TTP, the terminal operator, runs the only cruise parking we found. It takes cars by reservation, in a fixed window.
You book through TTP, which calls itself the only official parking: by 3 PM the day before sailing, or by the Friday before for a Saturday, Sunday or Monday departure. Nobody drives up on the day and parks.
MSC passengers park in TTP’s covered car park at Via Gian Rinaldo Carli 8–10, which MSC calls unattended; the limits are 2 m high and 5 m long, and a longer car pays for extra space. That’s about 1.5 road miles from the terminal by our routing.
Costa and TUI passengers use TTP’s Molo IV car park at Largo Città di Santos, about 100 m from Trieste Centrale; staff check you in before you enter.
Cars go in from 8 AM to 5 PM on embarkation day, by reservation only, and come out from 7 AM to 1 PM on the last day. Miss that window and TTP charges €50 to open up — about US$55, per its 2026 conditions.
MSC’s own page prints the pick-up window as “8:00 AM - 1:00 AM”; TTP, which runs the car park, says 7 AM to 1 PM, and we go by TTP.
A free shuttle runs between the car park and the terminal; you can’t book it and TTP doesn’t guarantee a seat. Drop the bags and a passenger at the terminal first — then park.
TTP shows its prices only inside the booking portal, which came back empty for us, so we print no parking price. A blank, not a guess.
You pay by card or PayPal; you can cancel within 14 days of the acceptance email, and after that it’s non-refundable. That email is the document you show to collect the car.
Price the other option: at an assumed €40 (about US$45) a day, a rental that sits a week in that car park costs about €280 (about US$315) in rent alone, our arithmetic, before TTP’s fee.
Hand the rental back before you board. Book another for afterwards, unless you’re touring for days on both sides.
Street bays along the Rive cost €1.80 an hour (red), €1.30 (yellow) or €0.80 (blue), charged 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Saturday; fine for an hour, useless for a week.
Our Trieste parking guide covers driving your own car in.
