Nearest Airport to the Brisbane Cruise Port

Brisbane has one airport that matters for a cruise, and the terminal is close to it. Brisbane Airport is about 7.5 road miles (12.1 km) from the cruise terminal by our routing, roughly 18 minutes with no traffic; the Port of Brisbane says 12 km and 15 minutes. Nothing public runs the last leg, so a taxi, an app or a private shuttle does.

The short answer

Fly into Brisbane Airport. Our routing puts it about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) and 18 minutes from the cruise terminal with no traffic — the Port of Brisbane says 12 km and 15 minutes.

No official fare to the terminal turned up. Brisbane Airport prices a taxi to the city at A$67 to A$82 (about US$45–55) one way, with an A$4.86 (about US$3) airport fee, and Airtrain to the city is A$23.30 (about US$16) an adult.

The terminal isn’t on any public transport route, so the last leg is a taxi, an app or a private shuttle.

The terminal opens only on cruise ship days, has no lockers and has no car rental on site. The port lists one terminal, so there’s nothing to choose between.

Your boarding document still names the address.

A taxi or app is your move if

  • Your flight lands the morning you sail
  • There are two or more of you to split the fare
  • You’re hauling full cases and there are no lockers at the other end

Con-x-ion is worth a call if

  • You’d rather book a seat than hail a car
  • Its time suits your landing, and you can check it with them first
  • You’re happy to be ready ten minutes before departure

Which Lines

Pinkenba is the only door, and here’s who we found using it

The port lists one cruise terminal, the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Pinkenba. The table is each line’s own wording, read October 6, 2026 — ship lists change, so check yours.

Everyone elseAsk your lineWe found no other line’s own page for 2026-27, and the port’s schedule page shows only 2023 entries, so we name no other shipsportbris.com.au

Port of Brisbane runs the terminal and says it opened to avoid the bridge height limits upstream, with deep water and room to turn larger ships. The Port’s page gives the street address as 1 Cruise Terminal Drive, Pinkenba, also called Luggage Point, and says phone maps may not recognise it, so use Marine Road, which becomes Cruise Terminal Drive.

No hotel we read sells a cruise package, and only one publishes a ride to the ship: The Kingsford, which says a free shuttle is included with all bookings, terms and conditions apply, and prints no times. See our Brisbane cruise guide for the terminal and the lines.

The Map

The airport and the terminal, both on the north-east edge

Brisbane Airport and the cruise terminal sit on the north-east side of the city, near the Gateway Motorway and Kingsford Smith Drive. They’re about 7.5 road miles apart by our routing, and the CBD is farther, 21 km from the terminal by the port’s figure.

The Ride

A taxi price we had to leave blank

The rows are the airport’s own prices to the city, because no source we read prices the terminal. The taxi rows are per car, and the Airtrain row is per adult.

One way, in Australian dollars, as Brisbane Airport printed them on October 6, 2026. The taxi rows leave out the A$4.86 airport fee. Con-x-ion’s cruise-transfer page shows a shuttle from the airport to the cruise terminal from A$25 (about US$17) with no date on the price, so we haven’t put it in the table.

The port lists Con-x-ion, Andrew’s Airport Parking and Portside Parking as off-site operators. Our Brisbane cruise-port car rental page covers renting in the city.

Sail-Day Landing

No line we read prints an arrival cut-off for Brisbane. Both rows are our own margins, not rules, so check your cruise documents for your line’s check-in window.

  • Our rule of thumbOurs, not a line's: land at least 5 hours before the ship leaves.—
  • A wider margin for an international landingOurs, not a line's: 7 hours, to cover bags and a late arrival.—

The port says each line has its own embarkation process, so the time it takes varies, and Carnival’s port page gives no boarding times. We’d land the day before — a morning landing leaves nothing for a delayed bag.

Taxis and Trains

Airtrain, the taxi, rideshare and your suitcase

Airtrain runs from Brisbane Airport to Brisbane City in about 20 minutes, A$23.30 an adult, and to other south-east Queensland stations at A$23.80 (about US$17) an adult. Children 14 and under ride free to the city.

Trains leave every 15 minutes at peak and 30 off-peak, from 5:04 a.m. to 10:04 p.m. on weekdays and 6:04 a.m. to 10:04 p.m. at weekends. Hopping between the airport’s two terminals costs A$5 (about US$3) and takes five minutes.

Airtrain’s own site advertises promotional fares, and we haven’t checked them for your date. None of it reaches the ship.

Taxis queue outside both terminals around the clock, and the airport adds an A$4.86 fee to any taxi or rideshare trip. The port’s rank at the cruise terminal is about 120 m from the entrance along an undercover walkway, with two accessible bays.

The port lists 13Cabs on 13 22 27 and Black & White Cabs on 133 222. Brisbane Airport also lists a bus, route 590 from Skygate to Toombul, and it doesn’t go to the terminal either.

Drop-off is a two-minute pick-up and set-down area in front of the building, and the driver stays with the vehicle.

If you’re driving in, Wilson Parking runs about 900 paid spaces across three car parks, prepaid online, with P2 at A$34 (about US$25) for a day or A$64 (about US$45) for three as of Oct 6, 2026. Prepaying doesn’t reserve a space.

Wilson’s separate Park N Cruise lot at 142 Main Beach Road runs a free return shuttle, and the last bus to the terminal leaves at 2 p.m.

Fly In Early

A night in Brisbane before the ship

One night in Brisbane takes the clock off sail morning. After a long flight you’ll want a bed, with the ship a drive away and breakfast first.

Four of our twenty are within about eight road miles of the terminal: Novotel Brisbane Airport, ibis budget at Hendra, and Pegasus and The Kingsford at Hamilton. Three of the airport hotels sell a seat on a loop between the airport’s terminals, and none of them says the loop reaches the ships.

FAQ

Brisbane cruise airport FAQ

What is the closest airport to the Brisbane cruise port?

Brisbane Airport (BNE). The Port of Brisbane puts it a 15-minute drive and 12 km from the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal.

Our own routing says about 7.5 miles (12.1 km) and 18 minutes with no traffic, so the two figures agree within a few minutes.

How much is a taxi from Brisbane Airport to the cruise terminal?

We found no official fare. The airport’s page prices a taxi to Brisbane City at A$67 to A$82 one way, plus an A$4.86 airport fee, and that is the only taxi figure we have.

The Port of Brisbane puts the terminal 12 km from the airport and 21 km from the CBD, so don't assume the city price carries over. Ask the driver or the app for a price before you go.

Can I take a train from Brisbane Airport to the cruise ship?

No. Airtrain stops at the city, about 20 minutes away, not at the terminal, and children 14 and under ride free. The Port of Brisbane says the terminal isn’t served by public transport, so you’d still need a taxi or an app for the last leg.

Is there a cruise shuttle from Brisbane Airport?

The Port of Brisbane says there are no shuttle buses between the airport or the CBD and the terminal. Con-x-ion, a private operator the port lists, shows an airport shuttle on its own pages — less than an hour, be ready ten minutes before departure, and a 20-minute pickup window. Its cruise-transfer page says from A$25 and one scheduled service on cruise days, with no date on the price, so treat both as unconfirmed for your sailing.

Do Uber and other rideshares work at Brisbane Airport?

Brisbane Airport lists a rideshare pick-up on International Level 2 behind The Coffee Club and one on the central road at Domestic, with the same A$4.86 airport fee. At the cruise terminal the port has a designated pick-up about 120 m from the entrance — it asks you not to book until you've left the building.

How early should I land for a Brisbane cruise?

No line we read prints a cut-off, and the port says embarkation timing varies by cruise line. The terminal's day is set by your ship, so use your boarding pass.

Our own rule of thumb, not a line's, is to land the day before or at least five hours ahead.

Which Brisbane cruise terminal will my ship use?

One, the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at 1 Cruise Terminal Drive, Pinkenba, also called Luggage Point. Some phone maps don't know the new address — the port says to use Marine Road, which becomes Cruise Terminal Drive.

Some older pages, and Con-x-ion, name Portside Wharf at Hamilton or Fishermans Island, which the port doesn't.

Can I leave my bags at the Brisbane cruise terminal?

No. The port says there are no storage lockers. There's a baggage drop in the plaza area near the main entrance for boarding passengers.

For a gap before boarding, ask your hotel: The Calile, among our splurge picks, says luggage storage is free before or after a stay.

Can I rent a car at the Brisbane cruise terminal?

No. The port says there are no onsite car rental services. Our Brisbane cruise-port car rental page covers renting elsewhere.
