Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John (marketed on board simply as ELTON) is a Vegas-style tribute production in the Luna Theater. It's built around four grand pianos and LED and projection design.

Archival Elton John footage is woven into a career-spanning setlist.

The creative team includes Emmy Award–winning choreographer Tabitha D'umo, choreographer/creative director Katy Tate, and costume designer Sky Switser.

NCL's own entertainment leadership, quoted in trade press, called it "currently the highest-rated entertainment show anywhere in our fleet."

A former NCL performer reviewing the ship separately praised its "choreography with intention, dynamics and thrill." The same review noted the show's attempt at character development "fell flat" against a full book-musical structure — real, specific critical nuance behind an otherwise strong reception.

HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder is an almost entirely wordless sci-fi spectacle, reportedly just three spoken words in the whole show. It combines Cirque-style acrobatics, trampoline gymnastics, laser and 3D projection mapping — an original score recorded by a 60-piece orchestra.

Costumes are designed by Guy Brassard, a Cirque du Soleil collaborator. HIKO also appears in meet-and-greet character encounters elsewhere on the ship.

Syd Norman's Presents: A Tribute to the Eagles and Syd Norman's Presents: Rumours run in the newly expanded Syd Norman's Pour House. Rumours is a full Fleetwood Mac album performance with storytelling between songs — the venue also hosts Live Band Karaoke and a rotating '90s set.

NCL's own trade coverage calls the Eagles tribute the second-highest-rated show in the fleet. It plays to standing-room-only crowds.

LunaTique: Pop Circus is a 21-plus, reservation-only cabaret-circus hybrid in Improv at Sea. It's costumed by Brooklyn-based designers A.C.

Gottlieb and James Nguyen — the show blends vintage circus glamour with pop culture and adult humor.

Every source checked for this page reports it selling out on day one of each sailing. The same former-performer reviewer called it "absolutely worth it."

Trade press covering the entertainment reveal noted Luna's lineup is "almost completely different" from sister ship Norwegian Aqua's. That's despite the two ships sharing nearly identical hulls — NCL is not reusing one Prima Plus show package across both ships.

Improv at Sea is Luna's dedicated comedy venue, confirmed fleet-wide across the Prima Plus ships and Viva. It's the purpose-built, spoken-format room this project's Live Entertainment band is explicitly built around.

Beyond its standard comedy programming, it hosts LunaTique after dark (see Shows above).

Syd Norman's Pour House is the ship's real live-music workhorse. It runs an Eagles tribute set, a full Fleetwood Mac Rumours performance, and Live Band Karaoke.

A rotating '90s throwback set, all in a themed rock-and-roll gastropub room. Latin LIVE! brings a live band and percussionists to the pool deck.

That's confirmed breadth across different formats: comedy, tribute rock, karaoke, Latin percussion. It's not one room doing all the work — still, it stops short of the six-plus-venue counts the deepest live-entertainment ships in this project have documented.

Tee Time is an interactive mini-golf course. Glow Court is an LED-lit sports floor by day — it reconfigures for nightlife programming after dark (see Nightlife below).

Moon Climber is a harness-free, multi-level obstacle and ropes course. Luna Game Zone offers paid retro arcade and VR gaming — Luna Midway adds open-air arcade games (see Recreation below for a sourced criticism of this specific space).

Island Nights and Latin LIVE! run as pool-deck parties. They work as daytime programming as much as evening entertainment.

Norwegian Luna's Caribbean itineraries include a day at Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's private island in the Bahamas. One review specifically praised the island for newly added adults-only areas and expanding water-park amenities.

The Aqua SlideCoaster is Luna's headline recreation feature. NCL bills it as the world's first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide at sea.

It uses magnetic lift technology to send riders through dual slide tracks, and it's free to ride. That's a distinctive piece of hardware.

It's in the same conversation as Carnival's Excel-class roller coaster, this project's nearest challenger to the Icon Class Recreation anchor.

Around it: Infinity Beach (pools blending into ocean views), a dedicated Kids' Aqua Park, Glow Court, Moon Climber's ropes course, Vibe Beach Club (an adults-only day retreat).

A Pulse Fitness Center with 270-degree ocean views.

Two confirmed absences matter here, and they cut in different directions. Norwegian Prima and Viva both carry the paid Prima Speedway go-kart track ($15 per ride).

Luna and Aqua drop it entirely in favor of the free Aqua SlideCoaster — a genuine upgrade in kind, not simply a loss.

Laser tag, by contrast, is a real gap. It's a signature attraction on NCL's own Bliss, Encore and Joy (Breakaway Plus Class).

It has never been part of the Prima or Prima Plus platform on any ship built so far, Luna included. It's a never-had, not a removal — still, it's a real absence next to what NCL itself builds on other classes.

One sourced negative: a reviewer covering Luna's naming voyage described the Luna Midway arcade on Deck 18 as "quiet and empty." The games, the reviewer said, looked "pulled from other ships" — a specific, dated criticism, not a general complaint.

After dark, the Luna Theater reconfigures into a club setup for Planetdisco (a full-scale 1970s-themed disco format) and the Norwegian Luna Eclipse Party. NCL describes the Eclipse Party as feeling "like your favourite club has gone on holiday."

LunaTique: Pop Circus in Improv at Sea is the ship's genuine adult-first specialty: 21-plus only, reservation-required. It's reported selling out on day one of every sailing checked for this page — sourced demand evidence, not marketing framing.

The strongest single piece of evidence here sits above any one ship. Norwegian Cruise Line won Cruise Critic's 2025 Best in Cruise Award for Best Nightlife (Ocean) — a dated, named, line-wide recognition.

It's also one of only two lines this project has found beating Virgin Voyages for that title. Virgin is the industry's own Nightlife leader on ship-specific hardware — MSC won it in 2023.

That's line-wide evidence, not a Luna-specific one, and that's why this lands at 8.0, not higher.

Real, flagship-tier adult-first energy runs through Planetdisco, the Eclipse Party and LunaTique — still, it's distributed across multi-use venues, not concentrated in one standalone, purpose-built nightclub the way Virgin's Manor is.

Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival is Luna's confirmed family togetherness event: glow games, character encounters and ocean-themed interactive activities aimed at mixed-age groups — confirmed on select sailings, not every cruise. Deck parties — Island Nights and Latin LIVE!

— are open to all ages, not adult-gated. Luna First Night, the welcome-aboard show, previews the week's programming for the whole ship.

What's genuinely missing, not merely unconfirmed: a scheduled parade, a standalone multi-day family festival, and any family-designed aqua or ice production. Luna carries neither an AquaTheater nor an ice rink — so there's no venue for the kind of family-athletic spectacle Royal Caribbean and Disney build their top Family scores around.

Guppies (6 months–3 years) is parent-accompanied open play built for child-parent bonding — not staffed drop-off childcare. Splash Academy (3-12) is the primary drop-off kids' club, running crafts, sports and theme nights.

Entourage (13-17) gives teens their own space with modern, digital-first programming. That's genuine, confirmed depth across the full age range NCL markets to families.

The one real structural gap: Guppies is not a staffed nursery. Children under 3 need a parent or guardian present at all times.

That's the same pattern holding Royal Caribbean's own Adventure of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas to an 8, not the 9 full-depth anchor elsewhere in this project. Both ships are independently confirmed by multiple family-travel sources as the only Royal ships with no drop-off nursery.

This is a fleet-wide NCL policy, not a Luna-specific shortfall. It's the reason her Kids Clubs score sits at 7.5, not higher, despite otherwise real, well-structured programming.

Luna Theater is the two-story main venue for Rocket Man, HIKO and Luna First Night. It reconfigures into club format for Planetdisco and the Eclipse Party.

Syd Norman's Pour House, a rock-and-roll-themed gastropub, was expanded from its Aqua-class footprint. It hosts the tribute-band sets and karaoke.

Improv at Sea is the dedicated comedy club. It doubles as the room for LunaTique after hours.

Beyond those three, Glow Court functions as both a daytime LED sports floor and a nightlife-capable space. The pool deck hosts Island Nights, Latin LIVE! and Sea of Discovery.

No major venue has been reported as undersized for a 3,565-guest ship. The Luna Midway arcade, though, has been specifically flagged as underwhelming (see Recreation above).

Included: Rocket Man, HIKO, Luna First Night, the Eagles and Rumours tribute sets, Live Band Karaoke at Syd Norman's, Planetdisco, the Norwegian Luna Eclipse Party, Island Nights, Latin LIVE! and Sea of Discovery (select sailings). Also included: standard Improv at Sea comedy programming, Aqua SlideCoaster, Glow Court, Moon Climber, Tee Time mini golf, Luna Midway arcade games, Splash Academy, Entourage and Guppies.

Extra cost: LunaTique: Pop Circus ($44.99 per person, including four specialty cocktails, a souvenir glass and gratuity, plus a $10 no-show fee inside two hours), Luna Game Zone's paid VR and retro-arcade titles, and Vibe Beach Club day-pass access. Also extra: the Mandara Spa and thermal suite, and specialty dining including Sukhothai (reviewed by at least one outlet as poor value against the complimentary Indulge Food Hall) — the casino runs on its own pay structure.

Pricing varies by sailing. Check the Norwegian Cruise Line app or Cruise Planner for current terms, rather than assuming a fleet-wide rate.

Rocket Man and HIKO both run through the Norwegian Cruise Line app's reservation system. NCL specifically recommends booking ahead.

LunaTique is reservation-only. It's been reported selling out on the first day of sailings — book it as soon as the app opens, rather than waiting.

Sukhothai and other specialty dining need their own reservations. Syd Norman's tribute sets, Planetdisco, the Eclipse Party, Island Nights, Latin LIVE! and Sea of Discovery all run on a published daily schedule — none of them require a booking.

Kids-club drop-off at Splash Academy follows standard posted hours. Fee-based extended hours are available on most sailings.

Cruisers want Vegas-caliber tribute production, a confirmed after-dark scene backed by real award evidence, and standard mainstream family-cruise structure underneath it. They'll find Luna delivering well on the evidence gathered so far.

Families with kids from 3 through the teen years are well served by Splash Academy and Entourage specifically. Families with a child under 3 needing staffed drop-off care should know one thing: Guppies is parent-accompanied — not a nursery.

Travelers who specifically want a licensed Broadway-style musical, a family-designed aqua or ice show, or laser tag should look elsewhere. Other NCL ships or other lines carry those features.

Bliss currently carries laser tag. None of that is part of the Prima Plus platform.

The class correction, stated plainly. This site's own ship database (ships.csv) currently tags both Norwegian Luna and Norwegian Aqua as "norwegian-prima-class." It tags Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva as "norwegian-prima-plus-class." That's backwards.

Real-world NCL and cruise-trade naming runs the other direction: Norwegian Prima (2022) and Norwegian Viva (2023) are the original Prima Class.

Norwegian Aqua (2025) and Norwegian Luna (2026) are a stretched, larger follow-on platform. NCL and trade press call it Prima Plus — a further-stretched pair due in 2027-28, Norwegian Aura and her unnamed sister, is sometimes called Prima Plus Plus.

This page uses the correct, industry-standard direction throughout. ships.csv itself is left uncorrected here, flagged for a follow-up pass — the same treatment this project gave Disney Adventure's misclassified class-slug.

What actually changed, against Prima and Viva specifically, not just Aqua. Luna is 91 feet longer (1,056 feet versus 963) and carries roughly 10% more gross tonnage.

She carries about 350 more guests across 20 decks instead of 16.

She also made one recreation trade that matters directly for this scorecard: Prima and Viva both carry the paid Prima Speedway go-kart track. Luna and Aqua drop it for the free Aqua SlideCoaster, a different, and pricier to build, format neither Prima nor Viva has.

Entertainment content is where the gap is largest of all. Even against Aqua, her closest sister on paper, trade coverage describes Luna's lineup as "almost completely different."

Against Prima and Viva specifically, none of Luna's headline shows are shared with Prima's own launch productions — Rocket Man and HIKO are Luna's; the Donna Summer Musical and Noise Boys are Prima's.

Every Prima-family ship built so far has staged its own distinct headline lineup. None has reused one class-wide show package.

Against the rest of this project. Luna's 7.4 lands above every Celebrity Cruises ship scored (6.2 at the top) and every Virgin Voyages ship (7.1 at the top).

It's in the same range as Royal Caribbean's Voyager and Freedom Class ships — just behind Disney Treasure (7.5).

Her Nightlife score (8.0) is a genuine standout for a first-line entry. It's backed by dated award evidence — not only ship-specific marketing.

Her Family Entertainment (6.5) is her softest number. It reflects a but confirmed-thinner togetherness program next to the industry's family-first ships.
