Driving your own car to MPCT is simple: a flat daily rate. Leaving a rental there is the expensive version of the same thing.
MPCT, the terminal operator, charges €15 (about US$17) per 24 hours, or €150 (about US$170) for 10 to 30 days, and says the lot is guarded around the clock, under five minutes’ walk from the terminals (its parking page, read Oct 4, 2026). The tourism office adds that the rate covers cars, motorbikes and motorhomes, with 2,000 spaces.
MSC’s port page prints €14 (about US$16) a day and €140 (about US$155) a month. A euro a day isn’t worth arguing over, so we use the operator’s €15.
MPCT takes bookings online, but you shouldn’t need one. The tourism office’s MPCT parking listing calls a reservation optional (“facultative”), and its cruise-port page says 2,000 spaces with a space guaranteed.
MSC says you pay at automatic cash desks in the luggage area on the ground floor, by cash or card. We found no parking rate for J4 — if you sail from there, ask the line.
Now price a rental that sits through a seven-night cruise. At an assumed €35 a day, the car alone is €245 (about US$275), and seven days at Gate 4 add €105 (about US$120) — about €350 (about US$395) for a car nobody drives, our arithmetic.
Return it before you sail. Rent again afterwards.
If it’s your own car, that’s a different sum — our Marseille parking guide covers MPCT’s 10-to-30-day rate and the J4 gap.
Dollar conversions on this page use the ECB’s Oct 2, 2026 reference rate, about $1.12 to the euro; your card will use its own.
