San Cristóbal is one of two islands whose airports start Galápagos cruises. The other is Baltra. Which one you fly into is set by your ship, not by you.
Ecoventura says all its yachts operate from San Cristóbal. Silversea runs Silver Origin round trips from here, with its own charter from Quito, and Lindblad starts at least one National Geographic Endeavour II itinerary here.
There’s no cruise terminal. Ecoventura and Lindblad both describe the same morning: guides meet the flight, a short bus ride to the dock, then a Zodiac to the ship waiting at anchor.
The airport is inside the town. Galapatours puts it under five minutes’ drive from the centre.
Two fees come first. You pay US$20 for the Transit Control Card, validated at the mainland airport before you check in, and the National Park entrance fee — US$200 for foreign adults and US$100 for children under 12 since August 1, 2024 — on arrival. Ecuador uses the US dollar, and Galapatours says the park fee is paid in cash.
One more thing catches people out. The islands run an hour behind mainland Ecuador, per Ecoventura, so read your flight times with that in mind.
Who starts a trip here
Deployments change every season, so this roster is dated and sourced. These are the lines whose own pages start trips here.
Checked against each line’s own pages on October 18, 2026. Silversea sails Silver Origin on 7-day round trips from San Cristóbal, such as December 19 to 26, 2026; Day 1 lists San Cristóbal until 16:15, then Kicker Rock. Silversea also flies Silver Origin guests on its own charter from Quito, per Seatrade. Ecoventura says all its yachts operate from San Cristóbal, with guests flying in on Avianca on Sundays. Lindblad Expeditions lists a Galápagos itinerary on National Geographic Endeavour II that flies to San Cristóbal and ends at Baltra. Celebrity’s Galápagos sailings are listed from Baltra, so they’re on our Baltra page, not here.
Sources, read October 18, 2026: silversea.com voyage pages OR261219007 and OR261128007, Seatrade Cruise News on Silversea’s charter (July 2025), ecoventura.com (its FAQ and flight pages) and Lindblad’s Endeavour II itinerary sheet on expeditions.com, which isn’t dated. Other small yachts sail from here too; we’ve listed only lines whose own pages say so. Confirm your own ship and date before you book around it.
Where you can go
A San Cristóbal cruise starts in the east of the archipelago. Silversea’s round trip lists Kicker Rock on the first evening and Cerro Brujo on the last day, both off San Cristóbal. The rest depends on your ship’s permitted itinerary — the park sets those, not the line.

A spare afternoon before boarding? The malecón is the town’s waterfront, and the hotels in our list sit along it or just above. For the islands themselves, see our visitor-sites page.
Where you board: the town pier
There’s no terminal building. Ships anchor in the bay and passengers go out by Zodiac or panga from the main dock on the malecón.
Ecoventura spells it out. On its recommended flight, guides and crew meet you at the airport and take you and your bags to the main dock, then by Zodiac to the yacht. Arrive on any other flight and you take a taxi to the main dock and wait for the Zodiac — be there, in front of Hotel Casablanca, by 12:00 on Sunday. That’s from Ecoventura’s guest Q&A (2017), so confirm it in your documents. Lindblad describes the same thing: a short bus ride to the dock with its naturalists, and the ship waiting at anchor.
Late is costly. Ecoventura warns that late arrivals may miss lunch, the briefing and the safety drill, and that a delayed or cancelled flight can mean missing the boat.
| Quay | Where | What we know |
|---|---|---|
| The main dock | On the malecón, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno; in front of Hotel Casablanca, per Ecoventura | Zodiac or panga out to the ship at anchor; no terminal building |
| San Cristóbal Airport (SCY) | Inside the town, under five minutes’ drive from the centre, per Galapatours | Lines on their recommended flights meet you here and take your bags |
| The ship | At anchor in the bay | Lindblad: “embark the ship waiting at anchor” |
Send us your ship and sail date and we’ll tell you which quay and which night. Ask us ↓
Sources: ecoventura.com, Lindblad’s Endeavour II itinerary sheet and Galapatours, read October 18, 2026. No source we read prints the pier’s coordinates, so our map pin is an estimate. Confirm with your line — the quay can change with the ship.
Parking, in short
There’s nothing to park. San Cristóbal is an island you reach by air, and no source we read publishes cruise parking.
If you drove to Guayaquil or Quito, that’s where the car stays — see the Guayaquil airport page or the Quito one.
Getting here
Flights come only from the mainland. Avianca and LATAM both fly to San Cristóbal from Guayaquil and Quito, per Wikipedia and their own route pages. Ecoventura’s recommended flight, Avianca AV1630, leaves Guayaquil at 09:45 on Sundays and lands at about 10:30 to 10:35 island time (Ecoventura gives both); from Quito it stops in Guayaquil first and you stay on board.
Before you check in on the mainland, validate your US$20 Transit Control Card at the CGREG counter, and expect a biosecurity bag check by ABG. On landing you pay the park fee — US$200 for foreign adults — and then it’s a few minutes to the pier.
| From | Taxi | Public transport |
|---|---|---|
| SCY — airport to the pier | About US$2 to 4 per car, per Galapatours; under five minutes | No bus. Lines on their recommended flights take you; walking is possible with light bags. |
| GYE — Guayaquil | Avianca AV1630, 09:45 Sundays, per Ecoventura | Lands 10:35 island time; Galápagos is an hour behind the mainland. |
| UIO — Quito | Avianca via Guayaquil, or Silversea’s charter for Silver Origin guests | Seatrade puts Silversea’s direct charter at about two hours. |
Galapatours says the park fee is paid in cash at the arrival airport; card payment carries a surcharge. Bring the cash. San Cristóbal Airport to the ship has the rest.
The night before, ranked: we’ve scored seven hotels for the night before a San Cristóbal departure, all in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and all within about 700 m of the pier by our pins. Only Hotel Indigo has a brand source; the other six score on distance alone. Four worth knowing:
| Hotel | Where | One thing to know |
|---|---|---|
| Indigo | Isabela y Charles Darwin, on the malecón | No. 1: a pool, spa, gym and restaurant per IHG, about 150 m from the pier; breakfast extra on standard rates. |
| Casa Blanca | Charles Darwin, opposite the main pier | Opposite the main pier, where Ecoventura gathers its guests. |
| Golden Bay | Charles Darwin, on the malecón | A pool and a pizza restaurant on its listing; breakfast is extra. |
| Miconia | Near the promenade, north of the pier | The widest room choice of our seven, with triples and quadruples, a pool and free breakfast on its listing. |
