Night-Before Score
The verdict

Byparken is for big families. Scandic sells a Family Four room, a junior suite for five and a presidential suite for six, and the airport bus stops right outside.

It scores low because there’s no restaurant listed and breakfast depends on the rate. Skolten is about 1.3 km off.

If you’re six people who’d rather share one room, start here.

Book it if

  • You need one room for five or six
  • You’re coming by Bybanen

Look elsewhere if

  • You want dinner in the building
  • You want to walk to the ship

Getting here, and on to the ship

By our map estimate Scandic Byparken is about 12.4 km from Flesland in a straight line, and about 1.3 km from Skolten. Every question mark below is a ride you book yourself.

Which quay

Skolten

Measured to Skolten, where Bergen Havn’s ocean-cruise turnarounds happen, Scandic Byparken is about 1.3 km in a straight line. For a Hurtigruten coastal voyage you want the Jektevik Terminal instead, about 650 m away. Your documents name the quay; the Bergen cruise guide has the rest.

In town

KlosterGarasjen, up to NOK 280 a day

There’s no cruise car park at Skolten or Jekteviken that we could find. KlosterGarasjen, on Vestre Murallmenning, is the garage Visit Bergen puts closest to the coastal-voyage terminal: NOK 26 to 52 an hour, capped at NOK 280 a day, with 3-, 7-, 14- and 30-day passes. Scandic quotes the same garage at NOK 300 per 24 hours, so check the sign.
