Pricing varies by sailing and region. Check the MSC for Me app or your cruise documents for current terms, rather than assuming a flat rate.

House of Houdini and Rock Circus, the two ticketed Carousel Lounge productions, are already scored above under Shows & Production. A headline show's quality counts there whether or not it carries its own ticket price, per this project's standing rule.

So they don't get a second, duplicate card here. Nothing else confirmed for Meraviglia clears this section's own bar.

The Amusement Park's simulators and bowling lanes are recreation hardware, already scored under Recreation & Attractions. No escape room or dinner-theater product turned up in any source checked for this ship.

If MSC adds one to Meraviglia, this section will be updated to reflect it.

Broadway Theatre shows run on a published schedule with two nightly sittings and no reservation required. House of Houdini and Rock Circus, in the 400-seat Carousel Lounge, are ticketed.

They're worth booking in advance through the MSC for Me app or before boarding — €10 in advance against €15 onboard.

A 400-seat room fills up faster than the main theater on a full sailing. The F1 racing simulator, VR flight simulator and bowling alley are walk-up but can queue during peak sea-day hours.

Doremiland follows standard posted hours, with Baby Care specifically requiring sign-up given its capacity cap.

Families are the clearest match on the numbers. She has a confirmed spot in MSC's newest family rollout, and a full five-band Doremiland.

The Himalayan Ropes Course and Polar Aqua Park give her real deck-level hardware for mixed-age groups.

Couples and groups curious about a first-party claim should treat it as a but not independently reconfirmed draw, not a guarantee. That claim is the TV Studio & Bar's comedy-club billing, unmatched among the MSC ships scored in this project.

Where you'll find her matters more than usual right now. She left New York for good in April 2026.

She spends the back half of 2026 in the Mediterranean and the UK market, then settles into Miami for Caribbean and Bahamas sailings for winter 2026-27. Travelers who specifically want a year-round Northeast departure — the itinerary this ship built her reputation on since 2023 — should know that isn't currently on her schedule.

MSC hasn't announced a return.

The class check. ships.csv groups MSC Meraviglia and MSC Bellissima under “msc-meraviglia-class,” distinct from “msc-meraviglia-plus-class” (Grandiosa, Virtuosa, Euribia). That split holds up under its own scrutiny.

Meraviglia (June 2017) and Bellissima (March 2019) were built together at Chantiers de l'Atlantique as the original two-ship class. MSC's own 2018 keel-laying announcement for Bellissima describes Grandiosa, launching later that year, as “the first of two Meraviglia-Plus ships.” That's a distinct, enhanced prototype built alongside the first class, not a straight repeat of it.

Meraviglia-Plus grew to 181,541 gross tons and roughly 4,810 guests, against Meraviglia's 171,598 tons and roughly 4,500. Grandiosa also launched with an exclusive Cirque du Soleil at Sea partnership Meraviglia never carried under that name.

She ran her own Carousel Lounge productions (Strings, Sweet) instead of Meraviglia's House of Houdini and Rock Circus.

Two real prototypes — not a relabeled repeat.

The homeport story. This matters more to how the ship reads today than her class does.

Meraviglia made her North American debut arriving at Manhattan Pier on October 17, 2019. She then ran the first-ever call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve eleven days later, before repositioning to a Miami winter season.

She split subsequent years between Mediterranean and North American deployments. Then, in April 2023, she became the first MSC ship ever given a true year-round New York homeport.

She sailed 6- to 11-night Caribbean, Bermuda and New England/Canada itineraries out of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

That chapter ended April 15, 2026, her final NYC departure and the close of MSC's Brooklyn operation. She's now working a Mediterranean and UK summer before a Miami-based winter 2026-27 season — six- and eight-night Caribbean and Bahamas sailings to Grand Turk, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Nassau and Ocean Cay.

A Southern Caribbean season from the French Antilles is already on MSC's published 2027-28 deployment plan.

Against the rest of this project. Meraviglia's 7.2 sits alongside MSC Virtuosa and MSC World Europa, both also 7.2, just above MSC Grandiosa and MSC Euribia (7.0) and below MSC Seascape (7.5).

Her card doesn't repeat either 7.2 ship's shape. Virtuosa and World Europa each carry one standout category — Virtuosa's Kids Clubs at 8, World Europa's Nightlife at 8.

Meraviglia's numbers run flatter across Production, Live Entertainment, Activities and Recreation at 7.0 each, lifted only by Nightlife, Family and Kids Clubs at 7.5. The TV Studio & Bar's comedy-club claim is the one piece of evidence on this page that no other MSC ship scored here can point to.
