Emperador Hotel Buenos Aires
A 265-room hotel on Libertador with an indoor pool, a spa, a gym and a restaurant, about 1.1 km from the terminal — by our map.
Pre-Cruise Hotels · Buenos Aires
Eleven places to stay before a Buenos Aires sailing, scored on what gets you to the terminal, not on reviews. The terminal sits inside a working port where walking the approaches is advised against, so every hotel is a taxi away. None puts breakfast in every rate, so distance and the evening decide it — in our scoring, at least.
Three taps and we’ll show your three picks.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. No hotel pays for a place here. Booking.com links earn us a commission, and they don’t change the order.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes, or a straight-line distance between our own map pins. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
There’s no cruise parking to price here, so the plan assumes you fly in.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes. Peso fares are as printed on October 12, 2026 and move fast.
The Emperador wins: about 1.1 km from the terminal, with an indoor pool, a spa, a gym and a restaurant — the fullest evening of the closest three. The Sheraton is second, the closest we ranked by our map at about 900 m, with two pools. Park Tower ties it on points and sits about 50 m further out — a gap our estimated pins can’t settle.
Narrow the eleven by what your night needs. Save the ones you like. Tick up to three to compare side by side — the order is ours, the shortlist is yours.
Why eleven? Those are the hotels whose own pages, or their brand’s, we could read for Retiro, Recoleta, the center, Puerto Madero and Ezeiza. Where a page left a gap we name the listing that filled it — but listings never score.
Add your sail date and the links open on the night before.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the cards below are the rides from the airport.
Three of the eleven publish a ride from Ezeiza and its price: the Ezeiza Marriott’s free shuttle, and paid cars from Marriott Downtown and Park Tower. Four Seasons lists a car service with no price. None runs a ride to the ship — among the eleven we read.
Ezeiza (EZE) · about 42 km and 50 minutes from the pier, per Holland America; taxi about ARS 35,000
The airport’s official taxi: prepaid fixed fares at stands in Terminals A and C, 24 hours, in pesos, dollars, euros or by card.
Ezeiza to Carlos Pellegrini 971, about an hour, per Tienda León. Then a short taxi to the port or your hotel.
Uber, Didi and Cabify are readily available, per Holland America.
Driving? There’s no public parking at the pier, per Holland America. The Ezeiza Marriott offers free parking with a night — but lists no long-term parking; city hotels print garage rates for your stay only.

Every distance ends at our pin for the Quinquela Martín terminal on Av. Ramón Castillo, and every one is a straight line — not a route. The terminal is inside a working port, so none of these is a walk with bags — whatever the map says.
Walking times are shown only to give a sense of scale; the terminal is inside the port, so plan on a taxi. The terminal pin and six hotel pins are our estimates from the address.
Five things make a Buenos Aires night before easy or hard. Here distance and the evening do the work — the other three score nothing for any hotel. Points come from the hotel’s own site or its brand’s.
Silence scores zero, not a guess. Booking sites don’t count, and a walking time to “the harbour” isn’t a walking time to a cruise quay.
By band, from the terminal: Retiro, to 1.2 km, 30; Recoleta, to 2 km, 25; the Microcentro and Puerto Madero, to 4 km, 20; the Ezeiza airport hotel 10. Every band is a taxi, because the terminal sits inside the working port. The Emperador calls itself Recoleta on its own site — it is 1.1 km from our pin, so it scores in the Retiro band.
A transfer the hotel runs or arranges, with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. A walk the hotel itself prints at half a mile or less 15. Nobody in Buenos Aires scores here. No hotel we read runs or prices a ride to the terminal.
A published rate to leave the car at the hotel while you cruise 20; offered, but unpriced or not guaranteed, 14. Day rates in a public garage don’t count. No hotel states one. The Ezeiza Marriott offers free parking with a night but also lists no long-term parking, so it stays at zero — until the hotel confirms it.
A breakfast the hotel says is included scores 10. No hotel includes it in every rate. Several hotels put breakfast in packages, and the Emperador’s and the Ezeiza Marriott’s are extra — per Hotels.com, not the hotels’ own sites.
Pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3, a sauna or spa 3, a gym 3. Six hotels score 12 of 15 and five score 9. Facts that come only from a listing, like Hotel Madero’s gym, don’t count.
Ties are broken in order: any published parking for your cruise, any stated ride to the ship, free breakfast, then the shorter straight-line distance to the terminal. The Sheraton and Park Tower tie on 39 and the Sheraton is about 50 m closer — by our pins. Four Seasons, Sofitel and the Alvear Palace tie on 37, and NH, Hotel Madero and the Alvear Icon on 29; distance orders both groups — and several of those pins are our estimates, so treat the order as close.
What’s left out is deliberate. Room rates move by the day, so they aren’t scored, and review scores neither. Distances are straight lines between our own map pins, not routed walks or drives, and we say so wherever they appear.
No hotel in our eleven sells parking for a cruise, and there’s no public parking at the pier — per Holland America.
In the city. Marriott prints $40 a day or $280 a week at the Sheraton and Park Tower, and $70 a day at Marriott Downtown; Hotels.com lists about US$35 a day at Hotel Madero. All of that is for your stay. Nobody says you can leave the car while you sail.
At Ezeiza. The Marriott offers free parking when you stay at least one night, but the same page lists no long-term parking. Get it in writing before you rely on it for a cruise; the port is about 50 minutes away — in traffic, per Holland America. With no published cruise rate, there’s no calculator here.
We checked this one and left it out:
| Hotel | Why it isn’t ranked |
|---|---|
| Hilton Buenos Aires | Puerto Madero. Hilton’s own pages wouldn’t load for us, and listings don’t score. |
Ezeiza is about 42 km and 50 minutes from the pier — depending on traffic, per Holland America. The Ezeiza Marriott runs a free shuttle around the clock, and Marriott Downtown and Park Tower sell cars from the airport. Four Seasons lists a car service without a price.
Landing at Aeroparque? It’s much closer — though it handles domestic and regional flights. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes, and the airport page has the fares and the landing check.
Tours, tickets and things to do are on Booking.com. Book the day before, not sail day.

On our scoring, the Emperador: about 1.1 km from the terminal in a straight line, with an indoor pool, a spa, a gym and a restaurant. The Sheraton is second and Park Tower third.
Of the eleven we ranked, the Sheraton, about 900 m in a straight line by our map. It’s still a taxi; the terminal is inside the working port.
Don’t plan on it. We found no official rule, but port guides advise against walking the port approaches. Take a taxi.
None of our eleven says breakfast is in every rate. Four Seasons, Sofitel, the Alvear Palace and the Alvear Icon include it in packages.
None sells cruise parking. The Ezeiza Marriott offers free parking with a night but lists no long-term parking, so get it in writing first.
