01

In brief

Lisbon is a full turnaround port, not just a stop. Port of Lisbon figures reported by MedCruise put about 127,000 turnaround passengers through it from January to August 2026, roughly 28% of all its cruise traffic.

Lisbon Cruise Port runs the two terminals by the old town, Santa Apolónia and Jardim do Tabaco, on Av. Infante Dom Henrique below Alfama. Its owners are Global Ports Holding, Grupo Sousa, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Creuers del Port de Barcelona, per Visit Lisboa, and the newer building opened in 2017.

This page is for starting or ending a cruise here. If your ship is only calling for the day, our Lisbon port-day guide covers the walk into town and our shore excursion picks cover the tours.

Lines starting or ending cruises here in 2026–27

Deployments change every season, so this roster is dated and sourced, and it lives only here.

Current as of October 19, 2026

Checked on October 19, 2026 — only Oceania’s and Viking’s items come from the lines themselves, and the rest are from listings and reports, so confirm before you book around them.

Oceania’s Insignia sails “Canaries to the Caribbean”, Lisbon to Miami, November 9 to 24, 2026, per Oceania. Viking lists 2026 and 2027 voyages that start in Lisbon for Rome, Athens and Istanbul, and others that end here, per its June 2025 announcement. Norwegian’s Dawn leaves Lisbon at 16:00 on November 1, 2026, for 14 nights to Jacksonville, per a Cruise Web listing.

Royal Caribbean is reported to start Mariner of the Seas sailings to Barcelona from Lisbon on May 27, July 30, September 16 and October 4, 2027, per Echo Boomer. A Taoticket listing also shows November 2026 starts here for Seabourn Quest and Crystal Serenity to Florida, Silversea’s Silver Spirit to Barbados, Azamara Onward to Civitavecchia and Costa Diadema to Brazil. Pick the ship first; the quay and the night follow from it.

Where you can go

From Lisbon the autumn crossings head south to Madeira and the Canaries, or west through the Azores, before the long run to Florida and the Caribbean. Spring brings them back the other way, and Viking and Royal Caribbean run east into the Mediterranean. The ports below are named on the sailings we found; one voyage won’t call at all of them.

Entry: the US State Department wants your passport valid for three months beyond your departure date, and rates Portugal Level 1, exercise normal precautions, as of December 23, 2025. The EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) has been fully running since April 10, 2026. It replaces passport stamps for non-EU visitors with a photo and fingerprints at the first Schengen border. ETIAS hasn’t launched and isn’t needed yet. The EU has promised at least six months’ notice, and no start date had been announced when we checked on October 19, 2026. How EES applies at the ship is up to the border police and your line; our Lisbon port-day guide has the detail.

For the crossings themselves, see our Transatlantic and Repositioning cruise guide and our Mediterranean guide.

Jardim do Tabaco, Santa Apolónia and Alcântara

Lisbon Cruise Port runs two terminals side by side on Av. Infante Dom Henrique, below Alfama: Jardim do Tabaco, the newer building from 2017, and Santa Apolónia. Holland America gives “Lisbon Cruise Terminal, Av. Infante Dom Henrique 1100-651” and says it connects to Santa Apolónia railway station. On a two-ship day in 2025, Azamara sent one ship to each: Santa Apolónia at Armazém B, Loja 8, and the Lisbon Cruise Port building at 1100-651.

The other cruise quays are out west at Alcântara, by the 25 de Abril bridge. Secondary port guides put them about 2.5 to 4.8 km from the centre and say they take smaller ships or overflow. We found no source saying turnarounds use them, but the port assigns the berth, so check your documents.

Two rules shape the morning — one about bags, one about paperwork. There’s no luggage storage at the pier, per Holland America. And Azamara warns that if your passport details aren’t in the manifest, you won’t get into the terminal until they’re processed, which can take two hours or more — so fill them in online before you fly.

05

Parking, in short

Holland America says there’s parking at the pier and gives info@lct.pt for the details, but we found no published rate. A few of our hotels print parking prices for your stay, from free (Avenida Palace) to about €21 a day — none says that covers a cruise.

Most people sailing from Lisbon fly in, and we’d do the same. If you’re driving, email the terminal before you go.

06

Getting here

Lisbon’s airport is close — Holland America puts it about 10 km and 15 minutes from the terminal, traffic allowing. The airport lists taxis at arrivals, Bolt and Uber pick-ups at P2 on Level 2, and a metro station with a direct line to Saldanha in about 20 minutes.

FromTaxiPublic transport
LIS — airport to the terminalAbout €20, roughly 15 minutes, per Holland America. The airport itself gives €10 to €15 to the centre, and says luggage fees may apply.Metro, €1.90 a ride plus €0.50 for the navegante card, per the Metro. The airport line needs at least one change to reach Santa Apolónia, so with bags, a taxi is simpler.
LIS — airport to the BaixaSame rank, same meter. The Red line to Alameda, then the Green line to Baixa-Chiado, about 25 minutes, per LUGGit’s guide; Carris buses run too, with a 50 × 40 × 20 cm bag limit, per the airport.
Santa Apolónia stationA short taxi, or a walk, to the terminal.Trains from the north arrive beside the terminal, per Holland America.

The State Department says to take taxis from the official queue or kiosk and check a ride-app car matches the app. There’s no luggage storage at the pier, per Holland America. Lisbon Airport to the ship has the rest.

The night before, ranked: we’ve scored ten hotels for the night before a Lisbon cruise, from Santa Apolónia station to the airport, on what each one publishes. None runs a ride to the ship. Five worth knowing:
