Áurea Museum by Eurostars Hotel Company
A Eurostars hotel on Rua Cais de Santarém with a pool, a spa and a gym, about 500 m from the terminal.
Pre-Cruise Hotels · Lisbon
Ten hotels for a Lisbon cruise, scored on what gets you to the terminal, not on reviews. Four sit within about 700 m of it, but Alfama’s hills mean only the flat riverside ones are a real walk with bags, and only one lists breakfast in the rate.
Three taps and we’ll show your three picks.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. No hotel pays for a place here. Booking.com links earn us a commission, and they don’t change the order.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
There’s no cruise parking to price here, so the plan assumes you fly in.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes.
The Áurea Museum and Memmo Alfama tie on 39, and the Áurea takes first on distance: both near the terminal, both with a pool per listings. Hotel Mundial is a point behind, with the only breakfast in the rate.
Narrow the ten by what your night needs. Save the ones you like. Tick up to three to compare side by side — the order is ours, the shortlist is yours.
Why ten? We could read the facts for ten. We left out hotels whose pages we couldn’t open at all.
Add your sail date and the links open on the night before.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the cards below are the rides from the airport.
None of the ten runs a ride to the ship. The two airport hotels run free airport shuttles, per Hotels.com, and Santiago de Alfama arranges a paid transfer.
Lisbon Airport · about 10 km and 15 minutes to the terminal, per Holland America; taxi about €20
From the rank at arrivals. The airport gives €10 to €15 to the centre and says luggage or pet fees may apply. Check the meter is running.

From the airport station; a direct line to Saldanha in about 20 minutes, per the airport, with changes for the Baixa or Santa Apolónia.

Every distance ends at our pin for the Lisbon Cruise Terminal at Jardim do Tabaco, and every one is a straight line, not a walking route. Alfama’s lanes are steep, so a short line there can still mean a taxi.
Walking times assume an easy pace on streets about a third longer than the straight line. They don’t allow for Alfama’s hills; Memmo and Santiago de Alfama are downhill on cobbles all the way.
Five things make a Lisbon night before easy or hard. Here the distance and the evening do most of the work. Points come from the hotel or its brand, or from the listing we name when we couldn’t read the hotel’s own site.
Silence scores zero, not a guess. Booking sites don’t count, and a walking time to “the harbour” isn’t a walking time to a cruise quay.
By band, from the terminal: Santa Apolónia and Alfama, within about 800 m, 30; the Baixa and Praça do Comércio, to about 1.4 km, 25; Rossio and Restauradores 20; the airport 10.
A transfer the hotel runs or arranges, with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. A walk the hotel itself prints at half a mile or less 15. Nobody in Lisbon scores here; no hotel publishes a ride to the ship.
A published rate to leave the car at the hotel while you cruise 20; offered, but unpriced or not guaranteed, 14. Day rates in a public garage don’t count. Nobody scores here either; garage rates for your stay don’t count.
A breakfast the hotel says is included scores 10. Only Hotel Mundial, per Hotels.com. The Áurea Museum’s listing names a “Continental Plan” without saying every rate includes it, so it doesn’t score.
Pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3, a sauna or spa 3, a gym 3. The Áurea Museum’s pool, spa and gym come from a Travel Weekly listing. Its restaurant is marked temporarily closed, so food doesn’t score.
Ties are broken in order: any published parking for your cruise, any stated ride to the ship, free breakfast, then the shorter straight-line distance to the Lisbon Cruise Terminal. Memmo Alfama and the Áurea Museum tie on 39; the Áurea is a little nearer on our pins.
What’s left out is deliberate. Room rates move by the day, so they aren’t scored, and review scores neither. Distances are straight lines between our own map pins, not routed walks or drives, and we say so wherever they appear.
No hotel in our ten sells parking for a cruise. Lisbon is a fly-in port.
At the hotels. Rates for your stay, not for a cruise: Santiago de Alfama €15 a day, Hotel Mundial €15, Memmo Alfama €20 and My Story Tejo €21, all per listings. Avenida Palace lists free parking for your stay, not confirmed for a cruise. Ask any of them before you leave a car for a week.
At the pier. Holland America says there’s parking at the pier and gives info@lct.pt for details. No rate is published, so we can’t total it.
We checked a few more hotels and couldn’t open enough of their pages to score them fairly, so they aren’t ranked.
| Hotel | Why it isn’t ranked |
|---|---|
| Bairro Alto Hotel | Search results gave us only travel-agent and blog pages, not the hotel’s own site or a full listing. |
Lisbon’s airport is about 10 km and 15 minutes from the terminal, per Holland America, with a taxi around €20. The metro is €1.90 plus the card and runs to the Baixa with one change.
Landing late? The two airport hotels run free shuttles. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes, and the airport page has the fares and the landing check.
Tours, tickets and things to do are on Booking.com. Book the day before, not sail day.

On our scoring, the Áurea Museum, ahead of Memmo Alfama on distance after a tie on 39, both within about 600 m of the terminal in a straight line, both with a pool per listings. Hotel Mundial is next, with breakfast in the rate.
From The Editory Riverside and the Áurea Museum, on the flat, yes: about 350 m and 500 m in a straight line by our map. From upper Alfama the streets are steep, so take a taxi with bags.
At one of our ten, Hotel Mundial, per Hotels.com. Elsewhere it’s extra or depends on the rate.
None of our ten sells cruise parking. Holland America says there’s parking at the pier, with details from info@lct.pt.
Memmo Alfama, the Áurea Museum, Pousada de Lisboa and Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto, per the listings we name.
