Islander’s entertainment, the short version

Come for the bars and the clubs, not the slides.

We score Islander’s entertainment 5.5 out of 10, with nightlife the high point and shows, pools and family programming in the middle.

The line describes 13 bars and lounges, two original production shows and four free kids’ clubs for ages 3 to 17.

Hardware is light: one waterslide, three pools and pickleball. That’s the trade.

Two shows or three?

The line’s things-to-do page lists three productions, but its ship page calls two of them original productions and its package pages promise seats at “both Production Shows.” Plan on Caribbean Heat Remix and Conky Tonkin’, and treat Radio Margaritaville as a bonus if it’s on.

04

Live music, and the piano question

Thirteen bars and lounges by the line’s count, and here are the twelve it describes.

The line’s own pages promise live Latin music in Havana Daydreamin’, live music and comedy in Coral Reef Lounge, and Caribbean bands, steel drums and DJ sets on the sun deck.

They never mention a piano, though a 2024 guest review reported a pianist in Bubbles Up and a rock band in Hemisphere Dancer. That’s two years old — a report, not a promise.

If live piano matters to you, ask us to check the current lineup before you book — not after.

Line’s bars page, checked October 9, 2026. *Deck numbers come from secondary deck guides (CruiseMapper, eatsleepcruise) except Coral Reef (Deck 1) and the nightclub entrance (Deck 2), which the deck plan confirms. 2024 reports are eatsleepcruise observations, not current schedules.

Pools, the slide and the spa

Enough to fill a sea day, not enough to be the reason you sail.

Three pools on Deck 9: LandShark, 5 o’Clock Somewhere and the Tiki Pool, which is adults only (18+). Deck numbers come from secondary guides and match the line’s FAQ, which puts the smoking area on Deck 10 overlooking the LandShark Pool.

Caribbean Amphibian Play Pad & Slide on Deck 11: an elevated play space, one waterslide and a splash pad, though height and age rules aren’t published.

St. Somewhere Spa: Swedish massage $179, couple’s massage $299 for two, Mom & Me mani-pedi $199 for two, plus the 20% service charge.

Cabanas rent from $799 per cruise, rain or shine, and can’t be refunded. Claim yours at the Shore Excursion Desk.

08

Kids and teens

Four clubs cover ages 3 to 17 — though the line’s two pages disagree on Jolly Mon’s cutoff, so confirm it.

The line calls the clubs complimentary. Its FAQ lists “kids club fees” as not included, which likely means after-hours care; no amount is published.

No program for children under 3 is published, and club hours aren’t posted — the line points you to the onboard Cruise News.

Teens get The Far Out plus the Far Side of the World arcade and lounge, and tweens get The Hang Out. If your child sits on a boundary age, like a 6-year-old, ask which club will take them.

Character breakfast

Parrots, Pirates and Pancakes is sold before you sail, though the line doesn’t list the price on its kids page.

Most of Islander is walk-in, but a handful of things aren’t.

Shows, theme nights, game shows, pools and the kids’ clubs — no show reservation system is published, so arrive early.

One-off

Sold separately

VIP packages for the January 28, 2027 Zac Brown Band concert in Nassau — a single night for the three ships in port, not something on your regular sailing.

10

How Islander compares

Her hull is a Spirit-class platform, per Wikipedia, so Carnival Spirit is the natural yardstick, and Islander scores higher overall.

Newer, bigger ships like MSC Seashore and Carnival Celebration stay well ahead overall. That gap is the price of a smaller, themed ship.

Seabound entertainment scores, same seven-category rubric for every ship.

11

The verdict on Islander’s entertainment

She suits you if

  • You want a lively bar scene on a short trip.
  • Your kids span 3 to 17 and each needs their own club.
  • Buffett-flavored shows and theme nights sound like fun, not kitsch.
  • A pool day and a pickleball game are all the action you need.

Skip her if

  • A ropes course, surf simulator or slide complex is non-negotiable.
  • You want a big-budget headline show every night.
  • You need a guaranteed piano bar.
  • You have a baby or toddler under 3 and need childcare.

Quick answers

What is Islander’s Seabound entertainment score?

5.5 out of 10 (weighted 5.54). Nightlife is her strongest category at 6.5; production shows, recreation and family entertainment are her lowest at 5.0 each. It’s an editorial rating, not a guest review average.

What shows are on Margaritaville at Sea Islander?

The line names Caribbean Heat Remix and Conky Tonkin’ At Sea as its two original productions, and its things-to-do page also lists Radio Margaritaville: Live at Sea. All play in the three-story Stars On The Water Theater and are included in the fare. Schedules aren’t published.

Does Islander have a piano bar?

The line doesn’t mention one. A 2024 guest review reported a pianist in Bubbles Up Lounge and a rock band in Hemisphere Dancer, but that isn’t a current guarantee. Ask an advisor to check before you book.

How many bars are on Islander?

The line’s bars page says 13 bars and lounges and describes 12 of them, including the three-story LandShark Bar, the adults-only Tiki Bar, Hot, Hot, Hot Night Club and Bubbles Up champagne bar.

Does Islander have a waterslide?

Yes, one. The Caribbean Amphibian Play Pad & Slide pairs a waterslide with an elevated play space and splash pad. Height and age rules aren’t published.

Are Islander’s kids’ clubs free?

The line calls its four clubs complimentary: Jolly Mon, Parakeets, The Hang Out and The Far Out, for ages 3 to 17. The FAQ lists kids club fees as not included, likely for after-hours care, without an amount. No under-3 program is published.

What ages are Islander’s kids’ clubs?

Islander’s 2024 release says Jolly Mon 3 to 5, Parakeets 6 to 9, The Hang Out 10 to 12 and The Far Out 13 to 17. The line’s current fleet kids page gives Jolly Mon as 3 to 6, so confirm the band for your child.

Is the Tiki Pool on Islander adults only?

Yes. The line’s 2024 entertainment release describes the Tiki Pool as adults only, 18 and over. The Tiki Bar and its two food venues are also 18+.

What entertainment costs extra on Islander?

The mixology class ($34.99), wine tasting ($29.99), spa treatments, cabanas from $799, drinks and casino play. Shows, pools, the slide, activities and the kids’ clubs are included.

Will Zac Brown Band perform on Islander?

Not on regular sailings. The band plays a one-time concert in Nassau on January 28, 2027 for guests of the three Margaritaville ships in port that day; Islander reaches it on a five-night Tampa round trip calling at Freeport and Nassau.
