Hotel Plaza is the one hotel we checked that sells you the ride to the ship on its own site. It arranges a transfer to the Venice port or Piazzale Roma "from € 40", and puts Marittima 10 minutes away and Fusina 20 — by our routing that's about 5.8 and 6.6 road miles from the door on Viale Stazione.
That transfer is the whole reason it tops our list. Nothing else in Mestre or the centre publishes a way to the ship with a price on it.
Read the fine print, though — the hotel doesn't say whether €40 (about US$45) covers the car or each person, and breakfast inclusion isn't stated either. Parking is Star Parking behind the building at €14 (about US$16) for 24 hours, not bookable.
Book it if you want the morning handled, and ask for the transfer price in writing when you reserve.
Book it if
- You want the hotel to book the ride to the ship
- You're arriving by train at Mestre
- Four of you need one room — Nova rooms take 4
Look elsewhere if
- You want to walk to the ship — it's a drive.
- You need breakfast in the rate, which the hotel doesn't promise.
- You're parking for a week on a spot you can't book.
