The Renaissance is the only AAA Four Diamond hotel in our top ten, and it's closer to the ship than anything in Waikiki. AAA lists it Four Diamond for 2026, with a 25-meter lap pool, two whirlpools, the Nami Spa's ofuro baths and cold plunge, and kitchens with in-room laundry in its studios and residences.
It opened in March 2024 on Kapiolani Boulevard, a few blocks from Ala Moana Center — about 1.9 miles from Pier 2 by road, our estimate, roughly half the ride from central Waikiki.
Fifth place comes down to breakfast, which isn't included, and parking is valet only at $59 a day. Pets aren't allowed.
Book a residence if you'll wash clothes on the way home — a washer in the room beats a coin laundry after a week at sea.
Book it if
- Swimmers who want a real lap pool
- Spa people
- Families who want a kitchen
Look elsewhere if
- You travel with a pet.
- You want breakfast included.
- You want the beach the night before.
