One terminal, one operator — but the port's own season announcement names four megaships as port-of-call visitors, not homeports, despite each showing up repeatedly on a schedule tracker. The real homeport list here is shorter than it looks.

01

Boston in brief

Flynn Cruiseport Boston — most travelers just call it the Black Falcon Terminal, its longtime name — is a single building in South Boston's Seaport District, run by one operator (Massport, the Massachusetts Port Authority) end to end. That makes it structurally the simplest port we cover since Galveston: no second terminal, no second state, no ambiguity about which building your ship uses.

What makes Boston genuinely interesting is a research finding, not a physical quirk. Massport's own 2026 season announcement describes "23 cruise brands and nine homeport vessels" — but names only one homeport ship specifically (Norwegian Breakaway) and explicitly calls out four other well-known megaships as port-of-call visitors, not homeports, even though each of them shows up repeatedly in a schedule-tracker snapshot. That's the opposite of what a repeated-appearance count has meant at every other port we cover so far, so this guide leans on the port's own explicit classification rather than the appearance-count method used elsewhere.

02

Cruise lines sailing from here

This is the one section on this page built to go stale on its own clock, so it's kept in one block, dated, sourced — and not repeated anywhere else on this page.

Current as of September 13, 2026

Norwegian Cruise Line homeports Norwegian Breakaway here for the first time in 2026 (April 14-November 8), alternating 7-night Canada & New England and 7-night Bermuda round-trip itineraries — confirmed via Massport's own season announcement, quoted across multiple trade-press outlets since Massport's own site was inaccessible to when we checked's tools. Celebrity Cruises repositions Celebrity Silhouette to Boston after a transatlantic crossing (arriving September 5, 2026) for a fall season of 11- and 12-night Canada & New England round-trips through mid-October, confirmed via cruise-industry trade press and Celebrity's own itinerary listing. American Cruise Lines runs several small coastal ships — American Patriot among them — on round-trip New England itineraries from Boston all summer (Cape Codder, New England Explorer, Grand New England), confirmed via the line's own press release; a September 2026 schedule snapshot shows the same strong pattern continuing, though a 2026-specific press release wasn't independently found when we checked.

Explicitly NOT homeporting, despite repeated schedule appearances: Massport's own season announcement names Norwegian Escape, MSC Meraviglia, Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas, and Holland America's Zuiderdam as port-of-call visits only. Each shows up 2-3 times in a September 2026 schedule-aggregator snapshot — a pattern that has meant genuine homeporting at every other port we cover — but the port's own explicit classification says otherwise here, and that's treated as authoritative. Massport also states nine total homeport vessels for the season without naming the remaining five beyond the three lines above; that's a real gap in what's publicly documented, not an oversight on this guide's part.

One more note: Windstar Cruises runs a single 8-night Bermuda sailing from Boston on October 20, 2026, but its actual 2026 Canada/New England season homeports from Montreal — Boston becomes a full Windstar homeport starting in 2027. Treated as a future addition rather than a current line, the same way this system has handled other confirmed-but-not-yet-active cases.

Sources: Massport's own 2026 season announcement, quoted in cruise-industry trade press since Massport's own site was inaccessible when we checked (cruiseindustrynews.com, southbostononline.com, boston25news.com); Celebrity Silhouette's own itinerary listing and trade-press coverage of its Boston repositioning; American Cruise Lines' own press release and itinerary pages; a September 2026 schedule-aggregator snapshot (cruisemapper.com) used only to cross-check, not to determine, homeport status — verified September 13, 2026. Where you can go: Maine, Atlantic Canada, and Bermuda

None of the nine destinations below has a dedicated destination page on this site yet, so none of the cards below link anywhere — the same gap called out at every port we cover so far.

Common, not guaranteed — the actual stops on any sailing depend on the line, the ship, and the season, so check your specific itinerary rather than assuming from the pattern below.

Not covered above: Celebrity Silhouette's longer itineraries also call at Sydney, Nova Scotia and Rockland, Maine on some sailings — real stops, but resting on the same single-line, single-itinerary sourcing as Quebec City and Charlottetown above, so they aren't given their own cards here to keep this list to a manageable size.

04

The cruise terminal

Flynn Cruiseport Boston (Black Falcon Terminal) — 1 Black Falcon Avenue, South Boston Seaport District, Boston, MA 02210. A single building, operated end to end by Massport (the Massachusetts Port Authority), which also runs Logan Airport. Renamed in 2017 after former Boston mayor Raymond Flynn, who originally opened the terminal in 1986; it's still commonly called the Black Falcon Terminal by longtime travelers and some third-party guides. Massport's own $100 million investment and terminal upgrades are underway for the 2026 season, with some passengers reportedly using tent-based check-in during construction, per trade-press coverage.

Every line covered in the lines section above — homeport and port-of-call alike — uses this same single terminal. There's no second building, no cross-state facility, and no terminal-assignment ambiguity to sort out here, unlike New York, Los Angeles/Long Beach, or Seattle.

Massport's own site returned only a bot-protection page to when we checked's tools at every URL tried, so the address and history above come from a near-primary source (Wikipedia, itself citing Massport) rather than Massport's own page directly. Review periodically

05

Parking, in short

Massport’s cruise parking page on Parking.com names the Massport Fargo Lot at 93 Fargo Street, run by SP+ and sold only as a prepaid reservation, with a free courtesy shuttle to the terminal; arrive from 7 a.m. and at least two hours before the ship leaves. It shows no daily rate we could read, and Massport’s own site still blocks automated reading (rechecked September 27, 2026). Third-party guides put the cruiseport lots at about $25 a day, with the Marine Park Garage at $20 to $35, and they disagree on which lots run a shuttle: cometoboston says a courtesy shuttle, CruiseHive says the C1 Lot and Marine Park don’t. Off-site hotel garages are listed from about $14/day by a parking reseller, which says no transportation is provided at any of them. That comparison gets the full page it deserves.

Getting here

Logan International Airport (BOS) is the standard answer — run by the same operator (Massport) as the cruise terminal, in the same city. Norwegian puts it about 2 miles and 10 minutes from Flynn Cruiseport, Holland America 2.8 miles and 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, and Royal Caribbean 4 miles. The SL1 Silver Line is free from Logan, per the MBTA; change to the SL2 for Drydock Avenue, about a 10-minute walk from the terminal, per Princess.

Distance and drive time Review periodically — from Norwegian’s, Holland America’s and Royal Caribbean’s own pages, rechecked September 27, 2026. They disagree, and none is a guarantee through the tunnel on a busy morning.

Boston FAQ

Which cruise lines actually homeport in Boston?

As of September 2026, three are confirmed as genuinely homeporting at Flynn Cruiseport Boston (as opposed to just calling): Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Breakaway, homeporting in Boston for the first time in 2026 (April 14-November 8, alternating Canada/New England and Bermuda itineraries); Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Silhouette, running a fall 2026 Canada/New England season (September 5-mid October); and American Cruise Lines, whose small coastal ships run round-trip New England itineraries all summer. Massport's own season announcement describes "23 cruise brands and nine homeport vessels" overall but names only Norwegian Breakaway specifically — the other eight homeport ships aren't identified in any source found when we checked, so this list is deliberately narrower than the port's own framing.

Are Norwegian Escape, MSC Meraviglia, and Royal Caribbean ships homeporting in Boston?

No — Massport's own 2026 season announcement explicitly names Norwegian Escape, MSC Meraviglia, Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas, and Holland America's Zuiderdam as port-of-call visits, not homeports, even though each shows multiple appearances in a September 2026 schedule snapshot. That's a useful reminder that repeated schedule appearances don't always mean homeporting — Boston sees heavy megaship traffic from ships based elsewhere running New England/Canada loop itineraries.

Where can I go on a cruise from Boston?

Maine and Atlantic Canada lead the program: Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine are named on both Norwegian's and American Cruise Lines' own itineraries, with Halifax and Saint John, New Brunswick rounding out the regular Canada stops. Norwegian Breakaway also runs a separate 7-night Bermuda round-trip from Boston. Longer sailings — American Cruise Lines' 16-day Grand New England and Celebrity Silhouette's 11- and 12-night Canada/New England cruises — reach Newport, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, Quebec City, and Charlottetown, PEI.

How much does parking cost at Flynn Cruiseport Boston?

Massport's own site could not be reached directly when we checked, so every figure here comes from third-party guides. Massport's cruise parking page on Parking.com names the Massport Fargo Lot at 93 Fargo Street, prepaid only, with a free courtesy shuttle; third-party guides put the cruiseport lots at about $25 a day and disagree on which lots run a shuttle. Cheaper off-site hotel options are reported from about $14/day, covered in full on the parking page.

What's the closest airport to Flynn Cruiseport Boston?

Logan International Airport (BOS) — also run by Massport, in the same city, and commonly described by third-party guides as a short drive from the cruise terminal. Norwegian puts it about 2 miles and 10 minutes from the terminal, Holland America 2.8 miles and 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, and Royal Caribbean 4 miles.

Is Flynn Cruiseport Boston one terminal or several?

One terminal — the Black Falcon Terminal in South Boston's Seaport District, at 1 Black Falcon Avenue. That makes Boston structurally the simplest hub we cover since Galveston: a single operator (Massport), a single building, no terminal-assignment ambiguity to sort out.
