Where to leave a car for a PTA cruise
The terminal’s own parking page names three garages, all run by others. Only Q-Park prints a price for each length of stay. The other two give a two-week “from” figure, so the numbers aren’t like for like.
Q-Park Oostenburg, Park+Cruise
- €75 for 1 to 5 days, then €15 a day up to €225 for 15
- About 700 spaces, per the terminal
- About a 20-minute walk to PTA, per Q-Park
- Rietlandpark tram stop 4 minutes’ walk away, trams about every 8 minutes
- Booked online; height limit and cancellation terms not shown
Garage Piet Hein
- Run by the City of Amsterdam, entered from Piet Heinkade 59, about 400 spaces, open 24 hours
- No one-week figure printed; drive up unbooked and an aggregator lists €5.34 an hour, €53.40 a day
- Height 2.1 m in the national open data, 2.60 m on the aggregator
- Mövenpick guests get a reduced rate, unprinted
IJ-oever Centrum (Interparking)
- About a three-minute walk to the terminal
- Stays capped at 14 days
- Booked through Flex Parking; no one-week figure printed
Then there’s Mobypark — a marketplace for private spaces. It listed spots near PTA from €19.50 per 24 hours and €90 a week on October 3, 2026. Withoedenveem showed €19.50 and €90, Vriesseveem €20 and €125. Those are owners’ listings, not a garage’s tariff, so read the access terms before you pay.
Q-Park’s prices, day by day
From Q-Park’s own Park+Cruise page for Amsterdam — the operator, not a reseller.
- 1 to 5 days €75.00; 6 days €90.00; 7 days €105.00; 8 days €120.00; 10 days €150.00; 14 days €210.00; 15 days €225.00
- Every length from 6 to 15 days is printed, €15 a day apart
- Past 15 days, get the quote in the booking form
- The page doesn’t give the garage’s street address, height limit or cancellation rules
Source: q-park.nl Park+Cruise Amsterdam. Seven days at Q-Park’s price works out to about €15 a day. Pay Garage Piet Hein’s drive-up day maximum for seven days and it’s €373.80 — our arithmetic on an aggregator’s figure, which is why you book it ahead instead.
P+R and the street: fine for a day, not a cruise
Amsterdam’s P+R car parks charge €6 or €13 per 24 hours, per I amsterdam. They cap the stay at 96 hours, though — and expect you to ride public transport into the centre. Four nights isn’t a cruise week. Street parking, which I amsterdam puts at €1.40 to €5.00 an hour, priciest in the centre, isn’t one either.
Driving an older diesel? Amsterdam’s low-emission zone inside the A10 ring restricts diesel cars, not petrol ones, per I amsterdam — our rental pages cover the emission classes. Dropping someone off is simpler: the terminal lets cars stop briefly in front of its main entrance.
Sailing from IJmuiden? Use the terminal’s own parking
The Felison Cruise Terminal at Cruiseboulevard 10 takes parking reservations on its booking site for cruise passengers, per its calendar page, and Holland America sends you to the terminal’s online booking. That booking site takes spaces up to 48 hours before departure and refunds nothing once you’ve paid. An IJmuiden information site (cruiseportijmuiden.com, not the operator) lists the car park at €15 (about US$17) a day and €225 (about US$255) for two weeks in an article dated 2023, rates subject to change, and says you can pay at the information desk if spaces remain on the day. Confirm the price in the booking form before you pay.
By our routing it’s about 19.0 road miles (30.6 km) from PTA and 19.9 from Schiphol. Two hotels near IJmuiden print free parking for guests, without saying a car can stay while you sail; both are below.
Who should pick what
| Traveler | Likely best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A seven-night cruise from PTA, driving in | Q-Park Oostenburg Park+Cruise | A price for every length of stay: €105 for 7 days, €120 for 8. Budget €120 and ask Q-Park how it counts days. |
| Wants the shortest walk | Garage Piet Hein, booked ahead | Under the terminal; the two-week “from” price is about €322, so ask for your dates. |
| Sailing from IJmuiden | The Felison terminal’s reservation | On site, booked through the terminal. An information site lists €15 (about US$17) a day; confirm it in the booking form. |
| Sailing MSC “Rotterdam (Amsterdam)” | Not this page | Your ship leaves from Rotterdam. |
| Flying in, no car | Train and a walk | Eight trains an hour to Centraal, then about 15 minutes on foot. |
Staying the night before? None of the thirteen hotels we ranked sells park-and-cruise. Several print daily garage rates, and none says it covers a week at sea. What five of them publish:
| Hotel | Overnight parking | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Mövenpick | A reduced rate at the garage under the hotel, price not printed | Subject to availability, per Accor; ask whether it runs for a cruise week. |
| Hotel Jakarta | €40 per 24 hours, or €30 booked on its own site | Its FAQ says spaces can’t be reserved. |
| The Hoxton, Lloyd | Rietlandpark garage, €35 a day | First come, first served, per The Hoxton; no word on a cruise week. |
| Hampton Schiphol | €25.00 a day, covered | At Hoofddorp by Schiphol, per Hilton — a drive from either terminal. |
| Rauw aan de Kade | Free in the spaces around the hotel | When there’s room, per the hotel; about 1.7 road miles from the Felison terminal. |

Parking FAQ
Is there parking at the Amsterdam cruise terminal?
Yes — Garage Piet Hein, the city's garage under PTA, entered from Piet Heinkade 59 and open 24 hours. The terminal's parking page lists it from about €322 (about US$360) for two weeks if you book ahead. Drive up instead and an aggregator lists €5.34 (about US$6) an hour, up to €53.40 (about US$60) a day. Interparking's IJ-oever Centrum, a three-minute walk away, is listed from about €280 (about US$315) for two weeks.
How much is Q-Park's Park+Cruise in Amsterdam?
Q-Park Oostenburg charges €75 (about US$85) for 1 to 5 days, then €15 a day: €90 (about US$100) for 6, €105 (about US$120) for 7, €120 (about US$135) for 8 and €210 (about US$235) for 14, up to €225 (about US$255) for 15, per Q-Park on October 4, 2026. Its page doesn't say how it counts days, so for a seven-night cruise budget €120. The garage is about a 20-minute walk from PTA, per Q-Park, or one tram ride from the Rietlandpark stop.
Can I use Amsterdam's P+R for a cruise?
Not for a week. I amsterdam lists P+R at €6 (about US$7) or €13 (about US$15) per 24 hours — with a maximum stay of 96 hours. You also have to travel into the centre by public transport.
Can I park at the IJmuiden cruise terminal?
Yes, by reservation — the Felison terminal's booking site takes spaces up to 48 hours before departure and gives no refund once booked. An IJmuiden information site, not the operator, lists the car park at €15 (about US$17) a day and €225 (about US$255) for two weeks in an article dated 2023, rates subject to change. The same site says you can pay at the terminal's information desk if spaces remain on the day. Confirm the price in the booking form.
Will my car fit in Garage Piet Hein?
Check first. The national open-data listing gives a 2.1 m height limit and an aggregator 2.60 m. Go by the lower one in a van or with a roof box.
Do any Amsterdam hotels offer park-and-cruise?
None of the thirteen we ranked sells it. Mövenpick, in the terminal complex, says its guests get a reduced rate at the garage below, subject to availability, without printing it.
