Pre-Cruise Hotels · Barcelona
Eighteen hotels for a Barcelona cruise, from the World Trade Center to the Eixample and the airport side, scored on what gets you to the ship, not on reviews. Eighteen is all that qualified — we say why below.
Three taps and we’ll show your best three hotels.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. Nobody pays to be here.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, beach, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links (transfers, rental cars, luggage storage) may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes.
No hotel we checked runs a shuttle to a cruise terminal, prints a rate to leave your car or says breakfast is included. So the podium comes down to distance and the evening — not perks. Grand Marina leads on 36, about 1.8 road miles from the Moll Adossat point and under 0.1 from WTC Barcelona by our routing. All three waterfront hotels tie on points: Grand Marina has parking on site and Duquesa de Cardona doesn’t, and the alphabet puts Duquesa de Cardona ahead of Serras.
Narrow the eighteen by what your night needs. Save the ones you like. Tick up to three to compare side by side — the order is ours, the shortlist is yours.
Why eighteen, not twenty? We read 26 hotels, from the WTC to the airport side, and eighteen were open and published enough on their own sites to score. The two we left out are in the not-ranked list, each with the reason.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the companies below run from the airport to the port.
Barcelona–El Prat · about 10.0 road miles to the Moll Adossat and 8.8 to WTC Barcelona, our routing from the airport’s reference point
The AMB's T-4 tariff fixes the airport–Moll Adossat cruise dock run at €46 in both directions, all surcharges included. Official taxis are black and yellow, with ranks opposite arrivals at T1 and T2. For WTC Barcelona the normal meter runs instead.
The A1 (T1) and A2 (T2) run around the clock to Plaça Espanya and Plaça Catalunya. From there it's metro L3 to Drassanes, then the Cruise Bus from its stop next to the WTC to terminals A to E — workable with light bags, slow with heavy ones.
Carnival's airport-to-pier transfer is from US$39.99 a person, for flights landing by 12:00 PM, non-refundable. Princess meets you at the airport, no price printed; Royal Caribbean and NCL sell transfers at an extra fee; Virgin lists a private Mercedes to the airport after the cruise from US$160 a car.
Uber lists pickups at BCN, including UberX, Comfort, Van and a regulated 'Taxi XL Precio Cerrado' for more than four riders. The AMB also allows a fixed T-3 fare booked through taxi apps.
Our routing gives about 10 road miles from the airport's reference point to the Moll Adossat terminals. At the port end there's a snag: the port doesn't allow long-stay parking in the cruise area, and WTC Barcelona's car park is €29 (about US$35) a day.
Driving? The column to watch is “While you sail”. Compare hotel parking with the options on Barcelona cruise parking, or price it out in the parking math below.

These eighteen are ranked for an easy sail morning, not for the room. The nicer nights are on the splurge list. Mandarin Oriental holds Two MICHELIN Keys and Forbes' Five-Star; Serras on the waterfront, Miramar on Montjuïc and Hotel Arts each hold One Key. None runs a cruise shuttle — the splurge buys the evening, not the morning.
Every distance here is road miles by our routing, not a straight line. We measure to two points we label on every page — the Moll Adossat terminal road, where A, B, C, D, E and the MSC terminal sit, and WTC Barcelona on the Moll de Barcelona. The port publishes no coordinates, so treat the figures as approximate, not exact — a ship at the far end of the Adossat adds a little more.
Three are on the Port Vell waterfront, about 1.8 to 2.1 miles. Eight are in the old town or on Montjuïc, about 2.3 to 2.8 miles. Four are further across the centre, about 3.2 to 3.7 miles. Two are at Sants or in the Eixample, about 3.9 miles. One is on the airport side in L'Hospitalet, about 5.2 miles. The Eixample and Sants hotels are here for a reason, not to fill space — they're where the trains and the Aerobús stop.
Change is scheduled. Under the city–port agreement of July 17, 2025, the WTC South terminal is to close and Terminal C to be demolished at the end of 2026 — betevé, the city's broadcaster, reported in June 2026 that C's demolition starts in November. A new Terminal G is due in 2027, and A and B are to come down in the second half of 2028. On October 3, 2026 the port's own site still listed all seven.
Numbers are the ranking. Each pin sits where the hotel is — the bands group them by distance, the way we score it.
Five things make a Barcelona night before easy or hard. We score each one only from what the hotel publishes on its own site or its brand’s — Serras, whose site we couldn’t reach, is scored from MICHELIN’s listing and says so.
If a hotel doesn’t say it, it scores zero there — no benefit of the doubt. A transfer “on request” with no destination or price is information, not points. A guest review quoted on a hotel’s page isn’t the hotel talking.
By band, in road miles to the Moll Adossat point by our routing: Port Vell waterfront (1.8 to 2.1 miles) 30; Old town and Montjuïc (2.3 to 2.8 miles) 25; Across the centre (3.2 to 3.7 miles) 20; Sants and the Eixample (3.9 miles) 15; L'Hospitalet, airport side (5.2 miles) 10.
Hotel-run shuttle, free or with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. The hotel says you can walk to a cruise terminal, or prints half a mile or less, 15. A ride through a named partner 10. None of the eighteen scores here.
Published rate to leave the car 20. Offered, price unpublished 14. None of the eighteen scores here either.
A breakfast the hotel says is included scores 10. None says so outright: Granados 83 and Kimpton Vividora include it only in some rates, and Barceló Sants says it isn’t included.
Pool 3 (plunge pools count; a jacuzzi or whirlpool doesn’t), food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3. No beach points (6 at our US ports): none of the hotel pages we read describes its own beach access.
Ties are broken in order: the lower published parking rate, any stated way to the ship, free breakfast, parking on site, then the shorter road distance to the Moll Adossat point by our routing (no hotel states one), the lower guest parking price, then the alphabet. On 36, Grand Marina has parking on site and Duquesa de Cardona doesn’t, and the alphabet puts Duquesa de Cardona ahead of Serras. On 31, Miramar is the shorter drive, about 2.3 road miles to 2.5, and Hotel 1898 has parking on site and Grand Hotel Central doesn’t; one more shares the score. On 28, Le Méridien has parking on site and Hotel Neri doesn’t, and Hotel Neri is the shorter drive, about 2.7 road miles to 2.8; one more shares the score.
We leave room rates out of the score because they move daily, and guest-review scores too. The tourist tax isn’t scored either, but each hotel page prints the rate that applies to its category.
Check two things yourself. First, whether a taxi reaches the door — parts of the Gothic Quarter are lanes. Second, air conditioning. Not one of the hotel pages we read states it.
None of the eighteen sells a way to leave the car while you sail on its own site, and the port doesn’t allow long stays in the cruise area. Book the car park, not the hotel garage. Every published rate is below.
At the hotels. Nothing for cruisers. Just nightly rates. Several print nightly parking — Catalonia Barcelona Plaza €27 a day, W Barcelona €30 (about US$35), Grand Hotel Central’s Saba car park €37 (about US$40), Grand Marina €38 (about US$45), Le Méridien €47.19 (about US$55) — and Le Méridien also prints €330.33 (about US$370) a week, without saying a cruise counts.
At the port. The port says long stays aren’t allowed in the cruise area; private cars can drop off and pick up. Palacruceros adds a hard rule. No vehicle may stay overnight from 23:00 to 07:00. Creuers says there’s no public parking on the Moll Adossat — but there is an underground car park at the WTC.
The published rates. WTC Barcelona’s cruise parking is €29 for 1 day, €58 (about US$65) for 2, €90 (about US$100) for 7 and €12.50 (about US$14) for each extra day — VAT included, per WTC. Parking Viajeros, on Carrer de Carreras i Candi near Sants, prints €9.50 (about US$11) a calendar day if you reserve — no cruise shuttle stated. Both are in the calculator.
| WTC Barcelona car park, per WTC (VAT included) | — |
| Parking Viajeros near Sants, €9.50 a calendar day if you reserve, plus a taxi to the ship | — |
Days parked are your cruise nights plus one. WTC prints 1, 2 and 7 days and €12.50 for each day after that — our total for 8 days or more is €90 plus €12.50 a day, our arithmetic. For 3 to 6 days WTC prints nothing, so the row falls back to €29 a day, which may overstate it.
Every option side by side: Barcelona cruise parking, compared.
We checked 26 hotels: twenty for the ranking and six more for the splurge list. Two of the twenty didn’t make it.
| Hotel | Why it isn’t ranked |
|---|---|
| Ohla Barcelona, Via Laietana | Bookable on Booking.com, but its own site timed out twice and we collected no facts from the hotel, so there was nothing to score. |
| BAH Barcelona Airport Hotel, El Prat | Everything we have comes from a Travelzoo package listing, including a free 24-hour airport shuttle. We found no site of its own, so it isn't ranked — confirm that shuttle with the hotel. |
No hotel we ranked publishes an airport shuttle. The airport is about 10.0 road miles from the Moll Adossat point and 8.8 from WTC Barcelona by our routing. Creuers says about 15 km.
The fixed T-4 taxi fare covers the airport to the Moll Adossat for €46 — all surcharges included. That's the default. The Aerobús runs around the clock to Plaça Espanya and Plaça Catalunya, and Bus 46 links Plaça Espanya with both terminals. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes; the airport page has the transfers and the landing check.
Tours, tickets and things to do are on Booking.com. Book the day before, not sail day.
Booking.com links are affiliate links: Seabound Journeys may earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. It doesn’t change what we recommend. Affiliate disclosure.
On our scoring it's Eurostars Grand Marina (World Trade Center, Moll de Barcelona). By our routing it's about 1.8 road miles from the Moll Adossat terminal road and under 0.1 from WTC Barcelona. Duquesa de Cardona is second and Serras third. No hotel here publishes a cruise shuttle, a cruise-parking rate or an included breakfast, so distance and the evening decide it.
Because we rank only what we could check, not what a listing claims. We read 20 hotels near the port, the old town, Sants and the airport side, plus six splurge picks, on their own sites or their brand's. Eighteen published enough to score. Ohla Barcelona's own site timed out, and the BAH airport hotel is documented only by a Travelzoo listing, so neither is ranked — we'd rather run short than pad the list.
Barcelona has seven cruise terminals on two quays. Six are on the Moll Adossat — A, B, C, D (Palacruceros), E (Helix) and the MSC terminal, 2 to 3.9 km from the city, per the port — and WTC Barcelona sits at the World Trade Center, 400 m from the city. The port gives Carnival group ships preferential use of D and E, MSC owns its terminal outright, and Princess names E-Helix. Your line's documents name yours.
Not to the Moll Adossat with luggage. No hotel prints a walking distance to any terminal. The port puts those terminals 2 to 3.9 km from the city, and Palacruceros says the walk from Drassanes metro takes about 40 minutes. The Cruise Bus covers it from a stop next to the WTC — €3.50 one way. WTC Barcelona itself is 400 m from the city, per the port.
None of the eighteen sells it on its own site. Le Méridien prints a weekly self-parking rate of €330.33 — without saying it's for cruisers, so ask. The published option is WTC Barcelona's car park: €29 for a day, €90 for 7 days and €12.50 for each extra day, VAT included. The port doesn't allow long stays in the cruise area.
€46 to the Moll Adossat, fixed and in either direction, on the AMB's T-4 tariff — all surcharges included. To WTC Barcelona and to hotels the meter runs, with a minimum of €21.00 (about US$25) for any taxi from the airport.
None of our eighteen runs a free one from BCN. The airport is about 10.0 road miles from the Moll Adossat by our routing. The AMB's fixed T-4 taxi fare is €46 to the Moll Adossat, all surcharges included, and Carnival sells a transfer from US$39.99 a person.
From April 1, 2026, Catalonia's Law 2/2026 sets €7 (about US$8) a person a night at Barcelona 5-stars and €3.40 (about US$4) at 4-stars, and the city adds €5 (about US$6) until March 31, 2027 — €12 (about US$13) and €8.40 (about US$9) in all. Catalan News put other establishments at €7 in total. The city surcharge rises to €6 (about US$7) in April 2027. Grand Hotel Central prints €13.20 (about US$15) for its own guests, for up to seven nights, under-17s exempt — ask your hotel what it collects.
Rates change daily — any figure we printed would be stale by the time you read it. We rank on what holds still. That's distance, parking, breakfast and the evening, not price.
