Hyatt Place is the breakfast pick at the far end of Waikiki, and the far end is the catch. Breakfast is complimentary, hot and cold, the pool stays open until 10 PM, and The Placery and a 24/7 market are in the lobby, 0.17 miles from the Honolulu Zoo.
The $42 daily destination fee does more work than most — beach chairs and towels, a $5 daily food and drink credit and discounted one-way transfers to and from HNL.
It lands third of the four hotels on 36 because Hyatt prints no parking rate at all, only that valet costs "a daily fee". Pier 2 is about 4 miles away by road, our estimate, the longest morning ride of the top three.
Use the transfer discount on the way in, and price the cab to the pier as its own ride — the discount covers the airport, not the ship.
Book it if
- Budget cruisers who want breakfast
- Swimmers
- Dog owners
Look elsewhere if
- You want to be near the harbor.
- You're driving and want the parking price first.

Hyatt gives no distance to the cruise terminal and doesn't mention cruises. It puts the Honolulu Zoo 0.17 miles away and 'Iolani Palace 3.36 miles, at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki. By our estimate the drive from Hyatt Place Waikiki to Pier 2 is about 11 minutes on empty roads — so leave room for real ones.
"Valet parking is available for a daily fee," per Hyatt's FAQ, which doesn't print the rate; the hotel-info page also lists self-parking. It's a fee for staying, not for sailing — nothing on Hyatt's pages covers a car left while you cruise.
