Cruise Line Status Match Guide (2026)

Category 1: Corporate Families WITH Cross-Brand Status Matching

Royal Caribbean Group — BEST cross-brand matching

Brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea - Full one-for-one tier matching across all three brands (Crown & Anchor ↔ Captain's Club ↔ Venetian Society) - Matched status is permanent — it does not expire or need re-requesting - Points Choice (launched Jan 30, 2026): earn points sailing any of the three brands and direct them to the loyalty program of your choice, using published exchange rates - Points themselves are earned separately per brand unless transferred via Points Choice - Some earned-status-only perks (free milestone cruises, Zenith/Pinnacle amenities) are excluded for matched members - How to match: via the Royal Caribbean or Celebrity app under Loyalty → Loyalty Match (Silversea uses an online form)

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) — per-cruise honoring only

Brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises - "Loyalty Status Honoring Program" launched Oct 15, 2025 - Status is honored at the closest corresponding tier — but only per cruise, and you must request it before each sailing - After the cruise, you revert to your actually-earned tier with that brand (within ~7 days) - Points never transfer between programs - March 2026 downgrade: NCL Ambassador members are now capped at Diamond (Oceania) and Titanium (Regent) — the top tiers of Oceania and Regent are reserved for guests who earned them on those lines - If you hold status with multiple brands, the highest is honored

MSC Group — internal matching plus the industry's only permanent external match

Brands: MSC Cruises, Explora Journeys - MSC Voyagers Club ↔ Explora Club matching between the sister brands (MSC's first two tiers map to Explora's first level, since MSC has six tiers and Explora five) - MSC also matches status from outside its family — other cruise lines, hotels, airlines, tour operators — on a rolling, year-round basis (one-time per lifetime request) - Explora also accepts matches, one request per member (~10 business day processing) - Daisy-chain strategy: match another line's status into MSC, then use your new MSC tier to match into Explora

Category 2: Corporate Family WITHOUT Cross-Brand Status Matching

Carnival Corporation — no loyalty matching between its brands

Brands: Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard, Seabourn, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK) - Each brand runs a completely independent loyalty program; Carnival has publicly confirmed (via Brand Ambassador John Heald) it will NOT unify or match status across brands - A Diamond Carnival cruiser starts at the bottom of Princess Captain's Circle, and vice versa - Limited exceptions: - Holland America automatically enrolls past guests of sister brands (Carnival, Princess, Cunard, Seabourn, Costa) as Star Mariner on their first HAL booking - Casino programs DO match: Carnival Players Club "Fun Match," Princess/Holland America Ocean Players Club, all match land-based and competitor casino status

Category 3: Independent Lines (no sister brands to match)
