Freedom is a good example of why category rank is a poor shortcut. A bigger interior, a family Ocean View and an aft-facing cabin solve different problems. Compare the problem first, then the fare.
The weird bargain is the room with no view at all
Freedom's inside categories make the class argument in one glance: Royal currently publishes the standard Interior at 162 square feet and the Spacious Interior at 340 square feet, up to six. Paying for more cabin does not require paying for more view.
Interior — 162 sq. ft.
162 square feet on Royal's current plan. For two people who spend most of the day elsewhere, cheap can be completely rational.
Promenade View — 153 sq. ft.
153 square feet on the current class material. You give up a little floor area for a window into the Royal Promenade — and gain a reason to remember the curtains.
Spacious Interior — 340 sq. ft.
340 square feet, up to six, with a separate hideaway bunk area. This is the category that breaks the assumption that 'inside' automatically means 'small.'
Privacy
Promenade windows look inward. The room across the way can look back. Curtains are part of the cabin strategy.
Freedom's strongest family category may not have a balcony
The ordinary Ocean View stays simple at 162 square feet. Ultra Spacious Ocean View changes jobs entirely: Royal currently publishes 293 square feet, up to six, with a dedicated bunk-bed area.

Forty-nine extra square feet can matter with three or four people. This is a space upgrade before it is anything else.

293 square feet, up to six, with a dedicated bunk-bed area. For a family, that sleeping separation may matter more than the fact that the cabin has a window.
One room or two?
At five or six people, compare this against two connecting cabins. One room can win price; two rooms usually win bathrooms and bedtime.

Royal currently publishes 188 square feet inside. This is the fare to write down before you let an aft location or a larger category talk you upward.
Spacious Balcony — buy the room
Do not assume 'Spacious' means the balcony itself is the upgrade. Check the exact current cabin dimensions and decide whether the added interior space solves anything for your party.
Sunset Balcony — buy the direction
The aft location is the reason to care. Price the wake view as its own feature rather than assuming the category is automatically better.
Connecting Balcony — buy the second room
For families, the real upgrade can be the cabin next door: another bathroom, another door and another sleep zone.
A suite where location is doing part of the selling
Royal currently publishes Freedom's JT Sunset Junior Suite at 299 square feet inside plus a 65-square-foot aft balcony, up to four. This one does not need marketing gymnastics: the room is substantially larger and the view changes with it.

This is a real room-size jump from the 188-square-foot standard balcony. The cabin does not need the word suite to prove it got bigger.
65-square-foot balcony
The balcony is larger than the standard balcony's published 46 square feet and faces aft. Room and view improve together.
The walk
Aft means you earn the wake with your feet. If your routine lives forward, that trade repeats several times a day.
The value test
Compare JT with the ordinary balcony and the next larger suite on your sailing. If the premium is mostly about the aft experience, put a daily dollar value on that experience.
Freedom gives families too many good options to shop by occupancy alone
Freedom can solve the same family with one huge inside, one family Ocean View, two connecting cabins or a suite. Occupancy tells you what Royal allows. Bathrooms and bedtime tell you what your family will actually enjoy.

Maximum published non-suite room in this comparison, no outside view. Great example of spending on function instead of scenery.
Ultra Spacious Ocean View
Smaller than Spacious Interior but adds real daylight and a dedicated bunk area. The better choice depends on how your family uses the room.
Two connecting cabins
Two bathrooms. Two doors. Two sleep zones. With older kids or grandparents, those may be more valuable than putting everyone into the largest single cabin you can find.
Suite
A suite can consolidate the party more elegantly. It can also cost more than two rooms that function better. Price the solution, not the label.
Freedom is old enough to reward deck-plan homework

A cabin sandwiched between residential decks is still the simplest noise-reduction strategy.
