Seaside broke that pattern on purpose. Fincantieri dusted off a twelve-year-old hull concept called Project Mille and built a ship with a wide boardwalk running along both sides of the exterior — deck space that faces the sea instead of a shopping mall.
Everything MSC now calls "resort style" started here, in December 2017. She sailed out of PortMiami on Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries she still runs today.
Nine years of service gives this page a deep evidence base. What it shows is a ship whose entertainment hardware backs up the design story.

Seaside is one of the older ships in MSC's currently-sailing fleet — a distinct hull generation from World Europa, Seascape or even Grandiosa, built two years before MSC's Meraviglia Plus program existed. The Metropolitan Theatre (934 seats) spans two decks and runs up to four sittings a night. That's a real necessity, given Seaside carries well over 4,000 guests at double occupancy.
MSC built seven original productions for her 2017 debut. The four that keep surfacing across every dated source checked for this page are My Life in Music (a movie-soundtrack revue), The Dream (a dance-forward vintage-musicals piece), The Wizard (an illusion act) and Peter Punk (a reworked Peter Pan).

The Garage Club & Bar, a 1950s American-diner-themed room on Deck 7, runs as Seaside's dedicated nightclub — a dance floor, a DJ booth, karaoke slots. A schedule reviewers describe as having no fixed closing time.
The weekly White Night extends programming across the ship into the early morning hours. Miami Casino (roughly 237 seats) stays open late alongside its own Casino Bar, with designated smoking and non-smoking sections.
As on every MSC ship scored in this project, the strongest single piece of nightlife evidence sits above any one hull. MSC Cruises won Cruise Critic's 2023 Best in Cruise Award for Best Nightlife, one of only two lines this project has found beating Virgin Voyages — the industry's ship-hardware nightlife leader — for that specific title.
That fleet-wide evidence, combined with the Garage Club's own real late-night specialization, is why this lands at 8.0 rather than lower. Genuine adult-skewing energy spreads across several rooms here, not concentrated in one purpose-built venue the way Virgin's Manor is.
Family entertainment
A 2026 parade rollout and a named interactive game show, held short of the top tier by the same structural gap most MSC ships in this project share.
MSC's February 2026 fleet entertainment announcement names Seaside among 14 ships getting the LEGO Family Parade — mascots moving through onboard locations on a scheduled route. A refreshed LEGO Family Game Show comes alongside it.
Family movie screenings run twice a cruise. Buzzer the Game, covered above under Activities, is built as an all-ages format families do together, rather than a kids-only event.
What keeps this short of MSC's strongest family scores elsewhere in this project is structural. There's no aqua-theater or ice-show hardware on this hull to pair with the parade — the same gap already capping several other MSC ships' Family scores.

Does MSC Seaside have bowling, mini golf, or an ice rink?
Bowling yes, the other two no. Seaside carries a real bowling alley — confirmed on the same MSC bowling round-up that names Meraviglia, Bellissima, Grandiosa, Virtuosa and her sister Seaview, and notably absent from the newer Seaside EVO ships (Seascape, Seashore), which swapped that space for VR and arcade hardware instead. No mini-golf course and no ice-skating rink turned up in MSC's own venue directory or in any independent review checked for this page — the same fleet-wide gap already documented on every other MSC ship scored in this project.
