Riviera & Maximilian's is thirteenth on our scoring, which is built for an easy sail morning, not a resort night. It has a private beach, a pool at the beach from May to September, the Exentia spa cut into the rock and Le Terrazze restaurant — and our routing puts the Stazione Marittima about 5.8 road miles away, roughly 15 minutes.

That's a taxi down the coast road, not a walk. Miramare castle is a 10-minute walk the other way, per the region's venue page.

The hotel doesn't print a parking price or say whether breakfast is in the rate, and the spa costs extra. Sources even disagree on the room count, 49 or 55.
