Virgin Scarlet Lady Dining, Decoded

Virgin Scarlet Lady was the line's first ship, and her dining architecture is genuinely different from anything else in this project: no main-room-plus-buffet structure, just a roster of themed restaurants your fare already covers. The Test Kitchen (chef-driven, rotating tasting menus), The Wake (steak and seafood), Extra Virgin (Italian trattoria), Gunbae (Korean tabletop BBQ), and Pink Agave (upscale Mexican) sit alongside The Dock & The Dock House (Mediterranean mezze) and The Galley, an 8-plus-station food hall that's Virgin's answer to a buffet without the steam-tray line. None of it carries a cover charge.

Her one real differentiator against her three sisters is the evening concept inside the Razzle Dazzle footprint. Since December 2024, Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle has run the dinner service there — a Chinese-inspired program layered onto the vegetable-forward Razzle Dazzle daytime menu, one physical venue scored once. It's a strong program, but she has no ticketed dinner show of her own — unlike each of her three sisters, none of Virgin's current per-ship dinner shows runs on Scarlet Lady.

All of that lands Scarlet Lady at 7.6, in a headline tie with Resilient Lady — Resilient leads narrowly on the full decimal, 7.640 to 7.600. Suite & Restricted Dining sits at 1.0: Virgin does not operate a dedicated restaurant for RockStar or Mega RockStar guests on this ship, or on any Lady Class ship, which is a real structural fact about how Virgin builds its dining model, not a gap she's failing to close.

Included Dining is Scarlet Lady's strongest category at 8.5 — an ecosystem read on a roster that would be called specialty dining almost anywhere else in this project, all covered by fare. Value tracks right alongside it at 8.5, grounded in that same structural fact: the core roster of full-service, food-hall, and quick-service venues is fare-included, which is the real driver here, not any gap in published pricing.

Variety reads 8.2, a category judgment on the real range aboard — steakhouse, Italian trattoria, Korean BBQ, Mexican, Mediterranean, a Chinese-inspired evening concept, and a food hall, all before you touch a quick-service counter. Specialty Dining lands at 7.9, judged on the strength of Virgin's signature-restaurant ecosystem — The Test Kitchen, The Wake, Extra Virgin, Gunbae, Pink Agave, and Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle — not by counting who charges a cover. Quality Ceiling reads 8.0, the best-case meal this program can produce, and Casual & Quick Dining lands at 7.9, covering The Galley's stations plus the scoop shop, pizza counter, poke bowls, and The Social Club.

Special Experiences is Scarlet Lady's softest category at 3.5. She has no ticketed dinner-show product of her own, unlike each of her three sisters — Resilient Lady (Another Rose), Brilliant Lady (Up With a Twist), and Valiant Lady (It's a Ship Show) each has one that's hers alone, and none of the three runs on Scarlet Lady. That's the honest reason this category trails the rest of her scorecard.

Seven full-service restaurants anchor the roster you'll have open to you every night: The Test Kitchen (8.6), Virgin's flagship destination-dining concept fleet-wide, running a chef-driven tasting menu that cycles through rotating A/B/C menus; The Wake (8.3), a steak-and-seafood steakhouse serving brunch and dinner; Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle (8.2), covered in full below; Gunbae (8.1), Korean BBQ with tabletop grilling; Extra Virgin (8.0), an Italian trattoria built around handmade pasta and antipasti; Pink Agave (7.9), modern Mexican with a tequila-and-mezcal-forward bar; and The Dock & The Dock House (7.9), Mediterranean mezze and flame-grilled skewers with live acoustic music — the outdoor Dock and the indoor, covered Dock House function as one connected concept and score as one venue.

The Galley (7.8) is Virgin's answer to a self-serve buffet — a food hall of eight-plus made-to-order stations (bakery, panini, burger grill, taco stand, sushi, noodle bar, soup and salad, a 24-hour diner), scored as one venue, not eight.

Four quick-service stops round out the included tier: Lick Me Till... Ice Cream (7.6), a complimentary scoop shop running about six flavors including a vegan option; The Pizza Place (7.5), made-to-order with late-night hours; Sun Club Café (7.5), Hawaiian-style poke bowls at midday; and The Social Club (7.4), hot dogs, pretzels, fairground snacks, and “adult floats” — the current, correct name for this venue. You may see “Peppermint Grille” or “Diner Sea” elsewhere online; both are stale pre-launch names that never made it to the current ship.

Every other line in this project draws a hard line between “what's included” and “what's paid, and therefore worth judging as specialty.” Virgin doesn't build its ships that way. There's no separate paid steakhouse to compare against a free everyday room — the steakhouse, the tasting-menu restaurant, the Korean BBQ, and the rest of the included roster are the specialty tier, fare-included or not. So this category judges the strength of that signature-restaurant ecosystem on its own terms: The Test Kitchen, The Wake, Extra Virgin, Gunbae, Pink Agave, and Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle — six chef-driven concepts with real ambition behind them, regardless of what shows up on your onboard folio.

Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle is the newest and most distinctive piece of that ecosystem on this ship. It's the main reason Scarlet Lady's Specialty Dining reads as strong as it does, alongside a Test Kitchen tasting menu that stands as Virgin's flagship destination-dining concept fleet-wide.

You won't find a paid steakhouse upsell or a cover-charge chef's table here, and that's the point: a high Specialty Dining score and an entirely fare-included roster aren't in tension on this ship. They're the same fact, described two ways — and it means you can chase the best food on the ship without ever checking your onboard account balance first.
