The two options, side by side
Not a price list — a decision, and an unusual one here, since neither the official port nor either off-site operator we checked will give you a firm number without a reservation.
Official port parking
- Roughly a dozen lots split across four terminals — no flat rate published anywhere
- Some lots walk-only, others run a free shuttle — it depends on the specific lot, not just the terminal
- ADA-accessible spaces confirmed at every official lot
- Loyalty and Disabled Veterans discount programs exist
Off-site parking
- A shuttle leg between your car and the terminal
- Neither operator we checked publishes a rate confirmed on its own site — get a quote
- Third-party guides cite rough ranges of $11-15/day and $20-25/day
- 2 named operators, checked and sourced below
A reseller listing
- A specific rate for a facility 6 miles from the terminal, per one booking-aggregator site
- Not the operator's own published rate — a reseller listing, disclosed as a data point only
- Free shuttle claimed; not independently confirmed
- Compare against a direct quote before booking through any reseller
Official Port of Galveston parking
- Rate: not published as a flat figure anywhere on the port's own site. Rates "vary on length of cruise and type of parking selected," and a specific number only appears once you enter your ship and sail date into the port's own reservation system. Highly volatile
- Terminals 25 & 28: Express Lot (680 uncovered spaces, walk-only), SMP Garage (400 covered spaces, walk-only), Economy Lot A (850 spaces, free shuttle), Economy Lot B (1,250 spaces, free shuttle).
- Terminal 10: North Premium Lot (100 solar-covered spaces, walk-only), North Lot (550 spaces, walk-only), South Lot (660 spaces, free shuttle available), Pier 12 Lot and Pier 10 Lot (walking distance, no shuttle), plus shuttle access to the Terminal 16 Garage.
- Terminal 16: a covered garage, two standard lots (one small, one large economy), and a VIP lot and VIP indoor garage — all walk-only per the port's own site.
- Payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover, confirmed directly on the port's own site. Cancellations allowed up to 24 hours before sailing for a full refund.
- Accessible parking: ADA-accessible spaces confirmed at every official lot.
- Oversized vehicles: not confirmed when we checked — the port's own pages don't describe a distinct oversized category the way Port Tampa Bay's do.
- Discounts: a Loyalty Rewards Program and a Disabled Veterans Discount Program are both promoted on the port's own site, though neither's exact terms were confirmed when we checked.
Sources: portofgalveston.com/cruise-parking/, /cruise-parking/cruise-parking-reservations/, /cruise-parking/explore-the-port/, and /galveston-cruise-parking-price/ (the port's own pages; none states a flat per-day dollar figure), corroborated by cruisedayguide.com/guide/galveston/parking on lot names and shuttle status — verified September 13, 2026.
The honest picture here is a step less transparent than Port Tampa Bay's: Tampa at least corroborates a rough $18/day estimate from two secondary sources, while Galveston's own rate table gives no number at all without a reservation, and no independent guide could pin one down either. What is confirmed: exactly which lot serves which terminal, which lots need a shuttle and which don't, and that accessible parking is universal. Use those facts to pick your lot, then treat the actual price as unknown until you reserve.
Off-site parking
Off-site lots near the Port of Galveston are a real category, but — like Port Tampa Bay and Port Everglades — this port's off-site picture is less price-transparent than Port Canaveral's. Neither operator named across multiple third-party guides was independently reachable on its own site when we checked, so every figure below is disclosed as reported, not confirmed.
- Galveston Park N Cruise — a third-party guide (cruisedayguide.com, not the operator) cites $20/day for outdoor parking and $25/day for indoor/covered parking. The operator's own site was not reached when we checked, and its distance, address, and shuttle terms weren't independently confirmed either. Highly volatile
- EZ Cruise Parking — the same third-party guide cites an $11-15/day range, also unconfirmed on the operator's own site. A separate booking-aggregator site (rightwayparking.com) lists a specific $16.75/day rate for a facility it calls "Trans Pro-Park and Ride Galveston," 6 miles from the terminal with a free shuttle — disclosed here only as a data point, not a confirmed rate, because we don't treat reseller listings as primary pricing sources. Highly volatile
Sources: cruisedayguide.com/guide/galveston/parking (third-party guide) and rightwayparking.com (a booking-aggregator listing, not either operator's own site) — verified September 13, 2026. Neither Galveston Park N Cruise's nor EZ Cruise Parking's own site was independently reachable when we checked.
None of the figures above are a locked-in total. Get a direct quote from whichever operator you're considering, confirm the shuttle schedule and cancellation policy for your actual sailing date, and compare it honestly against whatever number the port's own reservation system returns for your ship and date — not against a headline figure from any guide, this one included.
Hotels that hold the car
We’ve since checked 57 hotels one by one, and six print a rate to leave your car while you sail. Gaido’s Seaside Inn is free for the whole cruise if you stay the night before. The Hyatt Select and Beachfront Palms charge $10 a day; the TownePlace Suites and the Courtyard, at the west end, $80 for up to 7 days; and the Hilton Galveston Island Resort $100 for 7 days. None of the six runs a shuttle, so add a cab both ways.
Three more bundle the car with a ride to the ship in a cruise package, at prices they don’t publish: the Holiday Inn Resort, The San Luis and Moody Gardens. For comparison, MSC’s own Galveston FAQ quotes the port’s surface lots at $23 a day and its covered garage at $28. The 20 best hotels for the night before scores every one and prices hotel parking against the port for your sailing length.

Who should pick what
| Traveler | Likely best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sailing from Terminal 25 or 28, want to walk straight in | Express Lot or SMP Garage | Both walk-only and closest to those two terminals — no shuttle timing to think about. |
| Sailing from Terminal 25 or 28, prefer not to walk far with luggage | Economy Lot A or B | Both run a free shuttle, at the cost of a short wait rather than a walk. |
| Sailing Royal Caribbean once Icon of the Seas arrives (Terminal 10) | South Lot or the Terminal 16 shuttle option | Both include a free shuttle; the North lots and Pier lots are walk-only or unshuttled. |
| Sailing MSC from Terminal 16 | The Terminal 16 Garage | Covered parking, walk-only, directly at your terminal. |
| Staying on the island the night before, want a printed rate | Gaido’s Seaside Inn, or the Hyatt Select | Gaido’s parks you free for the whole cruise with your night; the Hyatt Select charges $10 a day. Add a cab to the terminal. |
| Budget-conscious, comfortable getting a quote first | Off-site parking | Possibly the lowest total cost, but — more than at any other port we cover — you won't know the number until you ask directly. |
| Needs accessible parking | Official parking, any lot | ADA-accessible spaces are confirmed at every official lot; off-site accessibility wasn't independently checked. |

Parking FAQ
How much is official Galveston cruise parking?
There's no flat figure published anywhere on the port's own site. The port's reservation system only shows a rate once you enter your specific ship and sail date, and the amount then depends on which of roughly a dozen official lots you choose and how far ahead you book. Treat any dollar figure you read online, including third-party guides quoting this port, as an estimate rather than a locked-in rate.
Which official lot should I pick at Galveston?
It depends entirely on your terminal. Terminals 25 and 28 share the Express Lot, SMP Garage, and Economy Lots A and B — the Economy lots run a free shuttle, the others are walk-only. Terminal 10 has its own North Premium, North, South, Pier 12, and Pier 10 lots, plus shuttle access to the Terminal 16 garage. Terminal 16 has its own garage, two standard lots, and a VIP option. Confirm your terminal first, then pick from that terminal's own lot list.
Do I need a shuttle from official parking to my terminal?
It depends on the lot, not just the terminal — this is different from Port Tampa Bay, where no shuttle is needed anywhere. At Galveston, the Express Lot, SMP Garage, North Premium Lot, North Lot, both Pier lots, and Terminal 16's own lots are walk-only; Economy Lot A, Economy Lot B, and the South Lot run a free shuttle; Terminal 16's garage runs a free shuttle specifically for Terminal 10 guests. Check your specific lot before assuming either way.
Is off-site parking cheaper than the official lots at Galveston?
Possibly, but neither off-site operator we looked at publishes a rate confirmed on its own site when we checked. A third-party guide cites $20/day (outdoor) and $25/day (indoor/covered) for one named operator, and an $11-15/day range for another; a separate reseller listing shows a specific $16.75/day rate for a different facility, but since we don't treat aggregator pricing as a confirmed source, that figure is disclosed only as a data point. Get an actual quote before comparing either against the official (also unpublished) rate.
Does Galveston have accessible parking?
Yes — the port's own site confirms ADA-accessible spaces at every official lot. A separate oversized-vehicle parking category, the kind Port Tampa Bay publishes, wasn't confirmed on Galveston's own site when we checked.
