Two official car parks, one operator
The car park depends on your line, not your preference. TTP keeps one for MSC and one for Costa and TUI, both booked on its own site, both with a free shuttle to the terminal.
Covered parking at Via Carli
- Via Gian Rinaldo Carli 8–10, about 1.5 road miles from the terminal by our routing
- Unattended, covered, per MSC; cars up to 2 m high and 5 m long, per TTP
- Book by 3 pm the day before, or by Friday for Saturday, Sunday and Monday departures, per MSC
- Free shuttle to the terminal, not bookable, capacity not guaranteed
The Molo IV car park
- Largo Città di Santos, about 100 m from Trieste Centrale, per Costa’s directions
- Staff identify you on arrival, then let you in
- Free shuttle to the terminal
- Whether Costa’s and TUI’s ships also berth at Molo IV isn’t stated
TTP’s hours, rules and fine print
From TTP’s opening-times sheet and its 2026 conditions for MSC guests — the operator’s own documents, not a reseller’s.
- Drop-off 08:00 to 17:00 on the day the cruise starts, booking required; pick-up 07:00 to 13:00 on the day it ends
- Opening outside those hours: €50.00, per the 2026 conditions
- Pay by PayPal or card; cancel within 14 days of the acceptance email, after that it’s non-refundable
- The acceptance email is the only document to collect the car — keep it on your phone and on paper
- Prices are “analiticamente indicati sul sito” — shown on the site at booking, which didn’t load for us
Sources: triesteterminal.it (parking pages, opening-times PDF, 2026 MSC conditions PDF, Costa directions PDF) and msccruisesusa.com, read October 3, 2026. MSC’s page prints pick-up as “8:00 AM – 1:00 AM”; TTP’s sheet says 07:00 to 13:00, and TTP runs the car park, so go by TTP.
Parking in town, and why it’s not for a cruise
TTP also runs the “Parcheggi Rive” street spaces along the waterfront: €1.80 an hour in red bays, €1.30 in yellow and €0.80 in blue, charged 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday and free on holidays. Pay at the meter or with EasyPark. It’s parking for an afternoon, not a week.
The city garages hotels point to, Park San Giusto, the Silos and Saba, print day rates, not cruise rates. Parclick, a booking site, listed the Saba Silos from €17.50 a day and a valet service from €80 for three days when we read it in October 2026; that’s a reseller’s figure, so confirm it with the garage before you count on it.
Who should pick what
| Traveler | Likely best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sailing MSC from Trieste | TTP at Via Carli | MSC’s own page sends you there; book by 3 pm the day before. |
| Sailing Costa or TUI | TTP at Molo IV | Both lines’ parking pages at TTP are titled Molo IV. |
| Sailing Holland America, Princess, Norwegian or Regent | Ask your line, then TTP | TTP’s parking pages name MSC, Costa and TUI only; we found no parking guidance from the others. |
| An MSC booking that says Monfalcone | Not this page | Monfalcone is a separate port MSC lists on its own page. |
| Staying in town the night before, no car | Walk or taxi | Our walking routes put the closest hotels a few minutes from the terminal. |
Staying the night before? None of the nineteen hotels we ranked sells park-and-cruise. Several print daily garage rates — none says it covers a cruise week, so ask. What four of them publish:
| Hotel | Overnight parking | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel Italia | €30.00 per 24 hours, garage with a driver | The hotel doesn't say whether it runs for a cruise week, so ask before you book. |
| NH Trieste | €30 a day in the building; €15 and about €13 nearby | NH's two pages print different figures, so confirm the one you'll get. |
| Victoria Letterario | €17.00 per 24 hours at Garage Saba | If paid at the hotel; €20 by Telepass. |
| Urban Hotel | Park San Giusto, €24.00 per 24 hours | No parking of its own; valet €35.00 a night. |

Still deciding where to leave the car?
Tell us your line and we’ll point you at the right car park.
TTP splits its parking by cruise line, so the first question is always which ship. Send it and we’ll check the rest.

Parking FAQ
Is there official parking at the Trieste cruise terminal?
Yes. Trieste Terminal Passeggeri (TTP) says its parking is the only official parking for the passenger terminal, booked on its own site. MSC guests park under cover at Via Gian Rinaldo Carli 8–10; Costa and TUI guests use the Molo IV car park by Trieste Centrale. A free shuttle runs to the terminal.
How much does cruise parking cost in Trieste?
TTP shows its prices only inside the booking portal, and the portal didn't load for us, so we can't print a figure. Its 2026 conditions say the rates are "analiticamente indicati sul sito" — listed on the site when you book.
What are TTP's parking hours?
Drop-off with a booking runs 08:00 to 17:00 on the day the cruise starts, and pick-up 07:00 to 13:00 on the day it ends, per TTP's opening-times sheet. Opening outside those hours costs €50.00 (about US$55), per its 2026 conditions.
Can I park on the street near the Trieste cruise terminal?
Not for a cruise. TTP's own "Parcheggi Rive" street spaces charge €1.80 (about US$2), €1.30 (about US$1) or €0.80 (about US$0.90) an hour by colour, 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday — an hourly rate for a visit, not a week.
Is my car too big for TTP's MSC car park?
The MSC car park takes cars up to 2 m high and 5 m long, per TTP's 2026 conditions; a longer car pays for an extra space.
Can I cancel a TTP parking booking?
Within 14 days of the email accepting your order; after that it's non-refundable, per TTP's 2026 conditions. That acceptance email is also the document you show to collect the car.
