Emporium Hotel South Bank: Pre-Cruise Splurge Review

The verdict

Emporium trades a long drive for a pool on the roof. The hotel's page lists 143 suites, a rooftop infinity pool, a gym, a sauna and a steam room, the Healing Stone Day Spa, and four places to eat and drink: Firma, The Terrace, The Reserve Wine Bar and Belle Epoque.

On our routing the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal is 13.4 road miles away, about 31 minutes with no traffic and one of the two longest drives of the eight. The page prints no ride, no check-in time and no parking.

Breakfast terms, pets and an airport transfer are missing too — each of those is a question for the hotel.

I'd book it for the rooftop and a dinner at Firma — and I'd get check-in and parking confirmed in writing first.
