Ravenna is the port the lines sell as Venice. Royal Caribbean lists “Ravenna (Venice)”, Celebrity the same, and Norwegian turns it round to “Venice (Ravenna)”. The ship leaves from Porto Corsini, where the Canale Candiano meets the Adriatic, about 8 road miles from Ravenna’s centre by our routing.
Venice is the long way in — Celebrity puts the port about two hours 30 minutes south of it; our routing gives about 88 road miles from Marco Polo. Bologna is the airport to book, about 57.5 road miles from the terminal.
The port is mid-change. A new terminal, built by a joint venture of Royal Caribbean Group and Cruise Terminals International, was due for the 2026 season, with Norwegian Pearl named for its first ship on May 3. It slipped.
In May 2026 the operator’s director told a Ravenna paper a 2026 opening was improbable — passengers check in at a temporary tent beside the site. We found nothing saying it has opened since, so go by your documents.
It’s a busy port regardless — the port authority’s November 2025 forecast expected about 390,000 passenger movements and 111 ship calls in 2026, 71 of them ships starting or ending a cruise. Rechecked October 3–4, 2026.
Cruise lines sailing from here
Deployments change every season, so this roster is dated, sourced and kept on this page.
Royal Caribbean sells “Cruises from Ravenna (Venice), Italy”: 7-night Greek Isles and Greece & Croatia round trips on Brilliance of the Seas, one-ways to Civitavecchia and Barcelona, and Explorer of the Seas on a 7-night Greece & Adriatic sailing. Its October 29, 2025 announcement keeps Brilliance in Ravenna for summer 2027, on the Greek Isles, Croatia and the Adriatic, and lists Explorer from Ravenna too.
Celebrity heads its page “Cruises To & From Ravenna (Venice), Italy”, and its 2027–2028 Mediterranean page lists Ravenna as a departure port without naming a ship.
Norwegian markets “Venice (Ravenna)”. Its 2026 release puts Norwegian Gem on cruises between Ravenna and Rome (Civitavecchia), and Norwegian Pearl on 7-day Greek Isles voyages that alternate embarkation between Ravenna and Athens (Piraeus); its 2027 release names Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Viva from Ravenna.
Princess has a “Cruises from Ravenna” page that names no ships or years. Travel-agency listings show Enchanted Princess sailing from Ravenna to Civitavecchia on October 26, 2027 — we couldn’t find it on princess.com, so check with Princess first.
MSC calls it “Ravenna (San Marino)” and Oceania stops here mid-voyage; neither starts a cruise in Ravenna on the pages we read. The itinerary pages don’t print sailing dates, so check yours on the line’s booking page.

Where you can go
Ravenna sails east and south — the 7-night round trips cross to Croatia and down to the Greek islands; the one-ways run down Italy to Civitavecchia, or on to Barcelona by Salerno, La Spezia, Ajaccio and Marseille. Athens (Piraeus) is also an embarkation port, with its own guide, and so are Civitavecchia and Barcelona, where the one-ways finish.

Not covered above: Ravenna is also a port of call. MSC and Oceania stop here on cruises that start and end elsewhere, and MSC sells the day as “Ravenna (San Marino)”. This guide is about starting here.
Porto Corsini, and the terminal that may be new
Every line we read sends you to Porto Corsini, on the north bank of the Canale Candiano where it reaches the sea. Royal Caribbean gives “Terminal Crociere – Porto Corsini, 48123 Ravenna”; Norwegian calls it the Ravenna Terminal Passeggeri, and Princess the Porto Corsini Cruise Terminal. Your documents will use one of those.
A new terminal, built by Ravenna Civitas Cruise Port, a joint venture of Royal Caribbean Group and Cruise Terminals International, went into construction on October 24, 2024 — press figures for the cost run from about €37 (about US$40) million to €50 (about US$55) million. The port authority expected it “roughly” for the start of the 2026 season. It missed.
On May 22, 2026, the company’s director told Ravenna&Dintorni a 2026 opening was improbable and named September 26 as the target, with “a difficult transition period” to come. Until then passengers go through a temporary tent next to the site. A later RavennaToday headline says the opening slips to 2027. We found nothing saying it has opened — expect the tent unless your documents say otherwise.
No page we read publishes check-in times, a luggage drop or accessibility details for the terminal — your line’s documents are the only source. One warning: Norwegian’s driving-directions page lists coordinates about 22 km south of Porto Corsini alongside Venice directions. Ignore it.
| Terminal | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal Crociere, Porto Corsini | North bank of the Canale Candiano, 48123 Ravenna | The address the lines give; check-in is in a temporary tent beside the building site, per the operator in May 2026 |
| New terminal, Ravenna Civitas Cruise Port | Porto Corsini | Two floors on a footprint of about 5,000 m², per the port authority, two ships at once; late, with no opening confirmed |
How far is it from town? Princess says four kilometres from the centre. Our routing gives about 8.1 road miles (13.1 km), roughly 18 minutes, from Ravenna station, and Italian Wikipedia says 13 km — so plan on the longer figure. Sources: royalcaribbean.com, ncl.com, princess.com, the port authority’s release of November 7, 2025, ravennaedintorni.it (November 2025 and May 22, 2026), ilrestodelcarlino.it, read October 3–4, 2026. Highly volatile — confirm the building and check-in time in your documents.
Parking, in short
“No long-term parking available at the Port”, per Royal Caribbean. Highly volatile
The published option is in town: the city’s Via Cura car park, automated and camera-watched, is €1 (about US$1) an hour or €4 a day from October 1, 2026, with a €35 (about US$40) monthly pass, per the city. The tourism board lists it as a pick-up for the transfer to the terminal, with that run listed for May 1 to October 31, 2026, and nobody says a car can stay a whole cruise. Ask the city first.
Where should I park for a Ravenna cruise?
Why the port has no long-term lot, what Via Cura costs, and the hotels that print their own parking.

Bologna is the airport to fly into — no bus or train runs from any airport to the terminal; you get to Ravenna first, then out to Porto Corsini. Visit Ravenna’s transfer is from €20 (about US$20) a person and about 30 minutes; the tourism board lists the station run for April 1 to November 1, 2026. Outside that, it’s bus 90, which stops about 500 m from the terminal, or a taxi.
| Airport | Taxi or car | Public transport |
|---|---|---|
| BLQ — Bologna Marconi | No published taxi fare. Our routing gives about 57.5 road miles (92.6 km), 71 minutes, to the terminal; Royal Caribbean says about 1 hour 30 minutes | VisitRavenna’s shuttle to Ravenna station, €30, leaving the airport at 1:30 am, 2 pm and 8 pm, or Shuttle Italy to Piazza Aldo Moro, €27 (about US$30) a leg, at 4:30 am, 9:30 am, 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm, both about 1 hour 30 minutes; or the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale, €12.80 (about US$14), and a direct train of about an hour |
| VCE — Venice Marco Polo | About 88.3 road miles (142 km), 2 hours 32 minutes, by our routing; Royal Caribbean says 2 hours 30 minutes by car | Royal Caribbean says 3 hours by bus; we found no published fare. Princess sells transfers for its guests |
| FRL — Forlì | No figure checked | VisitRavenna’s shuttle to Ravenna station runs Wednesdays at 11 am and Saturdays at 6 pm only, €20, about an hour |
Fares and times from turismo.ra.it, marconiexpress.it, bologna-airport.it, royalcaribbean.com and visitravenna.it, read October 3–4, 2026. Highly volatile — shuttle times change by season, so check before you fly.
The night before, ranked: we’ve scored twelve hotels for the night before a Ravenna cruise, from Marina Romea beside the terminal to the old town and Bologna, on what each one publishes. Flying in? Read Bologna or Marco Polo to the ship first. Four worth knowing:
| Hotel | Where | One thing to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel Ulisse | Marina Romea | About 1.7 road miles from the terminal by our routing, the closest bed we ranked, with free breakfast per its Expedia listing. |
| Hotel Columbia | Marina Romea | Its own site has a “Stopover Ravenna” page for cruise passengers: no hotel shuttle, so it points you to Visit Ravenna’s run from Marina Romea, from €10 (about US$11). |
| Hotel Diana | Old town, Via Girolamo Rossi | The old-town hotel with its own cruise page; it points you to Visit Ravenna’s transfer, and says the taxi can’t be booked ahead. |
| Albergo Cappello | Off Piazza del Popolo | A pick-up point on Visit Ravenna’s transfer list, with breakfast included and a restaurant in the building. |
For a grander night, see the splurge list, from Palazzo Bezzi in town to Bologna’s One-Key Grand Hotel Majestic. Sold a “Venice” cruise and not sure which port it is? Our Venice guide sorts out the five places “Venice” sailings start from, Ravenna among them.
The day before
Spend it on the mosaics — the Ravenna Mosaici ticket covers Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia and the Neonian Baptistery for €14 (about US$16), €11.50 (about US$13) reduced, €2 (about US$2) for ages 6 to 10 and free under 6. Galla Placidia and the Baptistery need a booked slot. They open 9 am to 7 pm, last entry 6:45, until November 2, then 10 am to 5 pm from November 3, per the ticket office.
Dante’s Tomb on Via Dante Alighieri is free, 10 am to 7 pm through October and 10 am to 6 pm from November, per the tourism board. The tourist office is at Piazza San Francesco 7, phone +39 0544 35404.
Don’t drive into the old town — much of it is a limited-traffic zone watched by the city’s “Sirio” cameras; if your hotel is inside it, the hotel can register your plate with the city, so tell them when you book.

Ravenna FAQ
Is a Ravenna cruise really a Venice cruise?
No — Royal Caribbean and Celebrity sell it as “Ravenna (Venice)” and Norwegian as “Venice (Ravenna)”, but the ship sails from Porto Corsini, Ravenna’s port on the Adriatic. Celebrity puts it about two hours 30 minutes south of Venice, and our routing gives about 88.3 road miles (142 km) from Venice Marco Polo. Plan the trip around Ravenna and Bologna, not Venice.
Which cruise lines sail from Ravenna?
Royal Caribbean, with Brilliance of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas on its own pages and both named again for summer 2027; Celebrity, whose 2027-2028 Mediterranean page lists Ravenna without naming a ship; and Norwegian — Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Pearl in 2026, Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Viva in its 2027 release. Princess’s Ravenna page names no ships. Travel-agency listings show Enchanted Princess leaving here on October 26, 2027, but we couldn’t find that voyage on princess.com. MSC and Oceania only call.
Where is the Ravenna cruise terminal?
At Porto Corsini, on the north bank of the Canale Candiano; Celebrity gives the address as 48123 Porto Corsini. The new terminal backed by Royal Caribbean Group is late — in May 2026 its operator’s director called a 2026 opening improbable, and check-in runs from a temporary tent beside the building site. Princess puts the terminal four kilometres from the centre. Our routing gives about 8.1 road miles (13.1 km) from the station, and Italian Wikipedia says 13 km.
Is there parking at the Ravenna cruise terminal?
Not for a cruise — “No long-term parking available at the Port”, per Royal Caribbean. The city’s Via Cura car park in the centre is €4 a day from October 1, 2026, per the city, and the tourism board names it as a pick-up for the terminal transfer, listing the Via Cura run for May 1 to October 31, 2026. Nobody says a car can stay a week.
How do I get from Bologna airport to the Ravenna cruise port?
In two legs — VisitRavenna’s airport shuttle runs to Ravenna station for €30, or take the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale for €12.80 and a direct train of about an hour. From Ravenna, Visit Ravenna’s seasonal transfer to the terminal is from €20 a person, or bus 90 stops about 500 m away. Our routing gives about 57.5 road miles (92.6 km) from the airport to the terminal.
Where does a Ravenna cruise go?
Greece and Croatia, mostly — Royal Caribbean’s 7-night round trips call at Santorini, Athens (Piraeus), Mykonos, Split and Zadar. Its one-ways to Civitavecchia add Kotor, Dubrovnik, Messina and Naples, and those to Barcelona run by Salerno, La Spezia, Ajaccio and Marseille.
