Night-Before Score
The verdict

The Alvear Palace is the one for a grand old Recoleta night. A heated pool on the 11th floor, a Spa & Fitness Center, L’Orangerie and a roof bar, per the hotel.

It ties the Four Seasons and Sofitel on points and ranks behind them, because it’s the furthest of the Recoleta three — about 1.9 km from the terminal by our map. Breakfast comes in packages, so book one if you want it.

Book it if

  • You want a grand old hotel more than a modern tower
  • You want a Recoleta stroll after dinner
  • You want a pool and spa

Look elsewhere if

  • You’re bringing a pet
  • You want a shorter taxi to the port

From EZE without a hotel shuttle

Holland America puts Ezeiza about 42 km and 50 minutes from the pier, traffic allowing, with taxis, Uber, Didi and Cabify all on hand, and gives about ARS 35,000 for the ride; an April 2026 report saw ARS 50,000 on Taxi Ezeiza’s stand sign. Tienda León’s bus runs to its Carlos Pellegrini terminal for ARS 16,500 a person. The airport page has the fares.

Which quay

the terminal

Ships embark at the Quinquela Martín terminal on Av. Ramón Castillo, inside the working Puerto Nuevo port zone. Alvear Palace is about 1.9 km from our pin for the terminal in a straight line, and about 2.9 km from Plaza de Mayo. That’s a taxi, not a walk. We found no official rule on walking out. Port guides advise against the approaches on foot, and Holland America lists no luggage storage at the pier. No source publishes the terminal’s exact position; the Buenos Aires cruise guide has the rest.
