Pre-Cruise Hotels · Québec City
Twenty hotels for a cruise from Québec City, in the Old Port, up the hill and by the airport, scored on what gets you to the ship, not on reviews. Pick yours, and let the trip start the night before.
Three taps and we’ll show your best three hotels.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. Nobody pays to be here.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, beach, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links (transfers, rental cars, luggage storage) may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes.
One in the Old Port and two by the airport. Le Saint-Pierre calls the ships “just steps” away and includes breakfast when you book direct; the Comfort Inn and Hôtel MUST, by YQB, sell parking while you’re away and include breakfast.
Filter by what matters for your night. Save the ones you like, or tick up to three to compare side by side — the order is ours, the shortlist is yours.
Add your sail date and the links open on the night before.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the companies below run from the airport to the port.
The Port of Québec puts YQB 20 minutes from its docks and lists a C$41.40 flat daytime taxi fare between them. None of the twenty runs a free airport shuttle, and seven are in the Old Port itself, where both terminals are.
Québec City Jean Lesage International · about 20 minutes from the Old Port, per the Port of Québec
The Port of Québec lists a fixed rate of $41.40 between its docks and the airport, subject to change, and YQB posts a separate, higher night rate from 11 PM to 5 AM; Québec City's tourism office gives the same flat fare to the city centre on one page and "around $45 during the day and $50 at night" on its cruise page, and Holland America says about C$40. Taxi Coop Québec is 418-525-5191. The Port puts the airport 20 minutes away.
YQB says Uber and Lyft pick up at the airport; you book in their apps. Neither prints a fixed fare to the Old Port.
Route 80 runs from the airport to Saint-Roch downtown, per the tourism office, and YQB has an RTC ticket machine by the check-in counters. From Saint-Roch it's a walk or a short ride down to the Old Port, with bags.
Princess sells an airplane-to-ship transfer and Holland America sells transfers through your booking; neither prints a Québec price on the pages we read.
Viator's Québec port-transfer list had a private cruise port to Québec transfer from $72 and a port to YQB private transfer from $101 when we checked, without the currency shown.

These twenty are ranked for an easy sail morning, not for the room. Québec City is kind to a splurge: five of the seven hotels on AAA’s Québec City Four Diamond list make our top twenty, and so does the one hotel Forbes lists there. All six picks are in the Old Port or just up the hill.
Québec City’s two cruise terminals are both in the Old Port, below the walls of the old city. The bands measure from there: the Old Port’s Lower Town, Old Québec up the hill, just outside the walls, the suburbs, and by YQB.
Seven of the twenty are in the Old Port, five in Old Québec, one just outside the walls, four in Sainte-Foy, Beauport and Lévis, and three by YQB.
Numbers are the ranking. Each pin sits where the hotel is — the bands group them by distance, the way we score it.
Five things decide how easy the night before is, and each one is scored only from what the hotel publishes on its own site or its brand’s.
If a hotel doesn't say it, it scores zero there — not a guess, zero. Travel sites, tourism listings and review sites don't count, and when a hotel’s own pages contradict each other, we score the claim as unconfirmed and tell you. Each page lists exactly what we couldn't confirm.
By band, from the Old Port: the Lower Town 30; Old Québec, up the hill, 25; just outside the walls 20; Sainte-Foy, Lévis and the suburbs 15; by YQB 10.
Hotel-run shuttle, free or with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package or offer 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. The hotel says you can walk: across the street, a few blocks, or half a mile or less, 15. A ride the hotel arranges through someone else, or a shuttle company it names, 10. A shuttle that doesn’t name the terminal doesn’t count.
Published rate to leave the car 20, including a package with a published price. Offered, price unpublished 14.
Sail mornings start early. A free breakfast on site scores 10, including one inside a mandatory nightly fee.
On the beach 6, pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3. None of the twenty is on a beach.
Ties are broken in order: the lower published parking rate, any stated way to the ship, free breakfast, parking on site, the closer stated mileage, the lower guest parking price, then the alphabet. That’s why, on 40, the Comfort Inn (a published parking rate) sits above Hôtel MUST, and MUST above Hôtel des Coutellier (parking on site). Champlain sits above the Monastère on 38 (the lower guest parking price), Hôtel 71 above Auberge Saint-Antoine and Le Germain on 33 (the lowest guest parking price), the Travelodge above the Château Frontenac and Manoir Victoria on 31 (free breakfast), and the Frontenac above the Manoir (a published parking price). The Québec Inn sits above Le Priori on 30 (parking on site), and on 28 the three with free breakfast above the Clarendon. The Hilton takes the last place on 26, ahead of six hotels outside the walls on its lower parking rate.
What's left out is deliberate. Room rates change daily, so they aren't scored. Neither are guest-review scores — they measure a stay in general, not a sail morning.
The ranking tells you which hotel makes the morning easiest. Your dates and your budget decide the rest, so price your own night before you book the winner.
No Old Port hotel prints a rate to leave the car while you cruise. By YQB, the Comfort Inn prices park-and-fly parking, and two JARO hotels sell it in a package. The Port’s own Louise Basin lot is the simple option; set your cruise length.
| #2 Comfort Inn Airport | — |
| The Port’s Louise Basin lot, C$84 for 7 days, C$165 for up to 30 | — |
The Comfort Inn’s row is Choice’s park-and-fly price, C$70 for up to 7 days or C$150 for up to 14, on top of your room; we count your hotel night and every cruise night. The page doesn’t mention cruises, and the cab across town to the terminal isn’t in the row. The Port of Québec’s own long-term passes at its Louise Basin lot, bought in its app: C$84 for 7 days and C$165 for up to 30. The Port doesn’t say how the days are counted; we count the day you park and the day you leave, which is our assumption, so check your dates in the app. The lot is a 15-minute walk from Terminal 84 and 12 minutes from Terminal 30, per the Port, which doesn’t say whether taxes are included.
For the options in town, see Québec City cruise parking, compared.
We checked 43 hotels in the Old Port, Old Québec, the suburbs and by YQB. These came closest, with their scores and the reason each fell short. Auberge Saint-Antoine, the Château Frontenac, Hôtel 71, Le Germain, the Monastère and Manoir Victoria are also on the splurge list.
| Hotel | Score | Why it missed |
|---|---|---|
| Palace Royal | 26 | An indoor pool in a tropical garden and Beffroi Steakhouse, just outside the walls, but parking is C$26 plus taxes a day, a dollar over the Hilton's, and JARO includes breakfast only at MUST and Lindbergh. |
| Delta Hotels Québec | 26 | A heated outdoor pool, open year-round, and self-parking at C$26.05 a day, a shade over the Hilton's, and breakfast comes only in a package. |
| Hotel PUR | 26 | A heated indoor pool and Table restaurant in Saint-Roch, but parking is C$27 a day, over the Hilton's, and it doesn't say breakfast is included. |
| Le Saint-Édouard | 26 | A heated indoor pool and NouVO in Saint-Roch, but breakfast is extra and parking is C$32 plus taxes a night, over the Hilton's. |
| Hôtel Château Laurier | 26 | An indoor saltwater pool and a St-Hubert on the Grande Allée, but self-parking is C$29 a day, over the Hilton's, breakfast isn't included, and the outdoor spas close October 5 to November 1, 2026. |
| Le Capitole | 26 | AAA Four Diamond at Place D'Youville, with a 9th-floor pool, but valet is paid at a rate it doesn't print, so it can't win the tie on parking, and breakfast isn't included. |
| Holiday Inn Express Sainte-Foy | 25 | A free breakfast and free outdoor parking by the Aquarium, but no pool and no shuttle. |
| Hôtel Lindbergh | 25 | A free breakfast and free parking in Sainte-Foy, but the outdoor pool is closed until summer 2027. |
| Hôtel & Suites Normandin | 25 | A free continental breakfast when you book direct, in Lebourgneuf, but the restaurant is nearby, not in the hotel. |
| Quality Suites | 25 | A free hot breakfast and free parking in Lebourgneuf, but nothing else for cruisers. |
| L'Hôtel du Vieux-Québec | 25 | On rue Saint-Jean inside the walls, but breakfast is extra and parking is off site at a price it doesn't print. |
| Home2 Suites by Hilton Quebec City | 23 | A free hot breakfast, free parking and an indoor pool 3.5 km from YQB, but it's the farthest band from the ship and nothing on the page is for cruisers. |
| Quebec City Marriott Downtown | 23 | At Porte Saint-Jean with three places to eat, but valet is C$39 a day and breakfast isn't stated as included. |
| Hotel Royal William | 23 | Mila Ristorante in Saint-Roch, but parking is nearby at a price it doesn't print, and it doesn't say breakfast is free. |
| Hôtel Repotel Aéroport | 10 | Free parking by the airport, but no breakfast and nothing for cruisers. |
| Hôtel Repotel Henri-IV | 10 | Free parking on the airport side of town, but no breakfast and nothing for cruisers. |
Not ranked: Four Points by Sheraton Québec Resort. Third-party listings report the Charlesbourg hotel closed, and we found no current page of its own.; Hôtel Le Concorde. Open, but we couldn't find its own site, only third-party listings, so nothing on it is verified.
None of the twenty runs a free airport shuttle. Two by YQB, Hôtel MUST and the Québec Inn, run a paid one without printing the fare.
The Port of Québec puts YQB 20 minutes from its docks and lists a C$41.40 flat daytime taxi fare between them. Uber and Lyft pick up at the airport. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes.

On our scoring it's Le Saint-Pierre, in the Old Port: it calls the cruise ships "just steps" away and includes breakfast when you book direct. The Comfort Inn Ancienne-Lorette, by YQB, is second, with park-and-fly parking at C$70 for 7 days and free breakfast, and Hôtel MUST, by the airport, is third, with free breakfast, a pool and a Stay, Park and Fly package.
Québec City has two cruise terminals, both in the Old Port, per the Port of Québec: Terminal 84, the Ross-Gaudreault terminal at 84 rue Dalhousie, and Terminal 30 at 300 rue de l'Estuaire. The Port's own schedules sometimes disagree on which wharf a ship uses, so your cruise documents settle it.
Only Le Saint-Pierre says so, calling the ships "just steps" away. Six more of our twenty are in the Old Port's Lower Town too: Hôtel des Coutellier, Port-Royal, Hôtel 71, Auberge Saint-Antoine, Le Germain and Le Priori. None of them gives a distance to the terminals, so we don't count the walk. Old Québec's Upper Town sits up the hill from the port.
In the Old Port if you can: both terminals are there, and seven of our twenty are in its Lower Town. By YQB suits a car you want to leave: the Comfort Inn prices park-and-fly parking, and Hôtel MUST and the Québec Inn sell a Stay, Park and Fly package, though none of those pages mentions cruises and the ride they include goes to the airport.
The Port of Québec sells long-term parking at its Louise Basin lot in its app: C$84 for 7 days or C$165 for up to 30, a 15-minute walk from Terminal 84, per the Port. By YQB, the Comfort Inn Ancienne-Lorette prices park-and-fly parking at C$70 for 7 days or C$150 for 14, and Hôtel MUST and the Québec Inn sell a Stay, Park and Fly package; none mentions cruises, so ask. No Old Port hotel prints a cruise parking rate.
None of our twenty runs a free one from YQB. Two by YQB, Hôtel MUST and the Québec Inn, run a paid airport shuttle without printing the fare. The taxi is the easy ride: C$41.40 flat by day between the airport and the port, per the Port, and more from 11 PM to 5 AM.
The Port of Québec lists a C$41.40 flat daytime taxi fare between the airport and its docks, about 20 minutes away, and the airport posts a higher night rate from 11 PM to 5 AM. Uber and Lyft pick up at YQB, and RTC route 80 runs to Saint-Roch for C$4.00, exact change. Princess and Holland America sell transfers without printing a Québec price.
The Port of Québec lists Crystal, Cunard, Holland America, Norwegian, Pearl Seas, Princess and Silversea among the lines that start or end cruises here. On its schedule from September 26, 2026, turnarounds include Holland America's Zuiderdam, Sapphire Princess, Queen Mary 2, Norwegian Jewel, Explora III and Pearl Mist. Your cruise documents confirm your terminal.
Canada's border agency recommends that US citizens travel with a valid passport, and US citizens don't need a visa or an eTA to fly in. Your cruise line's documents say what it needs for your sailing.
