Royal Caribbean Oasis ClassCabins & Suites

Oasis Class invented a cabin decision most ships still don't have: your balcony can face the ocean — or an entire neighborhood inside the ship.

Jewel of the Seas Cabins & Suites

Jewel may be the easiest Radiance-class ship to shop with a calculator. Interior and Ocean View both publish at 170 square feet. Standard Balcony moves to 179 inside. Spacious Balcony moves to 204. Spacious Sunset keeps that same 204-square-foot room and changes the location. Almost every premium can be translated into something concrete.

The Seabound rule:

Make the upgrade finish this sentence: 'I am paying more because I get ____.' A window. Nine interior square feet plus a balcony. Twenty-five more interior square feet. An aft-facing location. A second room. Two bedrooms. If the blank stays vague, keep your money.

01 • THE 30-SECOND ANSWER

Radiance has a cabin for the problem — not necessarily a straight upgrade ladder

Jewel's strength is not that every upgrade is worthwhile. It is that most of them are measurable. Start at 170, then make each higher fare explain itself.

02 • CURRENT CABIN MAP

Radiance rewards shoppers who compare functions instead of labels

The current Royal plan gives Jewel unusually useful purchasing data. That lets this guide separate real physical changes from category labels without leaning on sister-ship assumptions.

03 • INTERIORS

Radiance has one of the clearest solo-versus-standard comparisons in the fleet

Jewel's current standard Interior is 170 square feet, up to four. The accessible Interior is 258 square feet, up to three.

Interior — 170

The ordinary budget control. Up to four guests depending on exact cabin.

Accessible Interior — 258

Royal publishes a much larger accessibility-first footprint, up to three.

What the Interior establishes

Every upgrade above this should beat 170 square feet or add something else you can name.

Do not buy the adjective

Jewel is unusually measurable. If the next category does not add space, identify what it does add before paying.

04 • OCEAN VIEW

The word 'Spacious' creates the best trap on the ship

Standard Ocean View is also 170 square feet. On Jewel, Interior → Ocean View is one of the cleanest value tests in the class: same room size, added daylight.

Ocean View — 170

Up to four. Same current published floor area as standard Interior.

Interior → Ocean View

170 → 170. The measurable purchase is the window.

Accessible Ocean View — 276

Up to four, with an accessibility-first footprint.

Family reality

If your problem is space rather than daylight, standard Ocean View does not solve it. Move to a larger category or compare multiple cabins.

05 • BALCONIES

The room can stay fixed while the outdoor product moves

This is where Jewel becomes especially easy to price: 179 inside for the standard Balcony, 204 for Spacious, and 204 again for Spacious Sunset. The last step is about where the balcony faces, not a larger published room.

Ocean View Balcony — 179 + 20–41

Royal's current Jewel plan publishes 179 square feet inside with 20–41 square feet outside, depending on the cabin. Up to four. This is the control fare for private outdoor access.

Spacious Ocean View Balcony — 204 + 41

204 square feet inside plus a 41-square-foot balcony, up to five. Against the 179-square-foot standard interior, the measurable room-size gain is 25 square feet.

Connecting Ocean View Balcony — 179 + 41 each

179 + 41 per room, up to two each. Booking the pair creates 358 square feet inside and 82 outside across two connected cabins.

Spacious Sunset — 204 + 41

204 + 41, up to five. Royal's current published dimensions match Spacious Ocean View Balcony, so the upgrade case is the aft-facing location.

06 • FAMILY STRATEGY

Radiance gives families three genuinely different answers

For families, the clean comparison is 204 square feet behind one door versus 358 square feet across two connecting balcony cabins versus the two-bedroom Owner's Suite. Space, bathrooms and privacy matter more than category prestige.

Spacious Balcony — 204 / up to five

One-door simplicity with a larger standard balcony-room footprint.

Connecting Balconies — 358 total

Two 179-square-foot rooms create 358 total interior square feet, plus two 41-square-foot balconies: 82 square feet outside. More importantly, you get two rooms and two bathrooms.

Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom — 584 / eight

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms turn the top suite into a true group-layout product.

Force the suite to win

Put the two-bedroom Owner's Suite beside two connecting balconies. The suite wins on one-space group living and its huge 191-square-foot balcony; the connecting pair can win on separation, bathroom access and price.

07 • SUITES

The two-bedroom Owner's Suite is a layout purchase

The two-bedroom Owner's Suite is Jewel's clearest top-end layout purchase: 584 square feet inside, a 191-square-foot balcony, capacity for eight, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Junior Suite

Royal currently sells Junior Suite on Jewel as its entry suite product. Do not assume the word 'suite' settles the value question; compare the exact live dimensions, benefits and fare against a Spacious Balcony.

Grand Suite — 1 Bedroom

Royal currently sells the one-bedroom Grand Suite as a true suite product with living space, a full bathroom with tub and a private balcony. That is a layout-and-benefits purchase, not merely a fancier category name.

Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom — 584 + 191

Up to eight with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. At 191 square feet, its balcony alone is 21 square feet larger than a standard 170-square-foot Interior cabin's entire published floor area.

The Seabound comparison

A family suite has to beat the alternatives that matter: two doors, two bathrooms, privacy, total usable space and total fare. Multiple cabins remain the control.

08 • LOCATION & CABIN TRAPS

Radiance is a ship where location can be worth more than the category jump

Jewel's exact cabin number matters most when a guarantee, connecting pair, obstruction or aft location changes the thing you thought you were buying.

Spacious Sunset

Royal's current plan publishes 204 + 41, the same dimensions shown for Spacious Ocean View Balcony. The aft-facing location is the distinguishing feature.

Connecting balconies

Royal explicitly markets these as a way to get 'double' the space by booking both. Confirm both cabin numbers before treating them as a family solution.

Obstructed views

Royal's deck-plan key marks obstructed-view cabins. Check the exact symbol.

Guarantee cabins

If Royal assigns the cabin, you surrender exact-location control. That can matter when your whole reason for upgrading is location.

Accessible cabins

258-square-foot Interior Accessible and 276-square-foot Ocean View Accessible are designed around accessibility needs, not as general space hacks.

10 • THE RADIANCE UPGRADE LADDER

Every rung should have a noun attached

Jewel turns the entire cabin decision into a series of receipts. Every premium should show what came back in exchange.

Interior → Ocean View

170 → 170. Buy the window.

Ocean View → standard Balcony

170 → 179 inside, plus 20–41 square feet outside. Buy private air and a small interior gain.

Standard Balcony → Spacious Balcony

179 → 204 inside: 25 additional interior square feet. Published balcony becomes 41.

Standard Balcony → two Connecting Balconies

179 → 358 total interior square feet across two rooms, with two 41-square-foot balconies.

Spacious Balcony → Spacious Sunset

204 + 41 → 204 + 41. Buy the aft-facing location, not more published space.

Ordinary cabin → Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom

584 inside + 191 outside, up to eight. Buy bedrooms, bathrooms, group layout and a genuinely huge balcony.

11 • VALUE CALCULATOR

Price the thing that changes

Radiance is perfect for dollars-per-person-per-day math because so many upgrades can be reduced to one tangible benefit.

Royal Caribbean Add-On Value Calculator

Put the premium next to the window, 149 extra square feet, private balcony, aft wake, second bathroom or multi-bedroom layout.

14 • SOURCES & ACCURACY

Radiance facts stay Radiance facts

Senior factual pass checked the current Royal Jewel deck plan again, with special attention to the unusual 191-square-foot two-bedroom Owner's Suite balcony and the balcony-category measurements. No sister-ship dimensions were substituted.

Current standard cabins:

Interior 170/up to 4; Ocean View 170/up to 4; Interior Accessible 258/up to 3; Ocean View Accessible 276/up to 4.

Current balconies:

Royal's current Jewel plan publishes Ocean View Balcony at 179 inside + 20–41 outside/up to 4; Spacious Ocean View Balcony at 204 + 41/up to 5; Connecting Ocean View Balcony at 179 + 41/up to 2 each; and Spacious Sunset at 204 + 41/up to 5.

Current two-bedroom Owner's Suite:

584 square feet inside + 191 square feet outside, up to eight, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This was rechecked during the senior pass because Jewel's 191-square-foot balcony differs materially from Serenade's current 151-square-foot figure.

Deck-plan periods:

Royal regional surfaces show different first-period start dates, including May 29 and July 27, 2026, but agree on April 19, 2027 as the cutoff and April 26, 2027–April 17, 2028 as the next period.

Editorial rule:

Current Jewel primary-source facts control the page. Class similarity is context, never permission to copy a measurement from Radiance, Brilliance or Serenade.

Class-audit rule:

Current ship-specific Royal data wins. Class similarity is context, never permission to copy a measurement from a sister ship.
