Cruises From Singapore

Singapore is Southeast Asia’s dominant cruise hub, and the site of Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever Asia homeport, where the line says more than 90% of guests are new to Disney cruising. It’s where most first-time Asia cruisers start.

01

Singapore, the short version

Disney Cruise Line homeported its first-ever Asia ship, Disney Adventure, here in March 2026. That’s a first, not another seasonal call.

Disney reports more than 90% of that ship’s guests are first-time Disney cruisers, many on their first cruise ever. It’s a self-reported figure, not an audited one — but it shows how far this market sits from the Caribbean’s repeat-cruiser base.

Singapore runs two cruise terminals, and they do different jobs.

Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) is the modern, mainstream hub — recently expanded, and homeport to Royal Caribbean, Dream Cruises (Genting Dream), Princess, Disney, Celebrity and Regent Seven Seas. Princess sails Sapphire Princess and Diamond Princess from Singapore this season, and trade press places them at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, though Princess’s own pages name no terminal.

The Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront is the smaller one, and it moved to a new building in July 2026. It handles boutique and expedition-adjacent lines instead — Silversea, Viking Ocean and Noble Caledonia among them — plus regional ferries to Indonesia.

Singapore sailings come in three shapes.

Some are short, a few nights with no port at all (Disney Adventure sails 3 and 4 night cruises with no ports of call).

Some loop into Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The long ones run 10 to 31 nights, mostly Princess, to Japan and beyond.

Check your own itinerary before you book flights.

If it’s your first cruise in Asia, this is the easiest start, and the most family-ready of Asia’s three main cruise circuits. Our Asia guide makes the full case.

02

Who sails, and from which terminal

Singapore’s roster changes faster than anything else on this page — Disney only arrived in March 2026 — so it lives in one dated, sourced block and nowhere else.

Current as of September 14, 2026

Lines move between terminals, and your boarding document names yours. What the lines' own pages, the terminals' schedules and trade press show for this season, read October 5, 2026:

Where the ships go

Most Singapore cruises are round-trip Southeast Asia loops, with a smaller number of longer, one-way sailings to Japan.

Every stop on the loop now has a port page and an excursion guide of its own — the berth, the paperwork, and whether the tour is worth buying.

Common, not guaranteed — which stops appear on a given sailing depends on the line, the ship and the season, so check your itinerary rather than assuming from the pattern below.

Destinations

The Southeast Asia loop, stop by stop

The classic loop runs northwest into the Andaman and then up the Vietnamese coast. Every stop below has its own page — what the berth is like, and whether the tour is worth buying. Your own itinerary is the one that counts.

3

The stops a Singapore round trip is built around.

Phuket

Thailand

The beach stop, and the one where your ship decides your day — tender into Patong Bay or dock at Ao Makham.

Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam · berths at Phu My

The longest transfer on the loop: Phu My is an industrial berth roughly two hours from the city, and Vietnam wants an e-visa before you sail.

Ha Long Bay

Vietnam · berths at Bai Chay

Only on the longer sailings. You berth on the inner edge of the bay, which raises a fair question about paying for a boat while already on one.

One-way repositioning

4

A narrower set of sailings use Singapore as one end of a longer one-way voyage into Japan rather than a round trip.

Tokyo & Yokohama

Japan · four berths

Usually the far end of the voyage rather than a call — and a departure port in its own right, with its own guide.

Osaka & Kobe

Japan · the Kyoto gateway

Reached on the Japan leg. Kyoto has no cruise port, so this is how itineraries sell it.

Hiroshima

Japan

A Japan-leg call, and the one stop on any of these itineraries people plan the rest of the day around.

Kagoshima

Japan

Far southern Japan, usually on the longer repositioning runs.

Nothing matches that. Clear the filter to see the whole Singapore circuit again.

Not covered above: ships repositioning between other Asia circuits, or on round-the-world-style itineraries, also stop in Singapore. That occasional traffic isn’t part of this page’s story, because those aren’t standard Singapore round trips.

04

Marina Bay and HarbourFront

Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) sits at 61 Marina Coastal Drive in Marina South, and it’s the modern, mainstream hub.

It runs two berths across Pier 1 and Pier 2, and can handle two mega-ships at once after a $40 million upgrade the Singapore Tourism Board announced as complete on October 29, 2025.

The upgrade added a new Level 1 check-in hall for Pier 2 (70 counters, 500-plus seats) and more than doubled the ride-hailing lots. It also added a looped shuttle between Marina South Pier MRT station and the terminal.

The Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront is the smaller of the two — geared toward boutique, expedition-adjacent and regional-ferry traffic, not the mainstream fleet MBCCS handles.

It moved in July 2026 to a new building at 5 HarbourFront Avenue (Singapore 099549), about 70 metres from its previous site. The opening came in phases: ferry operators from July 7, and the rest, cruise-line users included, from July 15.

Parking: the short answer

Short answer: don't budget a car park for a week at HarbourFront. The terminal publishes S$2.80 an hour with no daily cap printed, which makes seven nights about S$470 (about US$365).

At Marina Bay, book the advance reservation, which MBCCS says is at a discounted rate, and get the price in writing. Or take the MRT and shuttle.

MBCCS doesn't print its car-park rates in a form we could read. A parking directory lists S$0.70 (about US$0.55) per 15 minutes, S$2.80 for the first hour then S$3.00 (about US$2) per 30 minutes, and S$14.80 (about US$12) for the first three hours, none of it confirmed by MBCCS.

Flying in, then the last few miles

Singapore's Changi Airport connects directly to most long-haul hubs.

The city is compact. Both terminals are a taxi or MRT ride from most hotels.

US citizens don’t need a visa for stays up to 90 days. They do need to file a free SG Arrival Card online in the 3 days before arrival, not after — confirm current requirements before you travel, since these rules can change.

Renting a car? Most cruisers skip it. A taxi from Changi to Marina Bay Cruise Centre is about S$24 to 25 off-peak (about US$19 to 20), our arithmetic from the LTA tariff, and Singapore drives on the left. Singapore rental cars · Should you rent at all?

MBCCS access details come from Wikipedia and the Singapore Tourism Board’s own upgrade announcement. HarbourFront’s own getting-there page names HarbourFront MRT (North East and Circle lines) and puts Changi 40 to 50 minutes away by MRT.

08

Questions, answered

Which cruise lines actually sail from Singapore?

More than a dozen lines are named across the two terminals. At Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS), the main terminal: Royal Caribbean International, Dream Cruises (Genting Dream), and Princess Cruises sail regularly; Disney Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises seasonally; Regent Seven Seas Cruises occasionally.

At the smaller Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront: Oceania Cruises (Nautica, on the terminal's schedule for November 4), StarCruises, Cordelia Cruises, Silversea, Viking Ocean Cruises, and Noble Caledonia, per that terminal's own July 2026 relocation announcement. Confirm your own line's actual terminal before you travel.

How many cruise terminals does Singapore have, and which one will I use?

Two, with different jobs. Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) is the modern, mainstream hub — two berths, a $40 million upgrade completed in October 2025, and where Disney homeported its first-ever Asia ship.

The Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront, which moved in July 2026 to a new building at 5 HarbourFront Avenue (Singapore 099549), handles smaller and boutique ships plus regional ferries to Indonesia.

Check your line's own documents. The two terminals are about 7 km (4.5 miles) apart by road on our routing, not walkable to each other.

What does a Singapore itinerary look like?

Three shapes. Some cruises are short, a few nights with no port at all (Disney Adventure sails 3 and 4 night cruises with no ports of call).

Some loop into Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, with stops like Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City (via Phu My) and, on longer sailings, Ha Long Bay. The long ones run 10 to 31 nights, mostly Princess, to Japan and beyond.

It's an easy, Caribbean-shaped way into Asia cruising.

A smaller number of sailings use Singapore as one end of a longer, one-way repositioning voyage to or from Japan rather than a round trip. Check your own itinerary.

How much does parking cost at Marina Bay Cruise Centre?

MBCCS doesn't print its car-park rates in a form we could read. A parking directory lists S$0.70 per 15 minutes, S$2.80 for the first hour then S$3.00 per 30 minutes, and S$14.80 for the first three hours, none of it confirmed by MBCCS.

MBCCS offers an advance reservation at a discounted rate; call +65 6411 5592 for the booking window and the price.

At HarbourFront the terminal publishes S$2.80 an hour with no daily cap printed. Full comparison on the parking page.

Do I need a visa, and how do I get to the terminal?

Singapore is visa-free for US citizens for stays up to 90 days — only a free SG Arrival Card is required, filed in the 3 days before arrival, not after.

Marina Bay Cruise Centre is reachable via Marina South Pier MRT station (about 600 metres away by Royal Caribbean's driving directions, or about a ten-minute walk on another of its pages, with a shuttle loop added in the 2025 upgrade), bus route 400, or taxi. It's a taxi ride from the touristy Marina Bay Sands strip, not a walk, so budget transit time if you're staying nearby pre-cruise.
