JAXPORT is run by the Jacksonville Port Authority, and its cruise operation is small and specific by design: one terminal, two lines, four documented destinations. It's the smallest Florida embarkation port this system has built out — smaller than Tampa's five lines, let alone Port Everglades' nine or PortMiami's twenty-six.
What makes Jacksonville structurally different from every prior port in this system isn't size, though — it's the split. Carnival Cruise Line sails from here year-round; Norwegian Cruise Line sails only seasonally, November through April. That split carries all the way down into which destinations you can actually reach, covered next.

Where you can go: four destinations, split by line
JAXPORT's own site names four destinations across its two lines, and they don't overlap the way Port Everglades' or Tampa's regions did. Carnival's 4- and 5-day Bahamas cruises call at Nassau and Freeport. Norwegian's seasonal Jacksonville sailings call at Nassau, Key West, and Great Stirrup Cay — NCL's own private island, which no Carnival passenger sailing from here will ever see.
Nassau is the one destination both lines share; Freeport is Carnival-only; Key West and Great Stirrup Cay are Norwegian-only, and only during Norwegian's November-April season. That's a meaningfully different shape than any prior port in this system, where the destination split has always run by region rather than by line.

JAXPORT runs a single cruise terminal — 9810 August Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32226 — and both Carnival and Norwegian use the same building. Every other Florida embarkation port in this system has needed a policy about whether it publishes a line-to-terminal table; Jacksonville is the first one where that question doesn't come up at all, because there's only one terminal to assign. Brightline: not here, and not actively discussed
Jacksonville has no Brightline station or route today — the current network runs Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach-Orlando only. That much is the same as Tampa. What's different: at Tampa, an extension has been publicly and repeatedly discussed by Brightline's own leadership and local transit officials. At Jacksonville, no comparable public discussion turned up in this research — the only Jacksonville-Brightline material found was a fan-made route-mapping tool, not a source this project treats as a finding. Can anyone visit Great Stirrup Cay from a Jacksonville cruise?
Only if you're sailing Norwegian. Great Stirrup Cay is NCL's own private island, exclusive to NCL guests — it isn't a stop on Carnival's Jacksonville sailings, and it's the only destination in this guide with that restriction.
