ibis Brisbane Airport, sixth of our twenty, is a bistro-and-bed stay in the domestic terminal precinct, close to your flight and far from your ship. The hotel gives a five-minute walk to the domestic terminal and a Cribb Island Beach Club bistro serving burgers, pizzas and schnitzel — neither it nor Accor lists a pool.
On our routing the cruise terminal is 9.1 road miles (14.6 km) away, about 20 minutes with no traffic, and no hotel ride goes there. The airport shuttle runs from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. at A$8 (about US$6) a person, per Brisbane Airport's own hotel page. That suits an early flight, not a mid-day ship.
Standard Queen and Twin rooms run 20 to 22 m² and start from A$229 (about US$160) a night as the hotel prints it, with tax status not stated, and reception stays open 24 hours.
I'd book it for a late flight in or an early one out — the walk is the point, not the ship, so plan on a taxi for that.
Book it if
- Your flight lands late at the domestic terminal and you want a short walk to bed.
- A bistro downstairs and a desk that's staffed all night both appeal.
- A day room from A$165 would fill a gap between flights.
Look elsewhere if
- A pool is on your list.
- You expect a hotel ride to the cruise terminal.
- You land at the international terminal and a 25-minute transfer to the hotel is more than you want.
Rooms of 20 to 22 m², from A$229
What the hotel prints
- Standard Queen and Twin rooms are 20 to 22 m².
- A day-stay room from A$165 (about US$115) runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Reception is open 24 hours, so a late check-in has a desk behind it.
- Accor says a twin sleeps up to three, and puts the international terminal 25 minutes away by road.
- Confirm the total with tax before you pay.
Still unconfirmed
- Parking price
- A pool
- Pet rules
- Luggage storage
The A$229 is the rate the hotel prints today, with tax status not stated. Prices move, so price your own date.
The shuttle stops at 9 a.m.
Reception is open 24 hours and the bistro is downstairs, so a late arrival is easy — it's the shuttle's hours, not the desk's, that you need to check.
Dinner is the Cribb Island Beach Club bistro, and neither the hotel's page nor Accor's lists a pool — so plan on a meal, not a swim.
Book a taxi for the terminal; the shuttle only does airport runs.
Breakfast is offered daily, per Accor, with no price printed.
The hotel's five-minute walk is to the domestic terminal, and it says nothing about the ships. Count on 20 minutes by taxi with no traffic, and keep the shuttle for an early flight.
There's an on-site car park, with no price on the hotel's page.
A bistro, a bed and a taxi
The airport is 1.5 road miles away on our routing, and the shuttle's window is short: 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.
On foot it's five minutes to the domestic terminal. Brisbane Airport's own hotel page adds a shuttle bus, 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily, A$8 a person.
Hotel shuttle
No ride to the cruise terminal is listed; the shuttle doesn't go there.
Nothing documents a ride to the cruise terminal, and an early-morning airport shuttle wouldn't suit a mid-day ship anyway.
Driving: the on-site car park has no price on the page.
Nothing on the page takes you to the ship, and the only shuttle stops at 9 a.m.
Landing on sail day? Skip the ibis and use the ride sums on the airport page.
