Five lines we checked have dated Copenhagen sailings on their own pages: Princess, Norwegian, Regent, Viking and Silversea. MSC sells Copenhagen cruises without naming ships, Holland America has a departure page with none shown, and Azamara’s one sailing has already gone. Other lines, AIDA and TUI Cruises among them, also start here; we haven’t read their pages. What trips people up is the quay. Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) runs three, and the biggest ships go to Oceankaj, out in Nordhavn, because it’s the only one without a length limit.
This page is for sailing from Copenhagen. If your ship is only calling for the day, our Copenhagen port-day guide covers the walk into town, and our shore excursion picks cover the tours.
The port is busy. CMP counted 280 calls and more than 818,000 passengers in 2024, 106 of them turnaround calls, where a cruise starts or ends. CMP counted 316 calls and 866,500 passengers in 2025 and expects 312 calls, 880,000 passengers and 122 turnaround calls in 2026. Most big ships come between May and September, though calls now run year-round.
Cruise lines sailing from here
Deployments change every season, so this roster is dated and sourced, and it lives only here.
Checked against the lines’ own pages on October 3, 2026. Princess names Copenhagen one of five Northern Europe homeports for 2027, with Caribbean Princess on 12-day sailings “touching eight countries” and a 10-night Norwegian & Icelandic Fjords run to Reykjavik. Norwegian’s Copenhagen page says the ship “will DEPART from this port”, and Norwegian Jewel returns in 2027 for seven- and nine-day Baltic voyages between Copenhagen and Helsinki. MSC sells “Cruises from / to Copenhagen” to the Baltic, the Norwegian fjords and the North Sea, without naming ships on the pages we read. Regent sails Seven Seas Mariner from Copenhagen to Amsterdam on June 10, 2027. Viking’s new Scandinavia & Baltic Capitals runs 15 days between Oslo and Copenhagen, both ways, from 2027 to 2029. Silversea sails Silver Dawn from Copenhagen back to Copenhagen on June 7, 2027, ten nights through Bornholm, Gdansk, Klaipeda, Riga, Helsinki, Tallinn and Stockholm. Azamara sent Azamara Journey from Copenhagen to Stockholm on July 9, 2026 — sold out, and now sailed. Holland America has a Copenhagen departure page, though its ships and dates didn’t show for us.

A cruise-listing site, cruiseshiptracking.com, also shows MSC Euribia from Copenhagen on October 11, 2026 and May 2, 2027, Norwegian Star on May 16, 2027 and Costa Diadema on May 1, 2027; we didn’t see those on the lines’ own pages. Oceania sells Copenhagen hotel packages; check its page for departures from Copenhagen before you count on it. Viking’s Viking Homelands only calls here, mid-cruise. Schedule sites also list AIDA and TUI Cruises turning round here, and we haven’t read those lines’ own pages. Confirm your own ship and date before you book around it.
Where you can go
Copenhagen’s sailings head east into the Baltic or north toward Norway and Iceland. The stops below come from the lines’ own pages: Regent’s June 2027 port list, Norwegian’s 2027 release, MSC’s Baltic list and Princess’s fjords run. They’re a range of ports, not one ship’s week.
Five have port-day pages of their own: Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Gdansk. Read your own itinerary, not this list, before you plan a day ashore; our Northern Europe overview has the bigger picture.

Before or after the ship: Kronborg Castle in Helsingør is about 30.1 road miles from Oceankaj by our routing, open daily 10:00 to 17:00 from March 28 to October 31 (closed Mondays from November 1), with adult tickets at DKK 150, or DKK 135 (about US$20) online, per the castle. The Kystbanen coast train from Central Station takes about 46 minutes. The Louisiana Museum, at Humlebæk, is about 25.0 road miles; adults pay DKK 145 (about US$20), students DKK 130 (about US$20) and under-18s nothing, per the museum on October 5, 2026.
Three quays — and the address not to use
Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) runs all three. Oceankaj, or Ocean Quay, at Oceanvej 13 in Nordhavn, is about 1,100 m long with no length limit, and CMP lists berths 331 to 333 there. Norwegian names Terminal 1, quay C331, as its main spot. MSC’s UK page says “Cruise Terminal 3” and then sends its shuttle to Terminal 1, so go by your documents.
Langelinie, by the Little Mermaid, takes ships up to 320 m; Nordre Toldbod, by Amalienborg, ships up to 200 m. Norwegian prints Containervej 9 as the terminal’s address. That’s CMP’s office, about 2.3 km west of the quay in a straight line — a postal address, not where you board. CMP’s shore-power facility opened in summer 2025, and the port expects 183 ship connections in 2026, per its January 2026 release.
| Quay | Where | What we know |
|---|---|---|
| Oceankaj (Ocean Quay) | Oceanvej 13, 2150 Nordhavn; quays 331–333 | No length limit, so the big ships; Princess, Norwegian and MSC name it |
| Langelinie | Langeliniekaj, by the Little Mermaid; quays 192–198 | Ships up to 320 m; no long-term parking, per VisitCopenhagen |
| Nordre Toldbod | Nordre Toldbod 18–24, by Amalienborg; quay 177 | Ships up to 200 m; no long-term parking either |
| Containervej 9 | Nordhavn, about 2.3 km west of Oceankaj | CMP’s office and Norwegian’s postal address — not a boarding point |
Send us your ship and sail date and we’ll tell you which quay and which night. Ask us ↓
Sources: cmport.com, wonderfulcopenhagen.com, ncl.com and msccruises.co.uk, read October 3, 2026. CMP describes check-in counters and trained luggage handling, but we found no published check-in window or luggage drop for any quay. Confirm with your line — the quay can change with the ship.
Parking, in short
For Oceankaj, P-plads Oceanvej is right there: 242 spaces, 50 to 100 m from Ocean Quay, run by By & Havn through ParkinCPH. Wonderful Copenhagen prints DKK 22 (about US$3) an hour by day and DKK 12 (about US$2) at night, capped at DKK 150 per 24 hours. At that cap a seven-night cruise is DKK 1,050 (about US$160), by our arithmetic.
The two town quays are harder. VisitCopenhagen says there’s no long-term parking at Langelinie or Nordre Toldbod, and the car parks near them cap their day rates at DKK 335 to DKK 500 (about US$50–75) — city parking, not cruise parking.
Where should I park for a Copenhagen cruise?
The lot by Ocean Quay, the garages near Langelinie and what the hotels charge.

Copenhagen Airport, at Kastrup, is the one to fly into. The metro leaves from a station in direct extension of Terminal 3, every 4 to 6 minutes by day, and InterCity trains to the city and to Malmö leave Terminal 3 from tracks 1 and 2.
| From | Taxi | Public transport |
|---|---|---|
| CPH — airport to Oceankaj | About DKK 425 (about US$65) weekday daytime, DKK 520 (about US$80) evenings and weekends, per Wonderful Copenhagen; CMP says DKK 450–550 (about US$70–85). About 9.9 miles (15.9 km) by our routing. | The M2 from Terminal 3 to Kongens Nytorv, the M4 to Orientkaj, then bus 25 or 164: about 40 minutes, three zones, DKK 30 (about US$5). |
| CPH — airport to Langelinie or Nordre Toldbod | About DKK 270 (about US$40) or DKK 232 (about US$35) by day. About 7.0 and 6.1 miles by our routing. | About 35 minutes, DKK 30: bus 27 and a train, or the metro to Marmorkirken and a walk. |
| Central Station to Oceankaj | About DKK 212 (about US$30) by day, DKK 262 (about US$40) evenings and weekends. About 5.6 miles by our routing. | Bus 25 or 164 and the metro: about 30 minutes, two zones, DKK 24 (about US$4). |

From cph.dk, wonderfulcopenhagen.com and cmport.com, read October 3, 2026; distances are our routing with no traffic. Every Danish taxi works under a national price cap, from January 1, 2026 DKK 94.68 (about US$14) to start and DKK 14.20 (about US$2) a km on weekdays by day, per Færdselsstyrelsen — a ceiling, and most companies charge less. Up to two children under 12 ride free with each paying adult. Copenhagen Airport to the ship has the rest.
The night before, ranked: we’ve scored twenty hotels for the night before a Copenhagen cruise, from Nordhavn to Nyhavn, Vesterbro and the airport, on what each one publishes. None sells a ride to the ship. Five worth knowing:
| Hotel | Where | One thing to know |
|---|---|---|
| Comwell Portside | Alexandriagade, Nordhavn | The closest hotel to Oceankaj in our list, about 2.2 road miles by our routing; garage parking capped at DKK 220 (about US$35) a day, per the hotel. |
| 71 Nyhavn | Nyhavn, at the harbour mouth | No. 1 in our twenty: breakfast comes with every room, the only hotel that says so, and the harbour bus stops 57 m away; about 4.9 road miles to Oceankaj by our routing. |
| Admiral Hotel | Toldbodgade, by Nyhavn | An outdoor pool with a bar and a seafood restaurant, by Nyhavn; about 4.8 road miles to Oceankaj and 1.9 to Langelinie by our routing. |
| Go Hotel Østerport | Oslo Plads, at Østerport station | On top of Østerport station, about 1.0 road miles from Langelinie by our routing; MSC calls Langelinie a 15-minute walk from the station. |
| Clarion Airport | Ellehammersvej, Kastrup | Steps from Terminal 3, per the airport, with an indoor pool — and a Park, Stay & Fly package that’s airport parking, not cruise parking. |

Planning a Copenhagen cruise?
Tell us your line and date, and we’ll confirm your quay.
Most Copenhagen questions come down to which quay and which morning. Send the ship and the date and we’ll sort out the flight, the night and the ride.
We check each answer against the line’s or hotel’s own page and date it.
Copenhagen FAQ
Where do cruise ships dock in Copenhagen?
At one of three quays, all run by Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP). Oceankaj, or Ocean Quay, at Oceanvej 13 in Nordhavn, has quays 331 to 333 and no length limit, so the big ships use it. Langelinie takes ships up to 320 m and Nordre Toldbod, by Amalienborg, ships up to 200 m.
Which cruise lines start cruises in Copenhagen?
Five have dated sailings on their own pages, read October 3, 2026: Princess (Caribbean Princess in 2027), Norwegian (Norwegian Jewel in 2027), Regent (Seven Seas Mariner, June 2027), Viking (Oslo to Copenhagen and back, 2027–2029) and Silversea (Silver Dawn, June 7, 2027). MSC sells Copenhagen cruises without naming ships, and Holland America has a departure page with none shown. Azamara's one sailing has already gone. Other lines, including AIDA and TUI Cruises, also start here; we haven't read their pages. Confirm your own ship and date.
How do I get from Copenhagen Airport to the cruise terminal?
By metro and bus, or by taxi. Wonderful Copenhagen's route to Ocean Quay is the M2 metro from Terminal 3 to Kongens Nytorv, a change there to the M4 for Orientkaj, then bus 25 or 164 — about 40 minutes on a three-zone ticket, DKK 30. A taxi runs about DKK 425 on a weekday by day and DKK 520 in the evening and at weekends, per the same source.
Is there a shuttle bus to Oceankaj?
Not one the port or the city runs. MSC's pages say a free shuttle leaves Orientkaj metro station for Oceankaj every 30 minutes, until 14:00 on its Finnish page. They don't name the operator or say whether other lines' guests can ride.
Can I leave luggage at the Copenhagen cruise terminal?
We found no public luggage drop. CMP describes check-in counters and trained luggage handling at its terminals, but not a place to leave bags before boarding. Bounce, a storage service, lists spots near Central Station, Nørreport and Christianshavn, none at the quays.
Where do I park for a Copenhagen cruise?
At P-plads Oceanvej, 50 to 100 m from Ocean Quay: DKK 22 an hour by day, DKK 12 at night, capped at DKK 150 per 24 hours, per Wonderful Copenhagen. VisitCopenhagen says there's no long-term parking at Langelinie or Nordre Toldbod.
