The verdict

Los Acebos is the hill hotel on Quark’s shortlist. Quark names it as one of its three usual Ushuaia hotels, and the hotel runs its own shuttle to the city center.

Up here you get Corteza Restó, Kren Bar and a gym — you pay for them in distance. The hotel puts itself 2.5 km from the center, so the waterfront is a ride, not a stroll.

Breakfast inclusion and check-in times aren’t published. Ask about both before you book.

To the Ship

Getting here, and on to the ship

By our map estimate Los Acebos is about 6.1 km from Ushuaia Airport in a straight line, and about 2.4 km from the pier gate. Every question mark below is a ride you book yourself.

From USH without a hotel shuttle

There’s no public transport from the airport to town, per Turismo Ushuaia: you take a taxi (metered), a remis (a fixed fare booked by phone) or a transfer. Neither publishes a fare. Some expedition lines include the airport transfer (Quark does airport to hotel), so check your documents. The only price we found is for one hotel van. The airport page has what is and isn’t published.

Which quay

the pier gate

Measured to the pier gate on Av. Maipú, opposite Lasserre street, Los Acebos is about 2.4 km away in a straight line. Oceanwide says Ushuaia has only one pier and you show your boarding pass to get on it. CNN Español describes the terminal’s pier as 550 m long and shared with commercial, fishing and scientific vessels — where your ship berths is for your line to confirm. Lines such as Quark bus you from a meeting point near the pier. The Ushuaia cruise guide has the rest.

Distance

~2.4 km, straight line

About 2.4 km from the pier gate between our map pins, roughly 39 minutes on foot at an easy pace. That’s our estimate, not the hotel’s.

Airport bus

Not stated

Turismo Ushuaia is clear that no public transport runs from the airport; that leaves a taxi, a remis or your line’s transfer.
