Three garages near the PTA and the city’s P+R, and none of them is built for a rental car you’re paying for by the day.
The municipal Garage Piet Hein sits under the PTA, entered at Piet Heinkade 59, open 24/7 with about 400 spaces.
The terminal’s own parking page lists Piet Hein from about €322 for two weeks booked ahead, and Interparking’s IJ-oever Centrum, a three-minute walk away, from about €280 for two weeks with a 14-day cap; neither prints a one-week figure.
Drive up without a booking and aggregators list it at €5.34 an hour with a €53.40 daily maximum (another lists €5.16 and €51.60); the city’s own tariff page wouldn’t load for us. At that €53.40 daily maximum, about US$60, an unbooked seven-night sailing comes to about €374 (about US$420) — our arithmetic, and the reason to book ahead.
The height limit is 2.1 m in the national RDW open data and 2.60 m on an aggregator; plan on the lower one. Ask about a tall van. Most cars are fine.
Q-Park Oostenburg sells a Park+Cruise ticket: €75 for 1–5 days, then €15 a day — €90 for 6, €105 for 7, €120 for 8, €210 for 14 and €225 for 15 — booked online; Q-Park puts it about a 20-minute walk from the PTA, with the Rietlandpark tram stop 4 minutes away. A seven-night cruise spans eight calendar days. Q-Park’s table gives €105 (about US$120) for 7 days or €120 (about US$135) for 8, and its page doesn’t say how it counts days. Budget €120 (about US$135) and ask Q-Park when you book. It’s the only one-week price any of the three prints.
Amsterdam’s P+R sites charge €6 or €13 per 24 hours (the higher price if you arrive before 10 AM on a weekday) with a 96-hour maximum, and you must ride public transport into the centre. That 96-hour cap is four days, not a cruise.
Mobypark, a peer marketplace, lists private spaces near the PTA from €19.50 a day and €90 a week. A private space is a stranger’s driveway — read the terms twice.
Now price the rental itself sitting idle: at an assumed €40 (about US$45) a day, seven days is about €280 (about US$315) in rent alone, our arithmetic.
That’s before any parking at all. It adds up fast. Hand the rental back before you board, and book another for afterwards.
Drop passengers and bags first — the terminal lets drivers stop briefly in front of the main entrance.
Our Amsterdam parking guide covers driving your own car in. Dollar amounts here use the ECB’s Oct 2, 2026 reference rate, about $1.12 to the euro — your card will settle at its own rate.
