The Inn at Penn is the splurge west of the Schuylkill. It's AAA Four Diamond on Penn's campus, with Louie Louie's French-inspired cooking and weekend brunch, The Living Room's fireplaces, and valet at $61.25 a night including the 22.5% Philadelphia parking tax.
It's the only valet price of our seven with the tax already counted, so compare it with care. There's no self-parking, and Hilton mentions no pool.
By our routing the terminal is about 10.4 road miles and 23 minutes away. Hilton puts PHL 8 miles off, Center City 0.75 and Rittenhouse Square 1.20. Pets aren't allowed.
Book it for Penn or a quieter night west of the river, not for a Center City evening, and line up the cab before breakfast.
Book it if
- A campus visit or a Penn graduation the day before
- Valet with the 22.5% parking tax already in the $61.25
- Weekend brunch at Louie Louie before a Sunday sailing
Look elsewhere if
- You're bringing a pet; Hilton says pets aren't allowed.
- You want a pool, which Hilton doesn't mention.
- You want to be in Center City proper, three-quarters of a mile east.
