Havnekontoret is first because it does the two things that matter most on the night before. It’s the closest hotel in our list to Skolten, about 450 m in a straight line, and Strawberry puts breakfast and a seasonal evening buffet in the room rate.
The building was Bergen’s harbour office, which suits a cruise night. There’s a gym and a sauna, and the airport bus stops outside.
The catch is parking. Strawberry names an indoor garage 10 m away with no price, and nothing about leaving a car for a week. Come without one if you can.
Book it if
- You want dinner and breakfast covered
- You want to walk to Skolten in the morning
- You’re bringing a dog
Look elsewhere if
- You need confirmed parking for the week of the cruise
- Your ship is a Hurtigruten coastal voyage from Jekteviken; a centre hotel splits the difference
- You want a pool

Which quay
SkoltenMeasured to Skolten, where Bergen Havn’s ocean-cruise turnarounds happen, Havnekontoret is about 450 m in a straight line. For a Hurtigruten coastal voyage you want the Jektevik Terminal instead, about 750 m away. Your documents name the quay; the Bergen cruise guide has the rest.

KlosterGarasjen, up to NOK 280 a dayThere’s no cruise car park at Skolten or Jekteviken that we could find. Scandic quotes the same garage at NOK 300 per 24 hours, so check the sign.
