Radiance of the Seas Cabins & Suites
Radiance makes its cabin logic unusually measurable. Standard Interior and standard Ocean View are both 170 square feet. The 108-square-foot Studio solves solo occupancy. Ultra Spacious Ocean View jumps all the way to 319 square feet and sleeps six. And once you reach a balcony, location and outdoor geometry begin to matter as much as the category name. Every worthwhile premium should have a reason you can point to.
Name the job before you pay the premium. Ocean View buys daylight. Ultra Spacious buys 149 more square feet plus family sleeping structure. Balcony buys private air. Aft buys the wake. A suite should solve bedrooms, bathrooms or group layout.
Radiance has a cabin for the problem — not necessarily a straight upgrade ladder
Radiance is not one smooth ladder. It branches: 108 square feet for a solo traveler, 170 for the standard baseline, 319 for a six-person family room, then balconies and suites where location and layout become the purchase.
Studio Interior
108 sq. ft., one full-size bed, one guest.
Interior
170 sq. ft., up to four.
Ocean View
170 sq. ft., up to four. Same standard footprint as Interior.
Ultra Spacious Ocean View
265 sq. ft., up to six with dedicated bunk space.
Ocean View Balcony
179 sq. ft. inside; Royal currently publishes 41 sq. ft. outside on Royal's published standard specification.
Spacious Sunset Balcony
204 + 41 sq. ft., up to two on the current plan.
Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom
584 + 151 sq. ft., up to eight, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Radiance rewards shoppers who compare functions instead of labels
The senior factual pass exposed why current primary sources matter: Royal's live plan now publishes Ultra Spacious Ocean View at 319 square feet. Older Royal material listed 319 as well, so the first-build 265 figure has been removed everywhere.
| Cabin | Current Radiance anchor | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|
| Studio Interior | 108 sq. ft., 1 | Solo occupancy. |
| Interior | 170 sq. ft., up to 4 | Budget baseline. |
| Ocean View | 170 sq. ft., up to 4 | Window/daylight. |
| Spacious Ocean View | 170 sq. ft., up to 2 | Do not assume 'Spacious' means larger here. |
| Ultra Spacious Ocean View | 319 sq. ft., up to 6 | 149 more sq. ft. + bunk area. |
| Ocean View Balcony | 179 + about 20–41 sq. ft., up to 4 | Private outdoor access; balcony varies. |
| Connecting Ocean View Balcony | 179 + 41 sq. ft., up to 2 each | Two-room logic if both are booked. |
| Spacious Sunset Ocean View Balcony | 204 + 41 sq. ft., up to 2 | 25 more inside + aft location. |
| Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom | 584 + 151 sq. ft., up to 8 | Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, group layout. |
Radiance has one of the clearest solo-versus-standard comparisons in the fleet
The 108-square-foot Studio and 170-square-foot standard Interior are not competing versions of the same cabin. They solve different occupancy problems.
Studio Interior — 108
One guest, one full-size bed. Its value is avoiding a room designed around two-to-four-person occupancy, not winning a square-foot contest.
Interior — 170
Up to four with Royal King configuration plus additional bedding where applicable. This is the multi-guest budget control.
Studio → standard Interior
The standard room adds 62 square feet — about 57% more floor area — but solo pricing can matter more than the geometry. Compare the actual fare.
Four people in 170
Royal permits it. That does not mean four people, luggage and one bathroom will feel generous. Capacity and comfort are different measurements.
The word 'Spacious' creates the best trap on the ship
Standard and Spacious Ocean View both publish at 170 square feet on the current plan. Ultra Spacious is the real size jump: 319 square feet, up to six, with bunk beds in a separate area.
Ocean View — 170
Up to four. Compared with standard Interior, you buy the window without buying another square foot.
Spacious Ocean View — 170
Up to two on the current plan. Same published floor area as standard Ocean View. Do not pay for the adjective without checking the exact reason for the category.
Ultra Spacious Ocean View — 319
Up to six with dedicated bunk area. This is a real 149-square-foot jump over standard Ocean View.
The family comparison
319 for six is useful. Two 170-square-foot rooms total 340 and can add another bathroom. Price both structures before deciding.
The room can stay fixed while the outdoor product moves
Royal's current plan publishes standard Ocean View Balcony at about 179 square feet inside while the balcony can run 41 square feet on Royal's published standard specification. That makes exact cabin selection part of the value.
Standard — 179 + 41
Up to four. The interior is the stable part; the outdoor geometry is not.
Connecting — 179 + 41
Up to two per room. Book both and the second room and bathroom matter far more than the balcony arithmetic.
Spacious Sunset — verify exact cabin
Up to two. The current booking surface confirms the aft-facing Spacious Sunset product. Use the live deck plan for the exact cabin geometry rather than assuming every spacious aft cabin shares one measurement.
Why aft is different here
Radiance is a scenery-first ship. Aft turns that scenery into a private wake view — but location comes with longer walks and should be chosen deliberately.
Radiance gives families three genuinely different answers
Radiance gives families a useful one-room-versus-two-room decision: 319 square feet with dedicated family sleeping structure, or two smaller cabins that may buy another bathroom and a closing door.
Standard room — up to four
170 square feet can work when the cabin is mostly for sleeping. It is the price benchmark, not automatically the comfort winner.
Ultra Spacious Ocean View — 319 / six
Adds 149 square feet over standard Ocean View and dedicated bunk space. Strong one-room family logic.
Two cabins
Two standard 170-square-foot rooms create 340 total interior square feet and potentially two bathrooms. That can beat one 319-square-foot family room operationally.
Two-bedroom Owner's Suite — 584 / eight
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms change the comparison completely. Now the suite is solving separation as well as capacity.
The two-bedroom Owner's Suite is a layout purchase
The two-bedroom Owner's Suite is not merely a bigger family room. At 584 square feet inside, it adds 265 square feet over Ultra Spacious plus two-bedroom/two-bathroom structure and a large balcony.
Owner's Suite — 2 Bedroom
584 + 151, up to eight. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms are the headline, not the suite name.
Versus Ultra Spacious
The suite adds 319 interior square feet over the 319-square-foot Ultra Spacious Ocean View, plus a large balcony, two-bedroom structure and higher capacity.
Versus multiple cabins
Two or three ordinary cabins may deliver more bathrooms and stronger privacy for less. Always force the suite to win the practical comparison.
Other suites
Radiance also carries other suite categories, including Junior, Grand, Owner's and Royal products. Exact current measurements belong with the live deck plan and the senior factual pass rather than borrowed sister-ship numbers.
Radiance is a ship where location can be worth more than the category jump
Scenery, aft geometry, connecting doors and obstruction markings can change the experience after the category is chosen.
The wake is the point. Make sure you actually want the longer walk and aft location before paying for it.
Royal currently publishes a published standard balcony specification of 41 square feet. Check the exact cabin.
Royal's deck-plan key identifies obstructed-view cabins. Never assume every outside-facing room has the same sightline.
Excellent when you own both sides. If you do not, decide whether the door location matters to you.
Accessible cabins can have very different footprints and are intended for guests who need those features. Do not treat them as a space hack.

Every rung should have a noun attached
Radiance becomes easy to shop when every premium has a noun attached: occupancy, window, 149 square feet, balcony, wake, bedroom or bathroom.
Gain 62 square feet and multi-guest capability. For a solo traveler, fare structure may matter more than space.
Keep the same published 170-square-foot standard footprint and buy a window.
Do not assume more floor area: both currently publish at 170. Check the exact category/location reason.
Gain 149 square feet, dedicated bunk space and capacity up to six.
Move from a window to private outdoor access; the standard balcony interior publishes at about 179.
Move aft for the wake. Verify the exact cabin dimensions on Royal's live plan before assigning a square-foot premium.
Trade one 319-square-foot room for potentially 340 total interior square feet and another bathroom.
Gain 265 interior square feet, a 151-square-foot balcony, another bedroom, another bathroom and capacity up to eight.
Price the thing that changes
Radiance is perfect for dollars-per-person-per-day math because so many upgrades can be reduced to one tangible benefit.

Radiance facts stay Radiance facts
Senior factual pass checked against Royal Caribbean's current Radiance deck plan and Royal's own published deck-plan material. The biggest correction was important: Ultra Spacious Ocean View is 319 square feet, not 265.
Studio Interior 108/1 guest; standard Interior 170/up to 4.
Current Royal plan: standard Ocean View 170/up to 4; Ultra Spacious Ocean View 319/up to 6 with bunk beds in a separate area. Spacious Ocean View remains a category where the exact live plan should be checked before assuming the adjective means more floor area.
Royal's published Radiance specification lists standard Ocean View Balcony at 179 + 41 and Spacious Ocean View Balcony at 204 + 45. Royal currently sells Spacious Sunset as an aft-facing spacious-balcony product; verify exact cabin geometry on the live plan.
Royal's published Radiance deck-plan specification lists 584 inside + 151 balcony, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Current Royal surfaces show different first-period start dates, including June 1, July 27 and August 1, 2026. This guide does not pretend one regional rendering is universal.
Current Royal pages control current category and occupancy claims. Older official Royal deck-plan material is used only where it supplies dimensions not exposed cleanly in the current text rendering; the guide says so rather than blending the two.
Current ship-specific Royal data wins. Class similarity is context, never permission to copy a measurement from a sister ship.
