Pre-Cruise Hotels · PortMiami
Twenty hotels near PortMiami, scored on what gets you to the ship, not on reviews. Pick yours, and let the trip start the night before.
Three taps and we’ll show your best three hotels.
Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. Nobody pays to be here.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, beach, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links (transfers, rental cars, luggage storage, lounges) may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes.
All three sit by Miami International, run a shuttle to the port, and publish a price to leave your car.
Filter by what matters for your night. Save the ones you like, or tick up to three to compare side by side.
Add your sail date and the links open on the night before.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the companies below run from the airport to the port.
Six of the twenty run a free shuttle from Miami International, and all of them sit by the airport. None of the downtown or Brickell picks runs an airport shuttle, so from MIA it’s a taxi, a rideshare or the train and trolley.
Miami International · 0.5–9.7 miles from these hotels, by their own counts

All-inclusive fares with tax, tolls and tip, available around the clock. Book at least 24 hours ahead, earlier in cruise season. From FLL, its cruise transfers are private only.
MIA transfers run 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and need your flight on the ground by noon. FLL has one 12:00 PM departure and needs you landed by 11:30 AM. Book up to two days before you sail.
The port's own directions: Metrorail's Orange Line from MIA to Government Center, Metromover to Freedom Tower, then the free Coral Way Trolley across the PortMiami bridge.
Driving? The column to watch is “While you sail”. Compare hotel parking with the port’s own garages on PortMiami parking, compared, or price it out in the parking math below.

These twenty are ranked for an easy sail morning, not for the room. If the night itself is the treat, Miami has the real thing: a Four Seasons about ten minutes from the port, and Five Diamond hotels on the beach. None of them runs a cruise shuttle.
Nine of the top twenty are downtown or on the bay, across the bridge from the terminals. The airport picks trade a longer ride for free MIA shuttles and cheaper parking.
No Miami Beach hotel made the twenty; none we checked publishes a port shuttle, cruise parking or free breakfast. The Airport West and Doral hotels lose too many points on distance.
Numbers are the ranking. Each pin sits where the hotel is — the bands group them by distance, the way we score it.
Five things decide how easy the night before is, and each one is scored only from what the hotel publishes on its own site or its brand’s.
If a hotel doesn't say it, it scores zero there. Cruise blogs and tourism listings don't count, and neither do offers about to expire. Each page tells you exactly what we couldn't confirm.
By band: Downtown and Bayfront 30, Brickell, Midtown and the Health District 25, the airport 20, Miami Beach 15, Airport West and Doral 10.
Hotel-run shuttle, free or with a published price, 25. A ride, or a ride credit, only inside a package or offer 20. The concierge arranges it 10.
Published rate to leave the car 20. Offered, price unpublished 14.
Sail mornings start early. A free breakfast on site scores 10.
On the beach 6, pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3.
Ties are broken in order: the lower published parking rate, any stated way to the ship, free breakfast, parking on site, the closer stated mileage, then the lower guest parking price. That’s why the Hyatt Regency sits above the InterContinental, and why the JW Marriott Marquis took the last spot over Kimpton EPIC and citizenM.
What's left out is deliberate. Room rates change daily, so they aren't scored, and neither are guest-review scores, which measure a stay in general, not a sail morning.
The ranking tells you which hotel makes the morning easiest. Your dates and your budget decide the rest.
Set your cruise length and how many people ride. Every hotel that publishes a parking rate is priced out, next to PortMiami’s own garages at $25 a day.
| #1 Comfort Inn & Suites Airport | — |
| #2 Comfort Suites Airport North | — |
| #3 Sonesta Miami Airport | — |
| #7 Embassy Suites Airport | — |
| PortMiami garage, no hotel | — |
Parking and the ride only, at each hotel’s published rate before tax. Hotel parking counts your hotel night plus every cruise night. For the port, we count every day from sail day to the day you’re back, at the $25 long-term rate most PortMiami garages charge. Garage AA is $35, and Royal Caribbean and Norwegian sell their own garages. The two Comfort hotels’ rides are free to the port and $15 a person back through a third party. Where the ride is one way or missing, the total reads “+ ride”, and “Lowest” only goes to a price that covers the ride both ways. Room rates aren’t included.
For every PortMiami garage by terminal, and the off-site lots, see PortMiami parking, compared.
We checked 37 hotels. These came closest to the top twenty, with their scores and the reason each fell short.
| Hotel | Score | Why it missed |
|---|---|---|
| Kimpton EPIC Hotel | 36 | Tied on points and lost the last tiebreak on price: valet is $58. No shuttle, cruise parking or free breakfast. It's on our splurge list. |
| citizenM Miami Worldcenter | 36 | Tied on points, but there's no parking on site at all. No shuttle or free breakfast either. |
| Holiday Inn Express & Suites Miami Airport East | 33 | Free breakfast and a free MIA shuttle, but IHG publishes no port shuttle or cruise parking, and there's no restaurant. |
| Aloft Miami Brickell | 31 | Marriott lists no shuttle. The tourism board mentions a Stay Tonight, Cruise Tomorrow package with shuttle vouchers, but we couldn't read its terms. |
| Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami | 31 | A heated rooftop pool and Caña restaurant, but a $35.40 nightly destination fee, valet only and nothing for cruisers. |
| AC Hotel Miami Brickell | 31 | A rooftop pool and a tapas lounge, but no shuttle, no cruise parking, $55-a-day parking and breakfast for a fee. |
| Novotel Miami Brickell | 31 | A rooftop pool and bar, but no shuttle on its site, and its Park & Stay cruise packages appear only on the tourism board's listing. |
| Hilton Garden Inn Miami Airport West | 30 | Hilton lists Park, Stay & Go and a free MIA shuttle, but it's west of the airport and breakfast isn't free. The port shuttle a blog describes isn't on Hilton's site. |
| Fairfield Inn & Suites Miami Airport South | 30 | Free breakfast and a free MIA shuttle. The $15 port shuttle shows up only in a cruise blog, and there's no pool listed. |
Not ranked: Holiday Inn Port of Miami-Downtown. Closed. Tripadvisor lists it as closed, and a guest review quotes a cancellation notice for the end of February 2026.; Courtyard by Marriott Miami Airport. Marriott advertises complimentary transportation to PortMiami here, but only for bookings made through Oct 15, 2026. We don't score offers that are about to end. With it, the hotel would score 46; without it, 26.; Crowne Plaza Miami Airport. Now the Sonesta Miami Airport, ranked above.; Courtyard Miami Beach Oceanfront. Now the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection.
Six of the twenty run a free shuttle from Miami International, and they’re all airport hotels. Land late, ride over, and let the hotel handle the evening. Four of them also run or sell the ride to the ship in the morning.
Staying downtown instead? From MIA it’s a taxi on the meter, a rideshare, or Metrorail to Government Center. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes from MIA and Fort Lauderdale.

On our scoring it's Comfort Inn & Suites Miami International Airport, by the airport in Miami Springs. It publishes a free one-way shuttle to the port each morning, $12-a-night parking while you sail, free hot breakfast and a free shuttle from MIA. Comfort Suites Miami Airport North publishes the same shuttle and parking. Sonesta Miami Airport is third, with 9:00 and 11:00 AM departures at $17 a person.
As of September 25, 2026, these hotels publish a shuttle they run themselves: Comfort Inn & Suites Airport (free, one way); Comfort Suites Airport North (free, one way); Sonesta Miami Airport ($17 a person); Comfort Inn Downtown Brickell ($12 a person). Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon, SpringHill Suites Medical Center and YVE Hotel include a ride to the port only with a package or offer. Marriott Biscayne Bay's cruise package includes a $30 Uber voucher instead.
At some of them. 4 of the twenty publish a price: the two Comfort hotels by the airport at $12 a night, Embassy Suites at $17 a day for long-term parking, and Sonesta at $23 a night. 4 more offer it through a package or Hilton's Park, Stay & Go without a published price. Most downtown hotels are valet-only, with overnight rates of $39 to $67.10, and don't publish a cruise rate. Always confirm with the hotel when you book.
Of our twenty, these publish a free shuttle from Miami International: Comfort Inn & Suites Airport, Comfort Suites Airport North, Sonesta Miami Airport, Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon, Embassy Suites Airport and Hilton Blue Lagoon. All of them are airport hotels. None of the downtown or Brickell picks runs an airport shuttle, and none of the twenty publishes one from Fort Lauderdale.
By the airport, usually. PortMiami charges $25 a day for long-term parking at most of its garages, and $35 at Garage AA. The two Comfort hotels charge $12 a night and add a free ride to the port. Downtown, overnight valet runs $39 to $67.10 with no cruise rate, so from there the port's own garage is usually the better deal. Run your numbers in the calculator above.
None of the Miami Beach hotels we checked publishes a port shuttle, cruise parking or a free breakfast. The best of them, Hilton Cabana Miami Beach, scored 27. If you want the ocean the night before, see our splurge list.
By the airport if you're landing at MIA late, or driving and want cheap parking with a ride to the ship. Downtown if you want dinner, the bay and the shortest ride in the morning. You'll usually pay more to park there and arrange the ride yourself.
Hotel rates near the port move every day and spike on busy sailing days. Any number we printed would be wrong by the time you read it. We rank on what doesn't change daily, like shuttles, parking policies and breakfast, and leave the live rate to the booking site for your exact date.
