Change any answer and the picks change with it. They’re built from the same published facts as the ranking below. Nobody pays to be here.
Matching weighs your answers against each hotel’s published shuttle, parking, breakfast, pool, beach, kitchen and pet policies.
Five answers, and the page builds the whole thing: the hotel, the ride in, the ride to the ship, what happens to the car, what time to leave, and how you get home. Every figure is one the hotel, the port or the company publishes. Where nobody publishes a number, you’ll see that instead of a guess.
Who’s coming and the mood come from Your Match; the plan uses the same answers.
Partner links (transfers, rental cars, luggage storage) may earn Seabound Journeys a commission at no extra cost to you. They don't change the plan, which is built only from what each company publishes.
All three are by FLL, with a free airport shuttle, free breakfast and a published way to the ship.

Pick how you’re arriving. The board counts what each hotel publishes, the table lights up that column, and the companies below run from the airport to the port.
Twelve of the twenty run a free shuttle from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, and two more run one for a fare. None runs a free shuttle from Miami International, 27 miles south by the port’s count, so from MIA it’s a taxi, a rideshare or a private van.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood · 1–6 miles from these hotels, by their own counts
Port Everglades' own averages. Taxis at the port run on the meter only, with no flat fares, and the port's figure is the total for the car, however many ride. FLL's cruise page estimates $12 from its terminals.
A private operator, not the port. Per-vehicle prices climb with the group: from FLL $69 for up to five, $95 for up to seven; from MIA $95 and $129. It lists a $99 round-trip special for two from FLL.
Private vans only, priced per group, one way, with tolls and airport and port fees included. Booking within 7 days adds a surcharge, and a pickup before 10:30 AM adds $125.
Private cars and vans from FLL with tax, fees and the driver's tip included: economy from $47, SUV for five from $97, van for ten from $108. Hotel-to-port shared rides start at $35 a person.
Per a panelist on Disney's own Q&A site, dated August 2025; Disney's transfer page wouldn't load for us. Round trips book in the Navigator app, and one-way hotel-to-port rides need a confirmed hotel booking.
Shared vans from the booths at the cruise terminals back to the airports, for parties of three or more. The port lists them on its terminal pages and says they don't run every sailing day.
Driving? The column to watch is “While you sail”. Compare hotel parking with the port’s own garages on Port Everglades parking, compared, or price it out in the parking math below.

These twenty are ranked for an easy sail morning, not for the room. If the night itself is the treat, Fort Lauderdale has the real thing: two AAA Five Diamond hotels on the beach, and Pier Sixty-Six a mile from the port. Of the splurge picks, only the Four Seasons includes a free ride to the ship — for two, once.
Nine of the top twenty are in our Port & 17th Street band, close to the port’s northern entrances, and ten are by the airport, in Dania Beach or along State Road 84. The airport picks trade a slightly longer ride for free FLL shuttles and cheaper parking. One, Quality Inn, is in Hollywood.
No Fort Lauderdale Beach or downtown hotel made the twenty. Only the Four Seasons, on the beach, publishes a port ride outside a package, and most of the others are valet-only with a nightly resort fee.
Numbers are the ranking. Each pin sits where the hotel is — the bands group them by distance, the way we score it.
Five things decide how easy the night before is, and each one is scored only from what the hotel publishes on its own site or its brand’s.
If a hotel doesn't say it, it scores zero there — not a guess, zero. Cruise blogs and tourism listings don't count, and neither do offers about to expire. Each page tells you exactly what we couldn't confirm.
By band: the port and 17th Street 30, the airport and Dania Beach (and State Road 84 west of I-95) 25, downtown and Las Olas 20, Hollywood 15, Fort Lauderdale Beach 10.
Hotel-run shuttle, free or with a published price, 25. A ride only inside a package or offer 20. The hotel’s own ride with no published fare 15. A partner shuttle 10.
Published rate to leave the car 20, weekly rates included. Offered, price unpublished 14.
Sail mornings start early. A free breakfast on site scores 10.
On the beach 6, pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3.
Ties are broken in order: the lower published parking rate, any stated way to the ship, free breakfast, parking on site, the closer stated mileage, then the lower guest parking price. That’s why the Fairfield sits above the Hyatt Place, the Courtyard above the Aloft, Home2 Suites above the Hilton Marina, and the Hampton Inn Airport North above the SpringHill.
What's left out is deliberate. Room rates change daily, so they aren't scored. Neither are guest-review scores — they measure a stay in general, not a sail morning.
The ranking tells you which hotel makes the morning easiest. Your dates and your budget decide the rest, so price your own night before you book the winner.
Set your cruise length and how many people ride. Every hotel that publishes a daily parking rate is priced out, next to the port’s own garages and lots at up to $20 a day — the honest comparison, since the port has no shuttle leg to add.
Parking and the ride only, at each hotel’s published rate before tax. Hotel parking counts your hotel night plus every cruise night. For the port, we count every day from sail day to the day you’re back, at the $20 daily maximum Port Everglades charges in its garages and lots ($25 for oversized vehicles). Aloft publishes only a $150 weekly rate, so it isn’t priced here, and neither are the hotels that sell parking only inside a package. Quality Inn’s $10 a day includes its shuttle, which Choice describes as round trip. Where the ride is one way, missing or unpriced, the total reads “+ ride”, and “Lowest” only goes to a price that includes the ride. Room rates aren’t included.
For the port’s garages by terminal, and the off-site lots, see Port Everglades parking, compared.
We checked 56 hotels. These came closest to the top twenty, with their scores and the reason each fell short.
| Hotel | Score | Why it missed |
|---|---|---|
| Four Points by Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport - Dania Beach | 51 | Two points out. Parking is the cheapest we found, $7 a day or $49 a week, with a free FLL shuttle, but there's no port shuttle and breakfast isn't free. |
| Maritime Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruiseport | 51 | Two points out, like the Four Points Dania Beach. Parking is $19 a day or $130 a week, but Marriott lists no port shuttle, and breakfast isn't free. |
| Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale | 50 | A free one-time ride to the port for up to two, but it's on the beach 5.3 miles out, valet is $67.41 and breakfast isn't free. It's on our splurge list. |
| Tru by Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Airport | 49 | Free breakfast, a free 24/7 FLL shuttle and Hilton's Park, Stay & Go, but it's valet-only, Hilton lists no pool, and there's no port shuttle. |
| Hotel Dello Fort Lauderdale Airport, Tapestry Collection | 46 | Hilton says you can "catch a ride for a minimal fee" to the port, 10 minutes away, but gives no price. Breakfast isn't free, and there's no cruise-parking rate. |
| Extended Stay America Premier Suites Convention Center - Cruise Port | 43 | Close to the port, with a free grab-and-go breakfast and full kitchens, but its page says nothing about a shuttle, cruise parking or a pool. |
| Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach | 42 | Oceanfront, and its Stay & Cruise package includes a one-way ride to the port, but it's 5 miles out, valet-only at $58 overnight, with a $46 nightly resort fee. |
| B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale Beach | 42 | Oceanfront, and its B Cruisin' package includes a one-way Express Lyft for up to four, but the resort fee is $45 a night and valet is $57. |
| Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport/South Cruise Port | 42 | Free parking, free breakfast and Hilton's Park, Stay & Go, but it's in Hollywood and Hilton lists no port shuttle. |
| Le Méridien Dania Beach at Fort Lauderdale Airport | 41 | A partner shuttle to the port on weekends at 10:30 AM and noon, price not stated. Parking is $32.10 a day, and breakfast isn't free. |
Not ranked: Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port. No longer operating under that name. Yelp lists it as closed, and its Griffin Road address now belongs to Le Méridien Dania Beach, which scored 41.; Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Now Beach House Fort Lauderdale, a Hilton Resort. It publishes no port shuttle or cruise parking.; The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood. Now Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort, 9.3 miles from the port by Hilton's count.
Twelve of the twenty run a free shuttle from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood. Land, ride over, and let the hotel handle the evening. Four of those also run the ride to the ship in the morning, and two more point you to a partner shuttle — a named company, not a promise.
Staying on 17th Street instead? From FLL it’s a short taxi or rideshare; the port puts the average fare to the terminals at $18 to $21. The Hilton Marina and Embassy Suites run their own FLL shuttles for a fare. The Getting There table shows what every hotel publishes from FLL and Miami, and the planner turns your answers into a morning.

On our scoring it's Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale Airport - South & Cruise Port, by the airport in Dania Beach — and it isn't close. It publishes its own shuttle to the port at 10:00, 11:00 and noon for $15 a ride, cruise parking at $18 a day, free breakfast, a free FLL shuttle and a kitchen in every suite. Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port is second, with a free port shuttle at 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Fairfield Airport & Cruise Port is third, with $10-a-day parking and a $20 partner shuttle. Best on paper, not best for everyone: the matcher above weighs your own answers.
As of September 25, 2026, these hotels publish a shuttle they run themselves: Rodeway Inn & Suites (free at 10:00 and 11:00 AM), Hyatt Place Cruise Port ($9 a person), Hilton Marina ($10 a person) and Hyatt House Airport South ($15 a ride). Renaissance Marina and the Omni include a ride only with a package or for eligible guests, and Quality Inn Hollywood's comes with its park-and-cruise program. The Courtyard Airport & Cruise Port and Best Western offer one for a fee they don't publish — a ride, not a rate — and the Fairfield and Aloft point you to partner shuttles.
At most of them. Eleven of the twenty publish a price, from $10 a day at six of them, including the Fairfield, Residence Inn and Hampton Inn Airport North, up to $60 a night at Pier Sixty-Six. Quality Inn's $10 a day uses an off-site lot and includes the shuttle. Five more offer it through a package or Hilton's Park, Stay & Go without a published price. A daily rate is a rate for the nights you're in the room, not proof it covers the nights you're at sea — confirm that part when you book.
Of our twenty, these publish a free shuttle from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood: Hyatt House Airport South, Rodeway Inn & Suites, Fairfield Airport & Cruise Port, Courtyard Airport & Cruise Port, Aloft Fort Lauderdale Airport, Residence Inn Airport, Hampton Inn Airport North, SpringHill Suites Airport, Holiday Inn Express Cruise-Airport, Four Points Cruise Port, Homewood Suites Airport and Best Western Airport/Cruise Port. Hilton Marina and Embassy Suites 17th Street run one for a fare. None of the twenty runs a free shuttle from Miami International.
Often, yes. Port Everglades charges up to $20 a day in its garages and lots, $25 for oversized vehicles. Several airport-area hotels charge $10 a day, and Quality Inn's $10 includes the shuttle. Add the ride from the hotel and the gap narrows — sometimes to nothing. Run your own numbers in the calculator above before you assume the hotel wins.
Among the Fort Lauderdale Beach hotels we checked, only the Four Seasons publishes a port ride outside a package: a one-time ride for two. At 50, it came closest. Most beach hotels are valet-only with a nightly resort fee, and they sit farther from the port. For a night on the sand, see our splurge list.
By the airport if you're flying into FLL, or driving and want a set parking rate with a ride to the ship. On 17th Street if you want the shortest morning ride and dinner on foot — you'll usually arrange the ride yourself, or pay a little for it. Neither is wrong. One is cheaper, the other is closer.
Hotel rates near the port move every day and spike on busy sailing days, so any number we printed would be wrong by the time you read it. We rank on what doesn't change daily — shuttles, parking policies, breakfast — and leave the live rate to the booking site for your exact date. Price it for your own night before you assume the No. 1 is the cheap one.
