Splurge Hotels · Tokyo and Yokohama

Eight Grand Hotels, None at the Pier

Tokyo’s grand hotels sit in Marunouchi, Nihonbashi and Shiodome, and Yokohama’s at Minatomirai — none of them at a terminal. None of the eight prints a ride to the ship, and none of the pages we read printed an award, so we claim none.

Which kind of night do you want?

Eight hotels made this list, and each has a page of its own.

Tap the night you’re after and its hotel lights up. None of them ranks in our eighteen.

Each card sets what the hotel says it has against what you’ll sort out yourself.

We print no awards.

None of the pages we read gave a MICHELIN Key, a Forbes rating or a star, and we didn’t read those guides’ own pages. A blank here means unread, not lesser.

The Trade

The morning after the splurge

Nothing here is at a terminal, and none of the eight prints a ride to the ship. By our routing Park Hotel Tokyo is about 2.0 road miles from Harumi and Aman Tokyo about 3.7 — roughly 8 minutes with no traffic.

InterContinental Yokohama Grand is about 1.4 road miles from Osanbashi.

Fairmont suits you if Haneda is the other end of the trip — Accor puts the airport 13 minutes away by monorail. Mandarin Oriental says it arranges Haneda and Narita transfers, which helps on the flight days, not on sail morning.

Parking is thin. Fairmont lists on-site parking with no rate, and InterContinental Yokohama Grand lists a public lot of 1,154 spaces with a 2.1 m height limit — the rest say nothing we could find.

Tokyo's accommodation tax is ¥100 (about US$1) or ¥200 (about US$1) per person per night by room price, as the press reports it. The hotels page has the planned 3% change from fiscal 2027 — and says what we didn't read.

For Yokohama we state no rate.

Price the taxi to your pier before you pay for the room.

FAQ

Questions about the grand end

Do any of the eight carry a MICHELIN Key or a Forbes rating?

We can't say. None of the pages we read for these hotels printed a Key, a Forbes rating or an official star, and we didn't read MICHELIN's or Forbes' own pages — so this list claims no award.

Japan has no mandatory hotel star system.

If an award decides it for you, check the guide's own page.

Which grand hotel sits closest to a terminal?

None sits at one — and we don't rank them. By our routing the nearest of the seven in Tokyo to Harumi is Park Hotel Tokyo, about 2.0 road miles.

In Yokohama, InterContinental Yokohama Grand is about 1.4 road miles from Osanbashi.

Will one of these hotels get me to the ship?

None of the eight prints a transfer to a terminal.

Mandarin Oriental says it can arrange Haneda and Narita transfers, and InterContinental Yokohama Grand's access page lists airport buses — neither goes to a pier. From the Tokyo hotels our routing puts Harumi 6 to 9 minutes away with no traffic.

Ask about the pier, not only the airport.

Does the hotel tax reach the grand end too?

In Tokyo, yes: ¥100 per person per night for rooms of ¥10,000 to ¥14,999 (about US$65–95) and ¥200 from ¥15,000 (about US$95), as SoraNews24, Japan Travel and nippon.com report it. We didn't read the Metropolitan Government's page.

Tokyo plans 3% of the whole room rate for rooms of ¥13,000 (about US$80) or more from fiscal 2027, which needs the Tokyo Assembly and the national internal affairs minister to approve it.

For Yokohama we state no rate.

Can the car stay at the hotel while I sail?

Not that any of them prints. Fairmont lists on-site parking with no rate, and InterContinental Yokohama Grand lists a public lot of 1,154 spaces.

The Tokyo terminal's own lot is a 15-minute drop-off only — and Osanbashi has 400 spaces.

The parking page has the rest.
