The verdict

SpringHill Suites on Newtown Road closes out our twenty on breakfast and a free parking space. The hot buffet is free and runs 7 to 10 every day, parking costs nothing, and there's an indoor heated pool — about 7 road miles from the terminal by our routing.

Every room is a suite, King, two doubles or two queens, with a pull-out trundle bed. That's the draw for a family that needs one more bed.

There's no restaurant and no shuttle. Marriott names Airport Connection at $21 one way for ORF, 5.0 miles off by its count, and you must be 21 to check in.

Book it for the trundle bed and the late breakfast, then take I-264 downtown or leave the car at Cedar Grove.
